Japanese government now eager to prepare Japanese self defense stronger, eager to prepare Japanese self defense stronger Welcome back to Ake’s channel on the road Where am I now? It’s the International Terminal of Busan Port I’m going to take a boat to Japan from here Talking about Japan
Everyone’s first impression should be “Little Japan” Of course, there are also “action movies” and the like but do you know In fact, Japan is not small at all Its land area is 378,000 square kilometers It is bigger than Germany, Italy, and the United Kingdom that we are familiar with. And before I go
I checked a lot of information related to Japan I found that it is very different from our stereotype of “Little Japan” So let’s start with the history of Japan Let’s start this journey Japan is an island country in East Asia by japanese archipelago and 14,125 islands of various sizes.
Covering an area of approximately 378,000 square kilometers Population reaches 125 million parliamentary constitutional monarchy Real power lies in Congress The emperor of “Eternal Lineage” is a symbol about 20 million years ago Japan connected to Eurasia Separated due to crustal movement 100,000 years ago Primitive humans living on the Korean Peninsula
Start moving to Japan Entered about 12,000 years ago Jomon period (a gathering society that made pottery, stone tools, bone and horn tools, etc.) 10th century BC to 3rd century AD The Yayoi people of the Korean Peninsula Bringing advanced rice farming technology
And merged with the Jomon people (and later the Kofun people) to become modern Japanese 4th century AD With the introduction of Buddhism from Korea (Baekje) Yamato Country in Nara, Japan Stands Out After the “Dahua Reform” in 645 AD
During the Sui and Tang Dynasties, the little fans (Japanese emperors) continued to introduce Chinese culture Japan became a centralized state until the end of the 12th century The samurai class held real power Japan enters the 600-year-long shogunate era Until the arrival of the American black ship in 1853
The Edo shogunate was forced to open up to the outside world The emergence of new trends of thought A large number of ambitious young people like Ryoma Sakamoto have emerged The Edo shogunate could only “return the great government”
Power is returned to the Emperor of Japan, who has been a mascot for more than 600 years Governed jointly with the cabinet composed of the “rebellion faction” At this point, Japan entered the “cheating” Meiji Restoration total westernization Punch the Manchus Kick Tsarist Russia Still the victor in World War I
Entering the brief period of Taisho democracy end of war Japan’s exports plummet Plus the Great Kanto Earthquake Society enters the Great Depression The military took the opportunity to seize power practice militarism What followed was the outbreak of World War II as we know it Japan’s defeat experienced post-war reconstruction economic boom
Then the bubble economy bursts Coming to Abe’s 2012 Revitalize the Japanese economy (GDP per capita in 2023: US$35,385) This is the departure hall of the international terminal My ticket has been bought Like a plane ticket This is the boarding gate. My fare is second class $88 Similar to the procedures at the airport
We’ve already gone through customs here. Take a ferry from Busan Port Crossing the Sea of Japan Sailed 230 kilometers Arrive in Shimonoseki City, Japan in 10 hours It is worth mentioning that The Yuan Dynasty passed through this sea route twice Attack Japan’s Kitakyushu Failed due to obstruction by “kamikaze” (typhoon) good morning everyone
After a 10-hour flight Finally arrived in Japan This is Shimonoseki City in Japan I really I really don’t recommend everyone to take a boat to Japan. It’s so bumpy I vomited three times yesterday I can finally understand why the Yuan Dynasty attacked twice Japan has failed
It just took a while to go to customs. Because here A drone cannot fly if it weighs more than 100 grams. So I checked it out there Then he told me a lot Here are the terms and conditions for flying drones But you still let me go Everyone will definitely be curious
Why did you come to this place? You may not be very familiar with it This is just a place with a population of 250,000 But actually what about this place? It is of great significance to the entire Chinese people You may not have any idea when talking about “Shimonoseki City”
Everyone should know about the Treaty of Shimonoseki when I talk about it The Qing Dynasty lost the Sino-Japanese War In the following year, 1895 Li Hongzhang came here Signed the Treaty of Shimonoseki It was precisely because of the signing of the Treaty of Shimonoseki that Then recognized the independence of Korea
And ceded many islands including Taiwan. So where are we now? Just go and have a look The exact place where the Treaty of Shimonoseki was signed can be seen Chinese characters are used in many places here. And there are also Chinese-style buildings It totally feels like being in China Very familiar feeling
The price of gasoline in Japan is 183 yen/liter Equivalent to 9 yuan RMB The streets here are clean I thought it was those city cleaners instead of Because I have come all the way discover everyone I will clean the area in front of my door. Here it is
This is where Li Hongzhang signed the Treaty of Shimonoseki. But they don’t call it the Treaty of Shimonoseki Japan calls it the “Japan-Qing Peace Treaty” There is also a road built here called Li Hongzhang Road Where is the Chunfan Building in front of me? This is where they negotiate
A memorial hall was built next to it Then Li Hongzhang lived in Yinjie Temple over there At that time, Li Hongzhang was doing it for safety reasons It’s the place where we go to and from accommodation and negotiations. So this road is named Li Hongzhang Road. But although it is to avoid danger
But he was still shot But also because of this Negotiation can lower the conditions a lot Although the losses were heavy Okubo Toshimichi, one of the three heroes of Japan’s Meiji Restoration, was assassinated Resistance to Japan’s external expansion has been eliminated
The main militant faction in “Conquest of Korea” and “Conquest of the Qing Dynasty” gained power Rights and interests surrounding the Korean Peninsula and surrounding areas In 1894, the Sino-Japanese War broke out between Japan and the Qing Dynasty The defeated Qing Dynasty had no choice but to
Sent Li Hongzhang to Shimonoseki, Japan, to make peace After nearly a month of negotiations Both parties signed “Treaty of Shimonoseki” (Due to Japanese pronunciation, “Shimonoseki” was translated into “Shimonoseki” in the Qing Dynasty) Recognize Korean independence Ceded the Liaodong Peninsula, Taiwan, and the Penghu Islands Compensation of 200 million taels of silver, etc.
Subsequently, due to the intervention of Germany, France and Russia, Japan returned the Liaodong Peninsula This memorial hall is actually not big. This plaque is the plaque of Chunfan Building at that time. Let’s take a look How did they tell about the Sino-Japanese War of 1894-1895? He told about Japan and the Qing Dynasty
Confrontation for interests on the Korean Peninsula Then the Sino-Japanese War of 1894 broke out The latter is beneficial to Japan So what about the second year? The Qing Dynasty came to Japan again Try to make peace with them Here we talk about how Li Hongzhang came to be But during the negotiation process
Li Hongzhang was assassinated The meeting lasted for 29 days in total It later confirmed the independence of Korea and agreed that the Qing Dynasty ceded territory to Japan Transfer of rights and payment of compensation This is the Treaty of Shimonoseki The signature here is Li Hongzhang
At that time, his title was Prince Taifu, Bachelor of Wenhua Palace. Minister Beiyang Their seats are also very particular. Look at this chair with the biggest title It’s different from ordinary chairs And what about the one opposite him? It’s Li Hongzhang’s chair Now come to the side where Li Hongzhang is sitting
Can be seen this chair It seems to be obviously a little smaller than the one opposite. Maybe I got it wrong This road is Li Hongzhang Traveling to and from your accommodation Let’s go see where he lives. I’m here to shoot It’s for everyone to remember history
It is precisely because after the Sino-Japanese War of 1894-88 Only then did the Reform Movement of 1898 Hundred Days Reform But in the end they all ended in failure The most important thing is that power does not lie with the people But in the power class So the reform will not be successful.
Next to this road They are all residential buildings This two-layered one feels so good. Watching the passage of time since childhood It feels very familiar From here, we go to Yinjie Temple. That’s where Li Hongzhang lived at that time There is no one in the temple Very clean
You can see that this temple is also very new. In fact, it was rebuilt Here is the donation list of some rebuilders. Japan gambled on its national destiny through the Sino-Japanese War of 1884-1894 Prosperity again also moved towards militarism And also became the axis power in World War II
Of course, then we are going to Hiroshima now It is also equivalent to the place where World War II ended. 200 kilometers in one hour Finally arrived at the high-speed rail station in Hiroshima From there? take bus Came to their city center Peace Memorial Park They call it Peace Memorial Park
The buses here are also very convenient. Change can be given Here it is There is a building in front This is the center point of the nuclear explosion. Wait a minute and let’s take a look together. Behind me It was the center point of the Hiroshima atomic bomb explosion.
The U.S. military on August 6th and 9th, 1945 In Hiroshima and Nagasaki respectively An atomic bomb each dropped This is also the first time in human history It is also the only time so far use of atomic bombs in war Caused hundreds of thousands of deaths
Of course, it also contributed to the early end of World War II. Everyone must be curious Why was the building at the center of the atomic bombing Not destroyed yet In fact, when the atomic bomb was dropped, Did not detonate on the ground It was detonated in the air
This will affect a wider area So what about this building? It was not completely destroyed at that time Hello, what should I call you? stop him Nice to meet you, nice to meet you Are you from here? so where you come from here Yes, oh yeah
I live in Hiroshima, I live in Hiroshima Okay, oh i see What do you think of militarism? What would you describe as militarism? i think militarism is something kind of aggressive thinking for some kind of conflict to but i think to resolve their conflict
We have to stop fighting and talk to each other, we have to not fight talking each other Because the war makes people sad you don’t want to suffer those cruel situations, you don’t want to suffer those cruel situations
Maybe the enemy thinks the same thing, and maybe the other the enemy think the same thing so we don’t have to kill each other, kill each other Yes, yes exactly Now the world is full of the racism and nationalism and hatred
Do you think there will be the world war III, so do you think there will be the world war III I wish this planet will flee (World War III), I wish this planet will flee Because people are the same, because people are the same maybe now, maybe now
People are divided many ways like rich and poor many different races and religion, many different races and religion Each one of us was born to enjoy each lives, each one of us was born to enjoy each lives so i don’t think people have the right to
Damage other people’s peaceful lives, damage other people’s peaceful lives Yes, yeah you’re talking about the poor and rich So what’s the gap between the rich and poor in Japan, so what’s the gap between the rich and poor in Japan i think it’s bigger and bigger So the last What’s your desire for peace?
Do you have anything to say to the world? i mean do you have any message to the world now in Ukraine and Palestine, now in Ukraine and Palestinian The war is going on and maybe, the war going on and maybe china is widening its military force in Asian region
And so Japan is now the government is eager to prepare Japanese self defense stronger, eager to prepare Japanese self defense stronger But i don’t think to Protect small country like Japan, but i don’t think to Protect small country like Japan
We don’t need bigger weapons and war machines, we don’t need bigger weapons and war machines and Japan is as you know a lot of earthquakes and disasters, and disasters typhoon so i think we need more protection from those disasters Not for the war, not for the war
We want to live a peaceful entire planet, we want to live a peaceful entire planet Thank you, I hope so too, thank you i hope so I want the world to be a place where everyone can spend their life smiling do you think the World War III will be happen? “Japanese”
I think it’s important for us all to join hands How would you describe militarism? I think this is forced Since the Meiji Restoration Japan’s power is concentrated in the various feudal lords who overthrew the Tokugawa faction. In reality, it’s still a samurai concept. Coupled with the fear of threats from the West,
Finally adopted the Prussian idea expand outward Inward authoritarian political thought Also achieved victory in the Sino-Japanese and Japanese-Russian wars Intensify the trend of militarism The Great Depression in Japan after World War I The military seizes power Advocating external expansion and transferring internal contradictions Human Experimentation, Holocaust During World War II
“Kamikaze” death squads, seppuku All are manifestations of militarism What I want to tell future generations is if there is no peace in the world There’s nothing left Until the atomic bomb explodes The powerful class who would rather be broken into pieces than destroyed. I feel my life is threatened Immediately declare: unconditional surrender
Let you consider the overall situation Usually you happen to be the outsider Let you do whatever it takes Often you are the… “price” Old viewers of this channel should know I have been to many war places The injured are often civilians Displaced due to war Displaced
One of the causes of World War II It’s German Nazism Japanese militarism to the various wars now It is also populism after the epidemic In fact, they are all the same thing The powerful use populism to advocate war Create imaginary enemies The victims of war are often civilians. In their eyes, ordinary people
It’s just numbers So what we have to do Just be wary of populism and dictatorship Not to promote hatred

🙏🙏🙏❤🌏peace ✌️🕊🕊🕊

👍
Thank you for the sharing!
