TRIP DAY 11 | VILLAMAYOR DE MONJARDÍN TO TORRES DEL RIO | CAMINO FRANCES 2023
Just wanted to let you know that um all my life all 52 years that I could remember um I’m have fear of the darkness um I think um they scared kids in Asia so they don’t go out or something so constant fear um get scared and stuff so super
Scare of the darkness so that was me so my one of my reason to walk the Camino too I didn’t tell I didn’t really tell anyone I wanted to get over that um extreme fear okay there’s a few and I will reveal as we go along but today um day what day 11
Day 10 day 11 um it was my first test I wanted to get over and then um and I did it well maybe maybe I didn’t make it you’ll See With the Corn Flakes breakfast at Alor pretty nice spread got everything um bread you know know fud I grab an apple don’t forget always have an apple with you a bar easy access sprinkling a little Bit spring so here we go um I was really scared cuz this is an actual walking in the dark the first time ever actually by myself um I was actually shaking but I put on a brave face took my time trying I did try my best not to think about it
So I was thinking that’s the last streight Light last streight Light look and then it’s okay I survived right the first time I did good I think and it was raining too so This is scary a little structure I was like what is what was it and I screenshot it it’s a it was weird though at night I kind of rushed myself after the I know put a tail like a dog and start pushing myself I didn’t see anyone at all I was

Think I was talking about the structure um the history of lost Aros so now you have to go Google it yourself I love all the doors the beautiful doors and then uh scary alley so Los ago has um something special regarding um the structure and

You’ll see so he came from there that’s funny and then the lady I that lady that walk here I walk into town with with her and we were trying to communicate she couldn’t speak English at all so I try my best to um communicate with her very nice
Lady so there the guy took the ball and he got a dog so the ball actually was bigger than his dog so there’s some music loud music but it’s on and off on and off so I muted and then I asked the lady it was the music for
Me and she we laugh so I just walk in the town with Her so I told her that speaker is very very loud and she was Laughing I like L iOS I will stay there next time so she caught up finally and telling me um a little bit about the our lost iOS some I could understand some I couldn’t but look how beautiful the city I love it so walk she said walk with me over
There um I say and then I say no because um the the the direction I’m going there is that way the Camino way is that way and then she like and then we I say goodbye and she said bamino and I said thank you much
And then I found at the city center here I found a few friends and said hi I muted because it was just the the GoPro just keep failing me we had um Cafe conet and Isa caught up with me too so mhm so cute I miss her It’s pretty windy look at the not too bad but not like when we were out in the in the Field yeah too bad too bad GoPro failed me too Bad gorgeous Church say goodbye to ISA she went first and the car didn’t even stop she will keep rolling I was like what the hell but that’s normal over there so we keep walking to um senel and Tes Del R I really want to stay in Seno but the market didn’t have anything and so
And then I caught up with um Isa and so she said she’s just going to go to tus Theo so I walk with her so I think I say I can see to um sunel look how Windy this is just gorgeous just um beautiful and then we had to walk on the road um that sun Soul um in front of us on the hill of course on the hill beautiful though yeah next time I’m really going to stay in SEL I made it And of course I say going uphill of Course waving at ISA sitting at the bench by the church there’s a ther market right here but I went in and they didn’t have anything much so now I’m walking with Isa um we’re just chatting and picking on each other I really really miss her she’s back in her hometown finally in Europe
And actually I’m going to call her tomorrow we didn’t really see any car other than this one parking here And oh yeah oh my God it’s so cute it’s cute it’s cute 800 M tester Rio I’m sorry I do not know in miles it’s not that far normally I try to walk by myself because I’m slow and I hate making other people I don’t I I hate slowing
Everybody down seriously the whole time you see um I normally excuse myself and I feel bad because I love talking to good people you know but like Jamie I we were talking after where where was it we to walk out of um Pamplona together and we were having so
Much fun but I know I was slowing her down so I just excuse myself very nice lady this is a beautiful walk into Testo gorgeous and the wind wasn’t too bad and I’m with my my girl was we were having so much Fun We just reminiscing about our trip actually just talking about um what happen and stuff I believe I told her about my paa in Manu and then she was talking about excuse me oh her her um experience beautiful walk into town beautiful walk into town I really want to do this section
Again next trip if I ever had a chance to do um commo Francis again I’m going to do in section so I could like take my time walk only few miles and stay in town that I really like small towns there a few Big Town excuse me there’s a
Few big towns that I like too so finally look tester Rio we can see it now windy Somebody broke the sign there’s a guy over there so we say hi I think it’s a couple yeah Gorgeous I say yay we made it baby I I think I was telling her that um the only city that kind of annoyed me was Iraqi I if I say the wrong name sorry the one that um I we walk I had to walk up and there was nothing and it was uphill really really steep so
Okay we’re going to come up to this Alber that has pool and I suggest you stay there San Andreas or something y yep San Andreas so stay there because the one that she mentioned and we went the guy the host was mean I took a picture of this I don’t know why it’s
Always amused me that when they hang they cloth on the outside the house um so s Andrea stay there got a better and have a restaurant we ate there we ate dinner there and then the guy at um the aler that we stay that she wanted to
Stay um was mean to her so this one have better has better stars and have a better review okay so I got a nice pull and the restaurant was over there very nice you see my dinner that’s a kitty there and then then she said oh let’s go check out the other
One and then I fell for it so we went there and the guy was mean to ISA I didn’t understand anyway he was nice to me and the Korean lady so right here is the restaurant so we walk back and then the market right straight up right there there’s a d Market
There oh uphill of course so we stocked up at this um Market later on because I was planning to go to another small town and we never know if the market will be open or not Go stocked up when you can I mean this Alber La was actually nice but I didn’t like that the host was mean to my girl for no reason she’s a very very sweet lady like I’m going to take a Picture so this one have pull and very nice I mean again without the host situation I didn’t have any problem fun decoration and Everything and then once we PID he just showed us um Where we sleep and then say sorry slow down I mean I mean I’m slow and he say he Understand that’s bath bathroom our bedroom another bathroom and the Korean lady there I forgot her name Sorry I actually want to go back to the other Alber at first but I didn’t want to leave the Korean lady here because anyway doesn’t matter it was part of the experience that’s my bed and then we went to the went back to the restaurant I have salad it was good and

Camino Frances Day 8
EVERY STEP OF THE WAY!!!
I’ve walked over 500 miles/800 kilometers (over 1.1 million steps) of Camino Frances from France to Spain. Camino de Santiago Frances is an ancient pilgrim path across the north of the Iberian Peninsula.
✈️ I began my journey on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 from home in Washington State, USA.
🚶♀️ Started walking on Friday, October 13, 2023 from Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port, France.
🎒 I arrived in Santiago de Compostela, Spain on Wednesday, November 22, 2023. Took me 41 days. 💕
🌊 I traveled to Muxia, Fisterra, & Cee to see the Atlantic ocean.
✈️ I arrived back home on Wednesday, November 29, 2023! Total of 51 days.
🏋️♀️ I lost over 13 lbs. 👏 Gained a lot of strength & muscle. 💪🦵
This was my longest solo journey to date. Can hardly wait to walk other Camino routes and volunteer my time as a Hospitalora to help my fellow pilgrims along the Camino.
Thank you to my wonderful husband for telling me to go live my dreams of walking the Camino. ❤️
