Was Dubai’s Biggest Indoor Park Worth The Money? 🤔 – IMG Worlds of Adventure VLOG 2023

This is Dubai’s biggest indoor amusement  park. That’s right! I went to the UAE and   was able to finally tick off some parks  from my theme park bucket list in Dubai   and Abu Dhabi and in the next seven episodes  I’m taking you guys with me while exploring

These new territories. Now, today that  journey begins at IMG Worlds of Adventure So, here we are at IMG Worlds of Adventure.  Oh, I’m so excited for this. Really! Okay, the car’s parked. We have arrived. IMG  Worlds of Adventure is an indoor park that opened

Up in 2016 and houses some world class dark rides,  some cool thrill rides and exhilarating roller   coasters making it, together with a lot of other  big theme parks here in the United Arab Emirates,   actually one of the highlights for every theme  park enthusiast visiting the whole area here

Actually. And although the name of the park  might not immediately ring a bell for a lot   of people outside of the theme park community,  some of the themed areas are actually based on   very well-known brands. But more on that later.  Now, the park is situated quite remotely from

The busier areas in the city, so you have to  come here by taxi or rental car. But luckily   it’s located right next to a highway which is  I believe the Sheikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Road.   I hope I pronounced that right. As you can  see this place also has a huge parking lot,

So that’s great. Now, entrance to IMG Worlds of  Adventure for an adult will cost you around 345   AED which is 86 euros or 94 US dollars.  So that’s certainly not a cheap park,   but let’s get inside and check out if this  park is actually worth that steep price tag.

So, here we are on IMG Boulevard, which is like  the main street of this park and one of the the   five themed areas here. Other themed zones are  the Kids Zone, but I will not be spending a

Lot of time there, or the Cartoon Network zone  with some rides based on popular TV shows like   for example The Powerpuff Girls. And next  to this we also have a Marvel themed zone,   which is kinda surprising considering the fact  that we’re not in a Disney or Universal park.

But anyway. But the area I’m mostly excited about  actually is, to be honest, Lost Valley, home to   the two biggest coasters of this park. Predator,  a Gerstlauer Euro Fighter, and Velociraptor,   a Mack launch coaster, which is basically a clone  of Blue Fire in Europa Park. And it’s actually

The only ride that actually goes outside of the  park, so yeah. Let’s go check our first ride here. So, Avengers: Battle of Ultron is one of the  many dark rides here in this park. It’s right   there before us. I honestly did not look at  any videos about this ride so I can’t really

Tell what I’m about to experience to be honest,  but I’ll let you know once we come of the ride. This is empty. What the hell. So, we just went on Avengers: Battle of  Ultron. It was really cool actually. I

Really enjoyed that. So Avengers: Battle of  Ultron. It’s actually a very cool dark ride.   It’s a very cool mix of practical effects, of  practical sets and 3D screens and such and the   movement of the car and such and the level of  theming is really high and it’s very similar to

Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man in Orlando,  so it’s very similar to that one. Very nice   one. So really great first ride here in IMG  Worlds of Adventure. Okay, that being said:   first ride is done. Let’s try out some more here,  as this Marvel area of course houses some more

Incredible rides. Next up is Hulk: Epsilon Base  3D, which is a mix between a simulator and a 3D   cinema actually. So you’re basically seated on a  giant moving ring with seats facing inwards and   you’re surrounded by a giant screen with a lot  of action going on there. So let’s check it out.

Okay, that was by far the best simulator/3D  kind of cinema thing I ever did so far. It’s   really cool, because of the 360° screen,  because of the motion of the base and the   base is also turning around very fast. The  screen could be a little bit brighter maybe.

It was not that bright. But it’s really cool.  Okay but this park also has some more thrilling   rides next to dark rides and simulators  obviously. And if you think about Marvel,   Thor is actually one of the characters  that cannot be missing. In IMG Worlds of

Adventure you are able to feel the power of  the thunder god thanks to this amazing top   spin you see on the right here. Look at this.  And yes, for those familiar with top spins:   that looks scarily similar to Talocan in  Phantasialand actually, which is kind of

Funny actually. But I’m really, really looking  forward to this top spin. Let’s check it out. That was really so cool. I really love top  spins like this, but this one is very similar   to Talocan in intensity. It’s really a great  one. It’s really good. Really enjoyed this one.

Okay, but this could potentially be my favorite  ride here in this Marvel area. It’s Spiderman: Doc   Ock’s Revenge and it’s a Mack spinning coaster.  It’s not an extreme spinning coaster, just like   Time Traveler or Ride to Happiness, but more like  Le Twist at Le PAL, or the new spinning coaster

Coming to Epic Universe in Orlando soon. And I  got to say: I love Mack spinning coasters, so   already kind of hyped for this one. And recently I  heard from some people that this ride is actually   really good so that makes me even more hyped.  So without further do, I’m going to ride this.

It’s a recurring theme here: very empty. Not sure what we’re counting down here. I guess  until another guest comes, not sure. So, there it goes: Spiderman: Doc Ock’s Revenge,  which is really a really fun spinning coaster   actually. It’s the same model as Sierra  Sidewinder at Knott’s Berry Farm. I think at

Paulton’s Park in the UK there’s a similar model  as well. It’s really a fun one. It’s quite fast,   it’s quite intense. The spinning is not that  extreme, but it’s okay. It’s a bit short maybe,   so it could be a little bit longer. Is it better  than for example Dwervelwind and Le Twist? Not

Sure, it’s a bit similar. Just different,  it’s just different. But I really like this   one. It just could be a little bit longer,  yeah. All right, next area on the horizon:   the Lost Valley. This dinosaur themed area houses  some rides which look pretty amazing actually. Two

Big roller coasters, one dark ride which is said  to be a really beautiful one too. And the whole   setting here makes this area even more cool to  walk around in. Thanks to the roof, it looks more   like you’re walking around in a Jurassic Park  at night time, making the atmosphere a bit more

Frightening of course. I mean, look at this.  With all the dinosaurs and such. There’s even   a dinosaur at the roof here, at the top. Look at  this. This is so cool. That’s cool, yeah, really cool. I think this is a Brontosaurus, but I’m  not sure. I don’t know anything about dinosaurs.

And speaking about Jurassic Park: let’s try  out Forbidden Territory here on the right.   This is another dark ride here at IMG Worlds  of Adventure, based on dinosaurs and such,   I believe. But again: not sure. I’m really looking  forward to see what this ride has to offer. Wow,

Wow, this looks really cool, this queue. With  the music, it’s very adrenaline pumping. Oh,   we’re already there I think. Wow, that was a  short line compared to the other ones. Okay, so Forbidden Territory here: really, really  cool dark ride. It actually features a lot

Of screens but also a lot of practical  effects, like animatronics from dinosaurs   and such. It’s a mix between the earlier  one we had, the Avengers ride with the   motion base ride system/ride vehicle and it’s  also very reminiscent to Dinosaur actually in

Walt Disney World. It’s a bit of mix of both.  Very, very nice. Now, let’s move on to this   ride here. On the right here there’s Predator,  a Gerstlauer Euro Fighter coaster. You know,   Euro Fighters are kind of special to me actually,  as my passion for theme parks actually started

When following the construction online of Typhoon  in Bobbejaanland in Belgium, which was the second   Euro Fighter in the world back in 2004. Many, many  years ago. And since then there have been a lot,   yeah, better Euro Fighter coasters, but still,  and I know that’s crazy, Typhoon is the only

Euro Fighter I actually did so far. So yeah, let’s  see how this one compares to the good old Typhoon. So that was Predator, my second Euro  Fighter. Was it good? It was better   than expected actually. It’s not as rough as  Typhoon. It’s pretty smooth actually. There

Is like one moment where it’s a little bit less  smooth, but it was not that hard as I expected,   because I heard from other people that  moment was really like ‘Raaargh’, but   to me it felt pretty okay. It’s not  that hard. But it’s short , it’s very short.

But Predator is not the biggest coaster in  this park. No, that spot is reserved here   for Velociraptor. It’s this way apparently. As  said earlier this launch coaster from Mack Rides   is actually a clone of Blue Fire in Europa Park.  So nothing new. But yeah, I still cannot wait to

Ride this one actually as Blue Fire is still a  really good coaster in my opinion. Very curious   how this one will compare in terms of smoothness  and such, and it’s going to be strange actually to   actually go outside again, because we were inside  here in the air conditioning for so long already,

Into the darkness. So yeah, let’s  see how this one goes. Here we go. And again: an empty huge queue. What is  this? Jesus Christ. If they ever built new coasters or new rides they shouldn’t  make lone queues, that’s for sure.

I have a feeling you’re walking a lot more in  this park than actually doing rides. But it’s   nicely themed. It’s like a forest kind of thing,  I guess it is. Funny thing is I have to look how

To walk by looking at my phone because I don’t  have my glasses on. It’s a bit dark here. It’s   darker in real life than it looks on the video  actually. Thanks to the amazing iPhone. Jesus, this keeps going this queue. It’s a bit cold  here, with the air conditioning actually. Yeah,

I’m really a summer person. I really don’t like  cold, but maybe today that’s not that bad. It’s   better to walk in air conditioning than in hot 30°  probably. I feel like I’m walking a marathon here.

I think we’re there. Yes, look at that. And this  is where you come back inside after the ride. There’s a bit like a dark ride  scene here. Very similar to Blue Fire. Different of course because  of the dinosaurs. Oh, this is cool.

It’s a screen. Are we going to launch right  next to a dinosaur? I guess so. Oh my God,   I’m scared of the heat outside. Here we go. It’s not as smooth as Blue Fire. So, Velociraptor: done! It’s just the same as Blue Fire, but it’s  not as smooth as Blue Fire actually. Blue Fire

Is a lot smoother. I guess it’s the heat outside  here. I was expecting a bigger difference between   the heat inside and heat outside. That was pretty  okay actually. Did I enjoy it? I enjoyed it,   I enjoyed it for sure. I enjoy Blue Fire a lot,  so this one is very comparable…it’s the same,

So yeah. But a little less smooth. But it’s  not unbearable or anything. It’s just a little   less smooth. But it’s really a nice coaster. If  you come here, you should definitely do it. Is   it the best coaster in Dubai? I’m not sure  yet. It’s my best coaster so far in Dubai,

But it’s the first real park I’m doing here so  yeah. And from all these amazing rides here,   I’m getting a little bit hungry, so let’s  start with looking for some food. Maybe here,   maybe somewhere else. We’ll have to see.

We’re having some Indian food, An all you can eat buffet. Looks really good. So, after bringing  our energy levels back up after some food,   it’s time for some more fun here, but maybe not  too wild, with our stomachs full of food. Now,

The Cartoon Network area here is the perfect fit  actually, with some fun rides, which are not too   wild. First ride we’re doing here is The Amazing  Ride of Gumball. It’s an interactive darkride,   that’s all I know. So let’s see how this one  is going to be like. But let’s find it first.

I already see the ride. It’s right there.  I think. Although I could be wrong. Ah,   there it is: The Amazing Ride of Gumball. We’re  back at school. I feel 15 years old. Although   my school didn’t look like this actually. Not at  all. So, that was The Amazing Ride of Gumball. I’m

Pretty bad at shooting darkrides, that’s for sure.  I had someone with me who was a lot better with   it. He had a lot more points, but I blame the fact  that I was filming while I was shooting. I guess,

If we do it again, I will be better at it. We’ll  have to see. But more on that later. Second try   on the ride and I was a winner. I was a winner  with 50,000 points and you had 39,000 points?

But I was a winner this time, because I wasn’t  filming. So we definitely know for sure I’m the   better shooter. Oh, there’s a train coming here.  I almost got run over by a train. It’s the same

Train like they had in the Dubai Mall, I think.  So, what are we going to do next? We’re going   to do the Powerpuff Girls Mojo’s Robot Rampage.  Let’s see. So, here we are at Powerpuff Girls:   Mojo JoJo’s Robot Rampage. I know, that’s a  mouthful. Even after we already had lunch. Now,

This kind of ride is not new to me. It’s a  Zamperla Air Race ride and after experiencing   similar rides at Bagatelle and Walygator in  France or Tivoli in Copenhagen for example,   I already know I am in for a great time here, as  this ride’s just so much fun. Now knowing from

The former ones I did, I know these type  of rides are very disorienting actually   and the hang time is crazy, but it’s always a  pleasure to experience this type of ride again. Okay, I feel my Indian food again. It  was a bit disorienting. It’s a fun ride,

But just don’t do it after your  lunch. Next ride’s right there:   it’s…oh sorry… it’s Ben 10 5D Hero Time. I guess  it’s a 5D cinema. Sounds kinda obvious. We’ll have   to see what it is. Ok, the 5D Cinema is in half  an hour, so we’re going to do that later. First,

Let’s do this one then. I have no clue what  this is, but we’ll see. The Ride of OOO. That was kinda boring. It’s nice  for kids, but it’s kinda boring. Okay, so that 5D cinema was kind of boring  to be honest. The person I’m with here,

He was actually sleeping while the  film was playing. It’s with 4D seats,   so the seats move very much, but still  he was able to sleep very good. But the   the movie was kind of boring . It was way too  long. I don’t know anything about Ben 10, so

I don’t know what the story was about, I don’t  know the characters, it was not really my kind   of stuff. Not for me. I’m not that much a fan  of 5D cinemas anymore. They’re all the same. They’re all…yeah…kinda boring.

Okay, so we did all the rides here at IMG Worlds  of Adventure. I really enjoyed it. It’s a nice   indoor park. It’s not the best of the best. The  rides are not crazy good or anything like that.

It’s a fun park. It has some fun rides. It’s just  enjoyable, but it’s nothing, yeah…Some rides are   world class maybe, like Forbidden Territory and  such, that’s a really good darkride and the Marvel   area is also really nice. Cool rides there. But  the rest is more like, yeah, pretty standard.

The theming is okay, the theming looks pretty  fine actually. But the rest is just, yeah, it’s   nice to be here, but it’s just good for once in  a few years, I guess. Nothing to do every year or

Especially not a few times a year or anything like  that. So, but overall really enjoyed it here. The   food options are pretty good actually, the Indian  buffet was really good, the fact that it’s indoor   here in Dubai is also very enjoyable actually with  the air conditioning and such. So yeah, really,

Really had a fun day. But now there’s one more  thing which you have to experience if you come   here to IMG Worlds of Adventure but it’s actually  not inside of IMG Worlds of Adventure. Follow me. So, we’re leaving IMG Worlds of Adventure now.  You’re probably wondering: “what is going on?”,

Because there was still one thing left.  But what is this little extra? Well,   if you’re visiting IMG Worlds of Adventure,  there’s something right next door which you   cannot skip if you’re here in Dubai and that  is….Global Village! Global Village is a vibrant

Entertainment location full of shops, dining  locations and even some amusement park rides,   situated almost next to IMG Worlds of Adventure.  And it’s really like taking a world tour actually.   So for those who went to Epcot already  and experienced World Showcase there:

The idea is very similar, although in Dubai here  it’s mostly separated in three parts. You have the   rides part, the shopping part and the food part.  And that last one is actually why you absolutely   have to visit this place, as you can experience  tastes from all over the world here apparently,

Trying out new stuff and such. So this is for  sure the place to be for any foodie out there. But for theme park enthusiast, this  is of course the reason to come here,   which is all these rides here. There’s actually  two coasters here. There’s an SBF Visa coaster,

Which is not really that spectacular,   but there’s also a Vekoma family boomerang  coaster here, which I really want to try out. So, after spending a full day inside of IMG Worlds  of Adventure, it’s actually a welcoming addition   actually to end the day here at Global Village.  The vibrant atmosphere, the amazing food options.

It makes me feel again why I love to travel  actually. To see other places around the world,   getting to know other cultures, trying out new  food. This is just what life is about for me.   Finding happiness and experiencing new stuff. And  today was only the start of that on this trip,

Because there’s so much more to experience here  in Dubai. But that’s for another video. See yah!
