THAILAND’S BEST FLOATING MARKET in 2024

After 6 months of travel through Thailand THIS is still our favorite market we have visited and in this video we are going to show you why. We actually loved it here so much that we had to come back again after almost half a year. That’s why we look on some shots bit different

And even more sexy. After our first crazy days in Bangkok, where we visited some of the famous tourist sites we couldn’t wait to explore what more this frantic metropolis has to offer. So sit back and join us on our journey through the incredible country of Thailand.

Bangkok is home to some popular floating markets, but we chose Khlong lat mayom (market), because it seemed to be the least touristy one and with approximately 40 minutes GRAB ride from the city center also the closest one. Although the actual “floating” part of the market is rather small compared to the others

With just a few boats selling plants, fresh produce and cooked food, the ground area surrounding it is absolutely massive, with lots of stalls selling anything from antiques, clothes, sweets and most importantly some delicious street food.

One of the things we recommend you to try at this market is Thai stuffed omelet or Khai yat sai. The name literally translates to ‘stuffed eggs’. The egg is lightly cooked, then topped with various ingredients such as minced beef or pork, peas, onion, carrots and tomatoes.

It’s then seasoned with fish sauce and oyster sauce and folded over. So what is the final verdict? Aroi mak kha – Very delicious. There are so many other delicious foods in this market and we are going to try some later, but this is not the only activity you can do here.

The other main reason why you should come is the boat tour. For 100 Thai Baht you hop on a traditional Thai boat, which will take you through the canals passing through local neighborhoods, temples and gardens for about an hour and a half. – Where are we going right now? ‘Engine stops’

– We are going on a boat tour, maybe. Hopefully. – I am so excited. – I am so excited aah. These canals were everywhere in Bangkok and so the city was once known as a Venice of the east. But in the beginning of the 2Oth century many

Of the old canals started to disappear. Luckily there are still some khlongs as they are called in Thai left in Bangkok for us tourists to explore and where locals can still live their lives uninterrupted. Our first stop was another floating market, which although was smaller,

Felt even more local and it also had a nice temple in the center of it. But Ivanka was more interested in probably the cheapest dessert of her whole life. – This is so… I don’t know. Sweet. – Like pancake. – You love pancakes. And only for 5 baht. It’s nothing.

We then visited an organic orchid farm that uses fish to eat the mosquitoes larvae and the fish waste as a fertilizer for the plants. And the last stop was a beautiful homestay in the middle of nature, which is a good thing right? Yeah, you can actually stay here, and it’s really beautiful.

Close to the nature, maybe to close to nature? Probably lots of snakes, spiders, lizards, mosquitoes, and I don’t know what else. But yeah, really beautiful and peaceful. Wow. The boat tour is a great way to explore the other side of Bangkok you probably won’t see

Anywhere in the city center and for the price of 100 thai baht, there is really no reason, why you shouldn’t take it. And after several months in southeast asia we still think this was probably the best bank for your buck tour we’ve taken.

After all the boat riding you probably worked out an appetite, and even though there are a lot of options in the market we think that this would be the perfect opportunity to try some delicious boat noodles that contain pork blood as a

Base for the soup which can be off putting for some, but are absolutely delicious and one of my personal favorite thai dishes. Just think twice before you gonna try to be like Mark Wiens and add too much extra chili to your soup. – Spicy? ‘Evil laughter’ – It’s okay. No problem.

– How long you are right now in Thailand? – 6 months. It’s okay. Not spicy at all. Thousands of tears later. ‘Dying sounds’ – Almost finished. ‘Evil laughter’ And if there is one dish this market is famous for it’s definitely Thai salt crusted grilled fish or Pla pao.

You can see stalls selling it everywhere around the market, but we decided to try it in the biggest one. It looks more like a factory than a stall and the smell around here is just too good to walk past without trying the perfectly grilled goodness they have on display.

– Wow. This is too big. – Okay. – We have the fish, we have 2 sauces, some noodles, some vegetables. – I am gonna try to dip it in the sauce. It’s really hot. – Okay, the sauce is spicy. – Thai spicy? – Yeah.

– But the fish is really juicy, really juicy. – You can taste the smoke from the grill. – But only problem is, it’s really big and for two people? – We have lot of work today Ivanka. – You need to eat right now.

After we finished the meal and practiced some youtube thumbnail faces. We headed back to our hotel. If you are planning to visit Bangkok, definitely check our video that’s on the screen right now

And don’t forget to subscribe because in our next video we are going to show you the most beautiful island in all of Thailand and give you 5 reasons why we love it so much. – F….ing mosquitoes! – I hate f…ing, hate this …..

In this video, we will visit Bangkok’s best and likely the cheapest floating market in the whole of Thailand. We will taste many delicious and sometimes very spicy dishes and we discovering a side of Bangkok that not many people have the chance to see.
