Turkish Airlines Business Class – The Airline with a Chef on Board
You’ve caught me in Slovenia one of Europe’s Most Beautiful hidden gems and a country you definitely need to put on your list you’ll find it just below Austria on the map I’m about to start my journey home to Australia the first two legs from lubiana to Singapore will be
On Turkish Airlines in their award-winning business class this is my first time flying Turkish Airlines Long Haul and I’m really looking forward to it join me and we’ll do it together this is the biggest Advantage I see of Turkish Airlines and why I’m so Keen for them to start flying into Australia that
Is their root Network and they the fact they fly into so many places in Europe especially Eastern Europe places like Slovenia here well worth a visit but not a lot of airlines fly here Turkish does so let’s go and check in start my journey to Singapore and uh see what
That Turkish Airlines hospitality is like there is only one generic business Glass Lounge at lubiana airport it’s a nice lounge with a cool outdoor Terrace be warned though this machine serves the worst coffee I’ve ever Tasted Turkish Airlines unlike most other European airlines offers proper business class seats on its narrow bodied European flights these seats are similar to Australian domestic business class or American domestic first class SS the flight from Istanbul was less than 2 hours but a full meal was served with a choice of mains I went with a lamb kebab with roasted eggplant which was delicious so far Turkish Airlines was really Delivering after dinner I had a quick 45-minute nap and woke up as we landed that’s the first flight done Istanbul airport is massive it’s beautiful it’s new but it is massive over 65 million passengers a year so expect to walk and walk here uh I’ve got
About an hour and 40 minutes before my flight so let’s just quickly check to see where the gate is and if I’ve got time to visit the lounge so I’m at A3 and I’ve got to go to f19 let’s see how long that Takes good evening Captain this is the miles and more Lounge it is massive it’s up here and it stretches all the way over there but I’ve got about 15 20 minutes walk so I’m going to try for the business class Lounge Instead looking at the Airport layout the business class Lounge looks like a mirror image of the miles and more Lounge it’s massive with lots of different areas and and even private rooms Available if you’ve only got time for one thing in the lounge it’s obviously going to be Bu The Moment of Truth the taste test delicious I don’t want to start an argument but um let me know in the comments which country you you think has the best B BL that’ll get the comments Going I’ve just discovered the Champions League room here in the lounge this Lounge is fantastic I’d love to spend a few hours here but no time to waste I’ve got a flly to catch it’s time to go to Singapore let’s go 1K second left side Thank right oh what have we got uh lemon mint please lemon mint yes thank you we made it welcome aboard next stop Singapore here’s to one Sensational Flight ladies and gentlemen welcome on board this Turkish Airlines Flight Got these really cool views of the Moon just after we took off now that we’re up in the air let’s have a good look at this Turkish Airlines business class cabin and seat the cabin is laid out in a one 121 configuration giving each passenger directi access the seats are staggered
Making these perfect for couples that want to be close the seats themselves are very good they are the same design as Singapore Airlines mid hall or Regional business class that’s the seat Singapore Airlines use on their rade Brisbane and Perth Roots I’ve always really likeed these seats because they
Are comfortable and designed with practicality in mind that said I’m just over 180 cm or a Touch under 6t tall with an average size dadbot bigger taller passengers might find these seats a little bit tight the advantage of the bulkhead seats is it does have more leg room this
Is especially important in bed mode which I’ll show you a little later in the video By contrast the economy class cabin on the Turkish Airlines 787 is laid out in a 333 configuration one of the big selling features of Turkish Airlines Long Haul flights is they have a chef on board he came around and took our orders before departure the chef on board is one of
The reasons why Turkish is known amongst frequent Travelers for the quality of their food as you can imagine I had high expectations and was really looking forward to this meal dining on demand was offered however as this flight departed at 2: a.m. the crew went straight into meal service to maximize
Passenger sleep time to further save time the post departure bar service including warm roasted nuts was incorporated into meal service it was a glen fit single maltt for me for dinner I started with the smoked salmon which was really really good I was impressed with the whole presentation and the attention to Detail for Mains I went with a beef because I know this is a hard dish to get right in the air the meat itself was very good but as the only accompaniment was a green leaf salad it seemed a bit plain for a business class meal to
Me for dessert I couldn’t go past the Strawberry Tart and it didn’t disappoint overall this was a very good meal for those still hungry there was also a snack menu available after dinner most of the cabin went straight to sleep but I wasn’t ready to sleep just yet so
Instead checked out the entertainment system and watched a movie the Turkish entertainment system is excellent with lots of viewing and listening choices including various live TV channels high quality Denon Headphones are provided this aircraft is also Wi-Fi enabled with business class passengers getting a very generous 1 GB of free
Internet access it worked well and the evening Rush flying East from Europe was definitely in full swing before we get ready for bed here’s a quick look at the Turkish Airlines amenities kit it’s well stocked with all The Usual Suspects business class passengers are also provided with
Slippers handy for when you want to visit the bathroom during the night let’s do a quick bathroom tour on this uh Turkish aine 787 uh right at the front of the aircraft it’s a beautiful looking bathroom spotlessly clean especially these mirrors if you compare that to uh the absolutely filthy
Mirror that was on that United Airlines review I did recently this is beautiful and look at this as a nice special bonus some little lotions potions and smelly stuff by now it was definitely time to sleep earlier in the flight the crew had handed out thin mattresses for the seats
And large quilted blankets this made for a comfortable bed the foot room in this bulkhead seat was very good I I did try one of the other seats and they were much tighter at the feet the walls in these seats wrap around you giving you both privacy
And enhanc noise protection as they made from special noise absorbing materials here’s a view from the Pillow we were flying east and by now the sun had already risen outside unfortunately the electronic Windows of the 787 never fully block out the sun and it was shining right in my face the angle of the sun was coming in under my eye mask so I improvised best I could
Using my GoPro mount it did the trick and I slept for 4 hours waking up 2 and 1/2 hours before our arrival in Singapore at this stage the cabin was just waking up and it was time for breakfast I started with the Turkish Continental option which was accompanied
By fresh fruit and a strawberry yogurt bowl for Mains I went with a blueberry pancakes another dish that airlin struggle with because by the time they are served they’re often very dry at first glance this one didn’t give me High Hopes however It ultimately comes
Down to The Taste and based on my empty plate this one was a winner I finished off with an espresso and spent the rest of the flight typing up my notes and looking at the soothing clouds outside as we flew into Singapore overall I thought this flight was excellent the crew was really nice friendly engaging and excited that Australia will soon be added to the Turkish Airlines route Network My overall verdict Turkish Airlines is exactly what it’s designed to be an advert for the wonderful warm hospitality and good food of turkey I’d
Definitely fly them again thank you very much bye-bye byebye that was a really really cool flight uh my first ever Turkish airlin Long Haul experience uh definitely would fly again hey look thanks for watching if you enjoyed this one give it a thumbs up leave a comment if you’ve flown Turkish
Let me know uh what your uh what your experience was and remember do also let me know which country has the best back lover then check out my channel where there’s a whole lot of other videos more reviews and other stuff happening and if you haven’t subscribed please do so in
The meantime as always happy Travels w
You know an airline takes food seriously when they have a chef on board every long haul flight to specifically look after their business class passengers.
It’s time to road test Turkish Airlines business class on a long haul flight from Istanbul to Singapore and see if they live up to their reputation.
Anybody who has been to Turkey will tell you about the wonderful Turkish hospitality and food. But what is their national airline – Turkish Airlines – like?
Turkish Airlines say they fly to more countries than any other airline and have just announced they will finally commence flying to Australia in Q1 2024. This is massive news for Australian travellers as the Turkish Airlines route network, especially in Eastern Europe, is unrivalled.
So does the Turkish Airlines Business Class live up to the hype? Watch this Turkish Airlines Flight Review and find out. This flight review covers 2 flights – first my hop from Ljubljana to Istanbul in Turkish Airlines wonderful European business class. Then I jump onboard a TK Boeing 787 for the long haul flight to Singapore. The perfect opportunity to really test out the Turkish hospitality from their business class lounge at Istanbul Airport and in the air.
Thanks for watching and, as always, happy travels!
Dennis

I suspect that the reason why a starch wasn't served with the steak is because of how late it was. I'm sure some would have been provided on request.
Iโm glad to see that youโre still making your, excellent and informative, videos as I was a bit worried that you had stopped for whatever reason. I can't wait to see what you review in 2024!๐
Flew Turkish in October from Washington, DC to Amman, Jordan and had an amazing flight! Food and service were excellent…Looking forward to flying Turkish again some of these days! They also have some excellent saver awards for Biz class.
Greek has the best baklava. Do a stopover to discover Istanbul next time!
Most overrated airline ever.
Once again, a great video Dennis, thank you.
I was a little disappointed, as from the thumbnail photo with the chef, I thought it was going to be a behind the scenes video.
That said, I'm a big fan of Turkish Airlines. Their food being one of the reasons, one of the other reasons you mentioned at the start. They have proper recliner business class seats even on their short haul narrow body planes.
I really wish other airlines in the UK/European market would adopt a similar seating policy for their business class seat and not just block out the middle seat. I really don't understand how they can block a seat next to you, without even getting anymore legroom and classify it as a business class seat, it really annoys me.
Anyway, thank you for the review and I wish you and your family a happy and healthy 2024.
Please DO NOt EVER use turkish airways. They are liars and crooks. I have never been so disappointed.
Istanbul is a cool airport but obscenly expensive, the food inside the security gates i something like 4 times the price outside.
All the best in New Year
Great video Dennis
Isn't the "chef" just a cheaper way to replace a flight attendant who would otherwise do galley duties? They're just reheating food, not cooking it. ๐
Hello Dennis, there are so many feeder flights into IST that TK will have no problems filling its Australian services when they are launched.
Have had close to 100 flights with Turkish Airlines, excellent airline and the best option for economy class travellers. Although if you are business class traveller then probably Emirates and Qatar Airways are better options.
Happy New Year, Dennis!
I like your stuff as a general rule and find them informative. However noting the spread of bad vs good comments about Turkish Airlines in this clip I wonder if itโs possible to indicate, for the future, if you fly free or if you paid a normal fare? Good reviews are great but they are also easily tainted if the various flights etc have been complimentary.
That "moon-to-logo" shot was very good! Dennis is starting the year off extra fancy
Great way to start off 2024, fantastic video Dennis!!!๐ธ
Happy new year Dennis, hope you had a good one mate and looking forward to a great 2024
Seats looks exactly same as SQ business class but different colors.
This looks nice. I will say I have visited Koper, Slovenia when I was in the Navy and really enjoyed it and want to go back someday. Turkish looks like it is in direct competition with the ME3 carriers. Chef onboard? Doesn't or didn't Guaruda have a a chef onboard in their first class a short while back. Jeb Brooks did a video on it and I was impressed. Great video as always Dennis! Cheers
Turkish is my favorite longhaul airline. I fly to Europe from LAX or IAH, via IST. I like the long flights that allow for 2 full meal services, watching a movie or two, and a good long sleep in business class. I must say that post-pandemic service has been reduced a bit, but still very good. Thanks for another nice review, Dennis.
Ljubljana is amazing just did a day trip from Croatia but want to go back
I think most airlines are capable of a good or bad experience.A lot of luck of the draw.Very often the flight attendants make the difference
Nice video Dennis – Iโm also so glad they are finally coming to Australia – Adelaide would have been good but Iโm sure itโs not on the cards just yet- we flew from London to Bali in J and they were excellent – I seem to remember we had veg with the steak – it seemed odd to me but at least the salad was a good size ๐
Flew Turkish Airlines about 8 years ago. They were superb. Looks like nothing has changed.
Great to have you back, Dennis. I have flown Turkish airlines 6 times, 5 of them in business. From Australia the first leg was with Malaysian and then Turkish. My first trip was in 2019 to Ljubijana via Istanbul. I was amazed at the Turkish Business lounge and the many food options available. At that time the aircraft were the Boeing 777ER, the seats were a bit dated but spacious and comfortable. The food and wine was outstanding probably the best in the air. My last trip was last year (2023) and still very good, I think pre pandemic it was better. The service was excellent on all trips and I am looking forward to being able to board Turkish airways in Melbourne when they arrive.
Hi Dennis, firstly happy new year !
As for the best baklava…well I might be based, but as an ex-Victorian living in Queensland…. For me the best one comes from International Cakes, in Lonsdale Street Melbourne. ( Next door to Stalactites Greek restaurant).
Not only are they massive in size, but so delicious, I always bring some back from Melbourne to share with my Queensland family ๐
do these take routes around from where alot of conflict is
Looking forward to TK flights from Australia, more competition hopefully means better quality and pricing from other airlines as well.
Turkish Airlines broke my luggage and were very rude at Istanbul.
Turkish airlines is come to Sydney in march
View from the pillow is the best shot on YT for the year so far!
Great to see them coming to Australia …
I will never fly Turkish again after a couple of bad experiences in business class. It's very hit and miss.
