For people to get a job or to find a job in Kenya especially if you are a foreigner guys like me actually for you guys who are new to this channel my name is Jo Misha I was born in Burundi but I’m from Rwanda I got a double

Nationality so I actually did study in Kenya guys and uh after studying in Kenya doing uh my campus in Kenya my university in Kenya guys like any other young man I had a dream of uh you know getting a job finding a job and working all that stuff

Until it came to hit me that I was actually a foreigner and for me to get a job in Kenya it wasn’t as easy as a Kenyan person actually so I remember like uh my first job application I did the interview and I passed the interview

With flying colors guys but when I was going to sign the contract now I couldn’t sign the contract only because uh you know I didn’t have a a Kenyan ID and also K pin K pin is a pin that they use here to pay taxes look at this guys people have

Been building right here they’re building good good so guys you can see how people are building good good and the good looking house pretty decent looking house look at this bro this is amazing this looks like a movie actually guys we this is a palm tree guys I don’t

Know if you guys know this this tree this is a palm tree and uh in my country we use that for making palm oil this is the the oil which looks like reddish you know reddish brown or something we use that I don’t know what’s in there but there is

You cannot actually you cannot be given work because uh you don’t have an ID and a k pin kin is a pin that they use to pay taxes then they told me you have to have a work permit so guys what I did is like any other

Person to go looking for you know the Necessities for me to you know to work the Necessities for me to work so when I went to apply for a work permit they ask you for a recommendation letter now when they ask you for a recommendation letter from the job guys

Now this is the funny thing for you to get a work permit you need a recommendation letter from a job please or from an employer but now remember the employer is saying we cannot employ you we can guys I’m trying to go home by this shortcut but I don’t know if I’m

Lost the employer is saying sorry we cannot employ you because you don’t have a work permit so when I went back to the employer they said we cannot give you any recommendation letters of being employed in this company when you’re not when you go for work permit they ask

You you have to give them a letter from an employer so now that’s crazy guys I don’t know if you understand that the work permit for you to get a work permit you need a letter from an employer and the employer says they can’t give you any kind of letter

Because you are not employed in the company so guys uh now was I was in a dilemma but now me being me uh I got a letter from a friend who was working as a nature in a company somewhere in a restaurant so I got a

Letter from them then went and posted in for work permit and now the problem is this guys if the job that you’re applying for to work for uh the job that you are applying for can be actually done by a Kenyon you are not going to be getting

That work permit bro I’m sorry about that guys look at this just amazing amazing beautiful nature guys look at that amazing amazing amazing and guys this is tobacco actually for you guys who have never seen tobacco this is tobacco those are tobacco leaves so this is a tobacco Plantation goes all

The way it’s very big guys goes all the way guys it’s a big tobacco PL Plantation so guys now if you applying for a job for work permit for a job that can be done by a Kenyan guys I’m sorry they will not give you the work permit that’s their rule

You know in Kenya if you are a foreigner it’s hard for you to get work permit so that’s the problem guys now they need you if you’re applying for a work permit you need to be a diplomat or an expert of some sort applying for something that a local cannot actually

Do a job that a local cannot manage to get or bringing in skills Jambo you need to be applying as I was saying for a job that a local in Kenya cannot manage actually to to do you know you need to apply guys I’m looking around because

I don’t know if I’m lost you know I only PL I only went through this place once so I don’t know if I’m lost but anyways let’s keep going Let’s Get Lost together but I think I’m not lost I can see some landmark of where I’m

Heading so guys uh for you to get a work permit in the Kenyan law you need to be you know you need to be an expert you need to be applying you know coming in with the skills that a local Kenyan doesn’t have that’s when they give you

The work permit for my case what I was applying for already Kenyans can do it so they never gave me the work permit the work permit was rejected actually very much rejected so it’s a it’s a bit hectic jump so it’s a bit hectic if you know

You’re trying just uh to find a job and to make it right here in Kenya guys so I’m sorry for you if you are planning to come here so the only result for me was to do maybe to try and find blue color jobs you know uh jobs that were off the

Paper and all that stuff so guys uh in Kenya the laws in Kenya I don’t know it’s good and it’s bad they try to protect you know the Kenyan local they are not allowing companies to give the jobs to foreigners they want you as a company to be employing only

Kenyans and if you have to employ a person who is not a local a person who’s a foreigner then they have to be bringing in big you know unique kind of uh expertise and skills that a local Kenan cannot have or maybe that are cast in the country

Those are the laws guys and that is why finding a job or working in Kenya as a foreigner is very very hectic so guys for my case you know I’ve been trying to find a job I did my work I did my studies I studied as a business manager business management

Course and uh I’ve been trying to find work I didn’t find work so my last resort was to find something I can do online because the online space has no limitation whatsoever with uh any kind of uh any kind of paperwork so the first thing I tried guys was Forex so I tried

Forex and I lost some money I lost some money guys because uh to me Forex looked or seemed like uh gambling or something you know it seemed like uh I was gambling because I didn’t understand what I was doing so guys forgive me for pting I’m very

Unfit these days I’m in the in the nature in the village and walking a lot can get you panting and sweating man just look at this guys it’s amazing just amazing amazing views that we have ahead of me amazing views guys amazing views so guys I tried

Like last year I applied for a visa to go to France I was denied and I had a h a a person who had was actually willing to host me and to receive me they even sent me an invitation letter I had everything guys and also they had agreed to support me but

My plan was to get there and never come back and also it’s like they sensed it because after having every document you know what they just denied me the Visa and said you are too young and also we are not sure that when you go to France that you’ll come back so

Guys that’s how I lost the opportunity you know this year also have been applying for going to Norway they also just denied me yeah that has been hectic actually and uh before that I’ve been also applying many things guys just to make it out of Africa because I didn’t

Looking for a work permit to be a bartender to be you know uh waiter you know uh I don’t know things that are normal anything that is normal cashier uh nature these are the things that even Kenyans can do so they’ll deny you the work visa actually the work permit

Sorry because uh guys we got chickens flying there because even me they denied me because of that I was looking for work permit but I didn’t have special skills so I resulted to trying to find something online I tried Forex Trading and all the little money that I had I I

Lost it on Forex Trading I tried transcribing but also you can’t find any good transcribing company if you’re not bested in Europe or the us or at least have someone open an account for you there so I resulted to trying to run away to run away from
