Everything you need to know about BOTH TRAINS to Machu Picchu!
When traveling to Machu Picchu from Cusco you have two options when it comes to train companies Inca rail or Peru rail each has something special to offer like a private balcony car where you can go outside Observatory cars with Windows on the ceilings or a live ban and dance
Party area lucky for you I tried both of these companies so I can tell you everything you need to know when booking your once in a-lifetime trip to Machu Picchu let’s go so today we’re going to be taking Inca rail up to Machu Picchu or the town of AAS
So what I didn’t know when booking this was that you take a bus first on the bus a one-way ticket with Inca rail from Cusco to Machu Picchu or the city of AAS gentes cost us about $72 per person and it took about an hour and a half for the
First part on the bus to the Lookout Point and this is the Lookout Point and we have all the beautiful mountains with the snow it’s so PR pretty this was a great place for photos and they had a bathroom here and a couple vendors if you needed to buy
Anything it’s definitely cool up here and the wind was blowing there were um little food and snack things as well then you hop right back in the bus and they take you to the train station we just got dropped off by the bus from Cusco and now we get away in
Their little waiting room before our chain comes [Applause] H each one of the workers had a sign that had a letter on it and you would follow your letter down to the train station so as you can see it’s not that far you just walk right down and there are shops lining this whole area so if you needed
Anything before you went to AA Calientes you could totally get it there were lots of people when we went in the first week of April because it was Easter week I’m assuming I don’t know if there’s more people usually or this is pretty common but we just
Followed all the people to the cars and we were able to hop on our car and put our luggage away the ticket that we booked was called Voyager Class and I don’t know if that had a specific upgrade but it was the only option for this time when we booked and each person
Person has their own assigned seat that is printed on your ticket so it’s not like you have to get there early to reserve space for you and your family you know ahead of time where everyone Sitting I was actually super excited to take the train to AAS centes because I heard that it was a beautiful ride and it was so we had windows on top of this car and you’re able to see above as well as huge Windows alongside the whole seat
And then right at the end they did this um Incan song and dance and it was like a story that they did both in English and Spanish this is the train station at AAS centes when we got there at night and there were lots of people it was really
Packed and you can tell they were under construction so hopefully it gets updated ated soon and now we’re going to move on to Peru rail on the return trip from Machu Picchu we decided to go on Peru rail because we wanted to go on their Observatory Vista dome train this
Train station was set up a little bit differently where you had to show your ticket before you entered and you couldn’t go in unless you had a ticket it was right next to the market so if you wanted to get your last minute souven or anything you could inside
There are bathrooms here but there was only one restaurant area to buy food at so I feel like there weren’t as many amenities here and there wasn’t a lot of seating inside but you just come and wait for your train to be called and
They only do one at a time so this was our train and we were looking for the vistadome for a one-way ticket from AAS calentes back to Cusco on Peru rail with the Vista dome it was $119 USD per person but it did have a little nicer
Vibe to it they had music playing and a saxophone artist playing right outside the train as you were boarding and you could just tell things are going to be a smidgen nicer but I think overall the experience you will see was really fun here’s a look at their seats on Peru
Rail which was equally as nice as the incor rail train and they were pre-reserved so everyone had their own seat and you do not have to get there early to pick where you’re going to sit but this is why we picked this train so part of it actually there are larger
Windows than the other train that we went on with incor Rail and it is really really nice to have the big windows on top because you’re able to see Everything I was definitely ready to celebrate after going to Machu Picchu earlier that day so I got a little split of champagne but they also had a coffee cart and they did pass out a box of snacks that was complimentary that had healthy snacks like a granola bar and
Some quinoa cookies with a little bit of chocolate this is what you come to see this beautiful view and as you’re sitting down they tell you to come to the back of the car because this is where the observatory deck is so they have this open car with a cushion in the
Center that you can sit at and look out and at the back there is a little balcony that you can stand outside and taking the view I loved it back here I think this was totally worth booking this train on the way back just to be
Able to see this and view the sacred Valley like This then the party started H this was definitely the party train we had so much fun here and we didn’t even recognize that the time was almost up they told us to go sit down and there was a fashion show where you can buy the clothes that they were wearing let me
