5 Great Winter and Christmas Holiday Experiences in Europe
Summer has always been the favorite season for holidays, and even those who travel in winter usually prefer warm destinations like the tropics. Yet, winter has so many experiences to offer, especially in Europe, activities that will undoubtedly become indelible memories in
Your mind. In this video, we want to give you five great ideas for unique experiences that you can have in Europe precisely in winter or at Christmas. And let’s start with Hungary! Number 1: Warm up at one of Budapest’s famous thermal bathhouses.
One of the most sought-after activities in Budapest during winter is immersing oneself in a warm thermal bath, the most famous of which are the Széchenyi Baths. If you love chess, you can literally play it on the water, as it is a tradition in Budapest’s baths to play chess on
A floating chessboard. If you enjoy skating, you can’t miss the ice rink in City Park, boasting an impressive area of 12,000 square meters. An ideal lunch break can be taken at Budapest’s grand Central Market, a must-visit for all street food enthusiasts. In the evening,
You can’t miss the Ruin Bars, unique and characteristic venues located in abandoned or dilapidated buildings. These bars offer an eclectic and artistic atmosphere, often decorated with vintage items and unusual pieces. Lastly, we cannot fail to mention that Budapest hosts one of
The most beautiful Christmas markets in Europe, as we have already shown in the dedicated video. Number 2: Admire the beautiful Northern Lights in Abisko, Sweden. It is truly worth visiting Abisko National Park during winter, not only because the snow makes
This park in northern Sweden truly magical but also because from October to the end of March is the ideal time to admire the Northern Lights. In fact, Abisko is one of the privileged places on the planet to witness the Northern Lights, mainly due to the clear skies this area offers.
Due to the configuration of the surrounding mountains and the air currents that form, Abisko has the highest likelihood of having clear and cloudless skies, making it the ideal destination for those seeking this wonderful experience. Moreover, it is well-connected
By train and buses that can take you from Kiruna Airport, located 100 km to the south, to the park, from where, if you wish, you can take a chairlift to reach the Aurora Sky Station, an observation post for the Northern Lights located on the summit of Mount Nuolja, over 1000 meters high.
Number 3: Bask in the sunshine in Andalucía, Spain. If you’re not particularly fond of the cold, then you can’t miss winter and Christmas in Andalusia. This wonderful region in southern Spain offers fairly mild temperatures even in the winter
Months, ranging from 15 to 20 degrees Celsius during the day, or 59 to 68 degrees Fahrenheit. Accommodation is affordable, and crowds are smaller at major attractions like the Alhambra in Granada and the cathedral in Seville. If you enjoy socializing, the nightlife in the cities
Is always enticing, with many establishments open late where you can enjoy excellent tapas and live music. And if you also love skiing, you can head to the Sierra Nevada near Granada, a mountain range famous for its imposing peaks, snowy landscapes in winter, and its ski resort.
Number 4: Enjoy the archaeological sites of Athens without the crowd. This is a great experience that you can only enjoy in winter. In fact, only during this season can you appreciate the archaeological wonders of Athens in peace, without all the
Crowds. A must-visit attraction is the Acropolis of Athens, an ancient citadel that houses some of the most important and well-preserved buildings of ancient Greece, such as the Parthenon and the Erechtheion. The Parthenon is an ancient temple from the fifth century BC dedicated to Athena and
Is one of the most recognizable symbols of Greece. The Erechtheion, on the other hand, is an ancient temple characterized by the Porch of the Caryatids, six columns sculpted in the form of women. We recommend reaching the Acropolis by ascending from Plaka,
A beautiful neighborhood in Athens characterized by narrow, cobblestone streets and the presence of excellent taverns where you can taste authentic Greek food, such as a warm Moussaka. Before revealing the fifth idea, if you enjoyed this video, we kindly ask you to

We’re talking about the magical Carnival of Venice, a celebration that transcends time and transports you to a world of mystery and splendor. Originating in the Middle Ages, the Carnival is renowned for its elaborate masks, allowing revelers to escape social norms. One of
Its highlights is the historic ‘Flight of the Angel,’ a spectacle where an acrobat descends from St. Mark’s Campanile to the center of Piazza San Marco. This tradition adds an exhilarating and awe-inspiring dimension to the festivities. Over its 18 days of celebration, it attracts approximately one million visitors, peaking at 150,000 per day,
Captivating both locals and visitors with its spectacular performance. These are just a few of the many experiences you can have in winter in Europe. Hello everyone! Here are five beautiful experiences that we recommend you to do in Europe during winter, especially during the Christmas season. Do you recommend any others? Write it in the comments!
I live near Venice, but I have never been to the carnival!! 😭😭
I have already been to the thermal baths in Budapest, although not in winter. It was really beautiful! And it's true that there are chess games on the water, and many people play.
