First three days of our 2023 Camino de Santiago trip from St Jean Pied dePort France to Santiago de Compostella. The first three days were the travel day from JFK in New York, to Madrid, France. Then a commuter plane from Madrid to Pamplona and a taxi to St Jean Pied de Port. Our flight from JFK was delayed three hours after sitting on the plane at the gate for 2 hours. When we arrived in Madrid we missed our flight to Pamplona and had to rebooked. We arrived at the Albergue Beilari in time for the the communal dinner. The host does an incredible job making everyone comfortable and playing games to introduce yourself to the rest of the guests. He serves a vegetarian dinner and breakfast in the morning. In the morning we registered at the Pilgrim office which is directly across the street from Beilari. We hiked from St, Jean to St Michele and stayed the night at Albergue Borda which is a short walk past Orrison. These are the main two places to say if you split the walk over the Pyrenees into two days. After the say at Borda we walked the rest of the way over the Pyrenees and stayed at the Monastery in Roncesvalles.

Day 1 5.33 miles stay at Albergue Borda in St. Michele
Day 2 10.01 miles stay at Monastery in Roncesvalles
