Berlin Walking Tour | Boulevard Unter den Linden | Brandenburg Gate | 4K

The Brandenburg Gate is an early classicist triumphal gate that was completed in 1793 as the end of the central boulevard Unter den Linden. The gate is the only one of Berlin’s 18 remaining city gates. Unter den Linden is a boulevard in Berlin’s Mitte district that runs between the Forum Fridericianum and Pariser Platz.

Created in 1573 under Elector Johann Georg as a bridle path from the City Palace to the Tiergarten, it was fortified and planted with lime trees in 1647 under Elector Friedrich Wilhelm.

Today, Straße unter den Linden is one of the city’s most popular sights and is lined with souvenir shops, hotels, restaurants and historic buildings. We are crossing Friedrichstraße, another well-known street with sights and shopping opportunities. Our walk along Friedrichstraße is linked in the top right-hand corner and in the text below the video.
