Turkey’s Antalya is a tourist town with beaches surrounded by big hotels and an Old Harbor full of yachts. It serves as an entry point to Turkey’s southern Mediterranean coast, which is dubbed the Turquoise Coast because of its azure seas. There are traces of Antalya’s former prominence as a Roman port. These include the 2nd-century Hidirlik Tower, which offers views of the port, and Hadrian’s Gate, which was constructed in remembrance of the Roman emperor’s visit in 130 A.D.
