What can $100 get in BUDAPEST (Budget Travel Guide 3 Days)

We just landed here in Budapest and we’re going to be doing a little bit more of a budget friendly travel today so we’re going to see what we can do in Budapest for under $100 or free when we look to get a view of the

Prices for any City we visit we want to know how much the average costs are for transport we like to know if it’s easy to get around a cup of coffee tea and a quick breakfast a meal out and about at a cafe for lunch or a fancier dinner at a local restaurant

Attractions like historical monuments museums Cathedrals or other places of interest that the city is for lodging what kind of lodging you can get on a budget and what you can do and see for free so we’ll be going over all of these and more during the

Vlog so we just landed here in Budapest and haven’t really explored the city yet we’re excited to kind of see what this is all about because we bought purchased our plane tickets a little bit on a whim without researching so we have no idea what’s in store but I’m excited and I

Wanted to get a view of the city first thing in the morning cuz it’s pretty early it’s only 7:30 so we’re going to head up a hill on the other side of the river maybe stop and get some coffee if we see anything on the way I don’t know should be fun hopefully

We’ve seen quite a few places just in the few blocks that we’ve gone with scooters so it seems like a pretty easy City to get around feel like a lot of cities have this noway but that’s good to Know Budapest is divided into two different regions Buddha on the west side and pest on the East Bank where most people opt to stay when visiting there’s several Bridges which you can cross and they are completely free and it’s a definite must to at least cross

One of them by foot because the danu river below is absolutely stunning we’re headed to the Buddha side today to check out Castle Hill but our first stop is of course to find coffee I have to say two thumbs Up oh That’s great coffee great Bagel sandwich good price about 13 bucks us nice Yeah so it’s 1,200 Hungarian which is like maybe seven how much is that so a little over $3 maybe 350 per person so go up on the upper level here right and I are going to just check it out down here I don’t know if we’ll feel like we need to go up

There think this is going to be a good enough View this is a very popular area for tourists and local to like so it’s best to get here in the morning because as you can see it is packed here the cool thing is to walk around is completely free there’s also a Christmas Market over here it’s just absolutely gorgeous

Especially to get views of the city I we definitely should come here early in the morning we’re heard it’s beautiful but it’s also beautiful to be here late at night CU you’ll get every to be able to see everything lit up from the other side of the river basically either side

Of the river at night where the light shine is supposed to be phenomenal this is cool eh yeah this is Great Wow okay can we get two tickets thank you we got tickets for the church year and there’s no tour we’re just going in by ourselves and it was 5,000 Hungarian which eques to just under 15 us it looks beautiful when researching online the best places to visit in

Budapest this church came up again and again and entering we can see why the architecture tiles paintings and intricate artwork fills every square inch of this place I have never seen a church that’s been decorated like this it’s I don’t know how to describe it it’s just it’s just really incredible it’s

Amazing everywhere you look there’s something fascinating to Marvel at and it’s easy to get lost just looking around we stayed here for about an hour just looking in awe at Everything So I thought that was that was a really interesting I’ve never been to a church like that I think interesting is the perfect word for that cuz uh it was just so unique the all the artwork on the on the wall that was definitely like a must

Stop I can see why that was on the list of like things to definitely check out okay food food yes Brian and I want to try as many places as possible but we’re also trying to see you know just kind of what a good budget is so we’re just hopping into

More places and just sharing everything that way we can attract more Stuff R Brown add it again folks oh look more Stairs for our fellow veggie friends who are vegetarian vegan or just like that kind of food there is a plentiful amount here in pass which was a wonderful surprise a guy that I met last year in the Cino also told me that I wouldn’t have any issue finding stuff here and it

Was crack there’s always vegan food lots of vegan restaurants To that was so nice it tasted just like a homemade healthy food and it was probably one of our bre best priced meals so we had um you only could get basically they just had like one menu for lunch so we got a soup and then

Um kind of like a doll and then I had three lentil patties then we also had what kind of like a kiche and then we also had a piece of cake and then we had two drinks and it was $23 which equates to about 7,800 Hungarian that’s really good really well

Priced I think if we were in the US that it would have easily been like $60 easily as you can see probably from this video if you’re going downtown um then it’s going to be more expensive but if you go just a little outside of downtown

It’s so much cheaper so you could really eat here hang out here and spend like Max per person like you $100 you can make glass for I would say several days I think so yeah area yeah and there’s so much free stuff to do so that’s really

Cool to to know like this is I think a really great budget country at least the best budget country we’ve been to even compared to Mexico really yeah I would say while here in Budapest we ate at several more places to get an idea of all the different price points the fanciest

Dinner we had was at taty Farm to Table it was $88 for2 drinks two appetizers two Entre and one dessert it was one of the best meals we’ve ever had while traveling and for a fancy date night it was pretty inexpensive in the US that would have been at least double the

Price another fanish place we like was mlof a ruin bar/ restaurant this was just about $60 for two appetizers and two Entre we also tried a laid-back ruin bar beastro for dinner one night and that was only $17 for two giant Entre and all we feel like budgeting $ 7

To $15 an entree would be more than enough depending on what level of dining experience you were looking for the next stop we have today is the Labyrinth underground cave tour this has been something I’ve been most excited about about everything we’ve been doing here in Budapest because it’s an underground cave system

Which I really like usually we don’t film them cuz they’re too dark for us to film but I like a little bit of Gothic dark history underneath the city of Budapest lies a very elaborate Cave System the caves were originally used as Sellers and for storing Water by the citizens

And were actually connected to people’s houses later on they were also used by the military and as a hospital afterwards the case became a place for people to come and party but now are open for the public to tour if you like history then this is a great look into budapest’s

Past and was much better than we had Expected it was too dark for us to film outside after that Labyrinth gave to but that was really awesome it’s such an elaborate cave system in there yeah long day it was a long day a lot of walking I think we did about seven miles every day

We’ve been doing about six seven miles here yeah we’ve been getting good good exercise we’re done for the night we have another day tomorrow yay we’ll see you then so I’m going to show you all our place we rented this off of flao which is kind of like Airbnb for Nomads but we

Got this place for only $38 8 USD per night which is great this is our living room Brian’s doing some stuff he couch area to work out we come in we have these big closets and then we have our bed and then there’s this big entryway which is nice we have our

Bathroom really nothing special it’s just a bathroom toilet of course and then we have this big kitchen and a dining room table in here too so all of this for $38 I think Budapest is extremely budget friendly if you want to know more about flao click

This card up here if you don’t see it it’s just because we haven’t added the video yet anyways you can definitely check out more information though in the description below this is a really nice train place soon okay even though this is is a busy time

Of day it’s not even that crowded this is great A yeah it won’t let me hit a so oh maybe it’s this One no not that one either noide grocery store luggage storage that’s nice there’s a luggage storage here you guys well be and I were only interested in purchasing tickets for one ride Budapest has a really great online ticketing system for tourists and locals alike if you want to purchase a single

Ticket ahead of time or unlimited 24-hour or 72-hour travel cards you can do so using their app they also have a 15-day and monthly passes as well Budapest also offers a Budapest card for tourists if you plan to visit a lot of museums and want free or discounted

Entry to museum sightseen tours over 30 free attractions and services then this may be an economical way to see the city this is a great budget friendly way to see boo Budapest if you plan to visit the attractions listed on the site if not then I would say probably not we

However chose our itinerary and it was cheaper to do so without buying the Budapest card the amount of these cards will vary greatly depending on what you want to see and how long you are in Budapest as the cards are time sensitive I was really cold walking across that bridge really

Cold how are you feeling so great that was cool this looks really cool wow look at this I thought it would be fun to come here to the Citadel I’m Budapest is full of free things to do and this is one of them and it’s a great vantage point I

Mean the views are magnificent Budapest is a pretty beautiful city from what we’re seeing so The Citadel was built in 1851 but I thought it was kind of odd about it what I read it was that it was originally built to frighten the citizens um but now they see it as a

Symbol of freedom from what I read online so how true that is I’m not sure but I thought that was pretty Interesting this is so beautiful here right now So this next stop is the cave church and I don’t know too much about it yet but basically it’s a chapel inside a series of caves it looks really impressive from the outside this small still functioning Chapel is located in yet another cave system from what I could understand from

The audio guide we were given this is a historically important religious site and was once home to a Hermit monk the Pauling monks still worship here from what I understand though at one point during World War I this cave church was used as a hospital but the Communist

Regime sealed the church postwar with concrete for nearly 40 years it then reopened in 1989 after the fall of Communism the interior of the church is definitely interesting albeit not that beautiful but we thought this was just another cool stop in Budapest to learn more about the history of this place it

Just kind of kept going I thought it was just like a little spot but it just kind of kept going to all these little caves and that was neat yeah there’s a lot of people in there and it is a small space since it is a cave this is one thing I

Would come and do early but I thought the price point for what it was was really good and just the history was really fascinating and okay we’re going to try another coffee shop cuz Brian needs pick me up and see how this one is in price point how is this one thank you Yeah so how was this round as far as the cost my long black was just like $2.50 roughly your latte was $4 yeah po $69 so was about $15 which is about $4,900 in Hungarian currency so what we’re kind of noticing so far is everything at this point in time making

This video everything is about 50% less than the price is in the US for food and drinks thus far that’s pretty good my God that toast was so good miss and that sour crutd sour Crut was excellent It’s got really cold all of a sudden it got real cold and it’s

Windy it looks like it’s going to rain Hungary is famous for their thermal baths everyone needs to try at least one bath house when visiting here and today we are headed to one of the most famous though there are more than 120 bath houses in Budapest alone

Each bath is unique and all are priced differently though we paid $25 each for our visit today this is one of the more expensive bath houses from what we saw online there were multiple pools saunas and steam rooms all at various temperatures some places you can stay

All day and others you will have a shorter amount of time be sure to check out the links in the description below to get pricing on the various popular thermal Baths This morning we are headed to the shoes on the danu bank they are a memorial and a monument to the 3500 people 800 of them Jew who were shot on the banks of the danu river by the members of the aeroc Cross party during the second World War

They were ordered to take off their shoes and were shot at the edge of the water so that their bodies fell into the river and were carried away while Budapest is filled with history this for Brian and I was the most emotional and touching part of our travels

Here across from the monument lies Parliament where you can take in the stunning architecture from the large Plaza outside Budapest is famous for their Christmas markets and there’s two of them here in the city center so we’re going to go check them out and hope yeah let’s check it Out wa see do you see those Pret some mold wine right here do you want mold wine yeah We found mold wine well actually there’s a lot of stalls that have mold wine but this kind of looks the most romantic so we got one red one white wo that’s so much better than I thought it was going to be this is like perfect you got to try

This is so cool they roll it in front of you they cook it in front of you this is the only place we found that’s doing it this way this is so cool yeah this is awesome and the chimney cake here they’re all about the same price they’re

About 2500 to 3,000 ours is going to be 3,000 and we’re going with pistachio oh that’s what call a chimney cake God look at that that thing yeah yeah I up yeah I don’t know how somebody could eat this all though I that was awesome let’s get Another This is probably my favorite stall so Far Easy What was that that was so much fun little workout there and bringing out Hammer you looked great you looked tough that was cool well I hope this video has been helpful for all of you to learn what you can do in Budapest for under $100 I think we did pretty good I think

We did good yeah we’ll see you all next week bye Guys

We’re in Budapest to see what we can do, see, eat, and where we can stay for UNDER $100 (or FREE!). After booking tickets to Budapest on a whim we decided to see just how budget-friendly this European country truly is (spoiler alert: it WAS!).

  1. Merry Christmas Everyone 🎄 We think Budapest is definitely an underrated European Travel Destination! We loved being able to stretch our budget so far and getting to see so much of the city without having to pay THOUSANDS while there. We would suggest pairing this trip with Prague if you can too! And December was a great time to go – B and I are still dreaming of that Chimney Cake… 🙂

  2. Thanks for sharing the actual prices and highlight recommendations. I also viewed your Amazon store today and recommended travel insurance. I’m curious about your recent housesit. Is this a one time thing or are you doing these to help you travel and fund expenses.

  4. Always a great video, you guys. It’s nice to see your perspective of places I’ve been but often was so busy with the planning and managing family that I now see I didn’t really get to enjoy it. You really do such a great job. Merry Christmas 🎄♥️🎄

  5. Great Budapest vlog, one of my favourite capital cities in Europe. And the foood omg you made me miss visiting BP, great to learn of alternative accommodations thank you 😊 Happy holidays sweet people 😊 ❤
