That will feel like it slows down in the Pyrenees a little once it gets you know hard again and out in the mountains and whatever but maybe not maybe it’s just fast I don’t know time is an illusion I have just arrived in carason officially the end of stage four and that’s it

Have memories of my friends sword fighting in cor carcassone with these like wooden swords if I could pull a picture of little 17-year-old Lauren here I’m sure you’d all get a good laugh but those are printed in some box I don’t know in some storage unit back in Alberta so

But kind of funny to be back here like you know 15 years later or whatever it Is Took a bit of a detour here I ended up taking the train to too where a friend of a friend was hosting me for a couple of nights so that I could go see a rugby game which is something I’d wanted to do ever since high school when I played

Rugby so this was quite a fun little side trip it’s also always nice to be indoors when there’s a thunderstorm going on so I was grateful for That I just got back from my uh first rugby game in too and that was very cool this is terrible lighting I’ll just do this when I get home all right it’s super early again I’m headed back to the trail I got to go to the train station this

Morning I got all my gear my new shoes going to swap them out and uh yeah get back to the trail after two days of chilling this is really nice necessary but now we’re on to the last stretch just keep cruising quite a difference here look at this there’s nothing left they’re just

Flat compared to these guys get their grip back I’m back in kassan just had some breakfast and I’m technically on the trail just getting through the city to get back into the woods or something I don’t know but it’s very windy and it’s cold now very strange to go like heat waves and

Like actually being Cold I don’t know if I’ll include this I crying on camera is so weird but not crying it’s just a little teary I just like standing there listening to music taking pictures of these like Vineyards with a castle behind them and these like cloudy blue beautiful skies I just I’m

So happy this Trail has been so incredible and I’m like starting the last you know couple of stages like this big final section going into the Pyrenees and I’m just so grateful to be out here and it’s so beautiful I’m just having the best time and for whatever reason that little

Moment just was was like my heart it just melted yeah that’s all look at this water park thing this looks so Fun I wouldn’t do aone like Solo in the cold but just waiting for backck rock rock rock rock Rock okay well I just uh hiked about 30 km from carason and now I’m going down into this small town where I am going to meet someone from from Tik Tok who offered to host me tonight so it’s probably a shorter day than I would have

Done um but such a fun thing to be able to stay with someone um that’s been following Along on Tik Tok um and to be hosted by like a French family that’s super fun I haven’t done that yet and was super kind of them to reach out and

Offer to host me today and so yeah that’s where I’m going to go hang out now so shout out to Agata and her family Agatha and her family were such incredibly generous hosts they set me up in my own room shared their French wine with me and even cooked me a delicious

Lasagna for dinner as it turns out they are family of Travelers and love to host other Travelers so it was a really fun experience swapping stories and getting to know their Journey a little bit more they also made an incredible breakfast spread in the morning for me and packed

Me a lunch to take on the trail I could not be more grateful for their Hospitality that was such a fun evening they were like just the nicest people above and beyond I had my own room they made me dinner I got lasagna and they had dessert and then they made banana bread and sent me with a bunch of slices I

Came up this morning and the whole table was like covered in every food I think they think like they would think that I could eat and they made me lunch to take with me and amazing just the kindest people and they’re strangers like I don’t know these people

I know them now but yeah they just invited me into their home and completely took care of me I just think that’s amazing so thank you if you’re ever seeing This is a very windy day Go for thege holy crap pH my eyeballs almonds on this tree I guess there are sweet ones and bitter ones though and I don’t know what are I’m trying to hide from the wind but it’s not working but they packed me they boil some eggs sent me on my way with some

Walnut bread and eggs so nice they’re just the loveliest people um it’s pretty easy hiking this morning except for the dang wind which you can definitely hear it’s so windy I was just being pushed over the whole time anyway my plan is to do like 45 km

Am going to go eat some food at the grocery store in a couple hours uh last night camped in a beautiful Valley uh with uh Vincent who’s a French hiker that I met a couple days ago so that has been fun also bumped into Xavier’s a section hiker on the on the hexit

Truck uh but he stopped to Camp uh closer to the castle so yeah they’re starting I took a couple of days off and so now I’m in like a different kind of bubble cuz before I was in no bubble cuz there was no one out here so it’s nice to have a couple

People kind of around just to have someone besides myself to talk to so that’s Nice Oh I got You I got You hey I got You I You Up until this point on the trail I’ve been doing a really good job of sticking to my budget and pretty much always staying in my tent but eventually you know after 3 months it gets a little bit tiresome so I opted to stay at a campground in a small town and get

Myself a big pizza oh and take a dip in that swimming pool before the sun went Down Yeah you have Everything that’s quite Good I’m Tomorrow like What Yeah There weren’t a ton of great places to camp in this area so we opted to stay at this cool Jeet that was only €1 so I figured that was totally worth it and it put us closer to the base of peak du canigo which we would have to climb in the Morning wow oh it’s like so many on top of each other that’s cool we’re in a pretty cool Jeet tonight it’s got like so many rows of bunk beds it’s like this whole room is just full of them up to the ceiling it’s pretty cool uh

Tomorrow we have like one of the biggest climbs of the whole track actually 3,000 M Peak that we’re going going up tomorrow and I think we’re only at like 700 M right now or something so it’s like it’s a lot of climbing tomorrow um so it’ll be

A yeah it be a lot of work tomorrow so hopefully I have a good sleep in this little Jeet um I was like 12 so that’s why I’m staying here sounds kind of nice to be indoors um it may or may not rain tonight there was like a ton of thunder

On the way up but it I think it’s maybe a little further away from us so that’s nice um yeah yeah just going to eat some dinner probably take a shower and then that’s the end of that yeah this place is totally cute I get to use my use the actual

Kitchen not just my little pots so it’s nice that’s so funny that’s pretty good I am all ready for bed in my little bunk it’s like quite cozy up here it’s really nice uh tomorrow’s a big day so off to bed

I cruise through the end of stage 4 and take a break in Toulouse to go see a rugby match. I meet some more hikers and make my way toward the base of Pic du Canigou at the start of stage 5!
