Think we’ve either had too much to eat or drink and we’re just still recovering we all still still in food Comas is that it I’m always in a food coma well what you got food the thing is Christmas is all about you have all those extra sort of special foods that
You get and you just think okay I think I’m sick of Pringles I’m I’m sick of seeing mini cheddar twiglets never sick of twiglets never sick of Pringles people sick of twiglets or sick because they’ve eaten twiglets could be I don’t know because I I know twiglets have I haven’t had twiglets in
Years I haven’t either actually I feel like I’m I’m missing out I haven’t had for ages yeah we were around some friends over New Year and they had some twiglets out and I was tempted to have some I didn’t I think twiglets smell really good they look really appetizing
Then you get one in your mouth and it is actually like eating a twig Sal twig thing is you don’t long out either the same whether they’ve been out for three weeks or just 30 minutes I would say they were in the pot and it it
Reminds me exactly of the Mr Bean moment where he snaps Twigs from outside and dips them in Marmite it’s like that’s exactly how that’s a twiglet I can’t believe I’ve just seen in the comments Carrie say what is a twiglet I don’t know if she’s trying to be funny or well
She genely doesn’t genuinely doesn’t know I think we’ll have to fix that very soon I was going to say I think of everyone you’re going there next so you’ll have to take us some yeah actually I think it’s time in exchange for conal cranberries it’s like have twiglets instead right yeah what swap
CLA did you try the Canberry we did and was it a I took a little v a little video of it coming out of the can I forgot to take a photo of it on the table actually people liked it they go they found the texture a
Little strange but the taste was a win so okay you know did you slice it and then you know what I did I sliced it immaculately into into very um consistent pieces and then laid it out on a plate in like a circular fashion okay so that people could take a slice
With a fish with like a cake slice they could take a piece yes did it look a little bit like beetroot sliced on the it wasn’t that I wasn’t that good crry carao no not quite um it was uh it yeah it was it was it went down
Better than I expected okay see we did see we did think oh maybe it would be quite nice in like a BRI and bacon Christmas sandwich oh having it slice yeah yeah and then like stick under the grill and melt the Bree yeah that sounds
Nice yeah that sounds very I can get on board with that I apologize to anyone tuning in who has eaten food yet not only will you be booking probably another trip before the end of the show but you’ll probably get hungry as well it all roads lead back to food
Right no matter what the show subject it always leads to food y always well now that you got the DDP it it can be part of booking your trip Disney Dining Plan returns we’ve got a whole show dedicated to that next Wednesday we do we probably won’t talk
About too much of that tonight so yeah hungry tomorrow not tomorrow next week definitely definitely eat next week so where do we usually start when it comes to bucking our trips about a year before okay um looking at things trying to work out where we want to
Go U basically as soon as we come back from the last one we’re looking looking the next one I would suggest while I’m still on yeah same I would actually suggest about on the way home or I’d suggest about 6 months before we’ve even gone on that trip on the next
One cuz we’re thinking about what we want to do for 2025 already before yeah I like to have at least one trip planned before I or booked if not booked but definitely in the in the in the pipeline in light yeah before I go it makes coming home that bit easier
Doesn’t it it definitely does yes definitely yeah it’s also it’s nice to know when you get back to sort of Orlando airport or Tampa that you know like okay I’m going home but I know I’ve got this amount of days before I’m back yeah it makes it makes our Disney Blues
Disappear it does have to say when we came home in July when I was not very well and not knowing when the next trip would be although I did have we did have the November trip already booked but not knowing if I’d be able well to go on it
And not knowing when I would be well enough if ever it was hard coming home so I think have one even if it’s just in your mind in your mind well I’d like to come back maybe at this time it makes makes a bit easier even if you’re
Dreaming and just think okay I want to do all what other Disney Parks do I want to go to you’ve been to what Disney World want to add Disneyland Tokyo Paris what what’s what’s I was having that ex that next trip just just in your mind but I think for yeah Alani
October but actually um what you said there about kind of times of year does lead on what sort of times of year do you enjoy going do you go the same sort of times every year do you like to try different times I mean I know Robin and Simon and
CLA all go about five times a year but but it depends who I’m going with that’s the thing so because obviously Millie at school School uh if we go as a family then it has to be during school holidays now she does have slightly longer school holidays than some schools
But generally we will go in August um and I know it’s hot and I know it’s sweaty and it’s probably going to rain every day I don’t care I’m used to and actually I quite I quite like that weather um so uh we we if we’re going in
The summer then we will tend to go in August and if I’m going on my own then I I started to really like like late April early May yeah and then early December I love the thought of early December it’s just just a way of just to get there just before Christmas done
Early December we we’ve done November we’ve done early November when Christmas just started but but for us I think a a lot of our time of year does focus on budget and because there are some times here that are more expensive than others obviously Christmas Easter sometimes certain times summer holidays
Especially in the US that that sort of times sometimes you can get a good deal especially when you can go out of um go during term time and out of school holidays and we’re lucky that we have that um opportunity yeah because I know there are a lot of people that don’t
We’ve done the first two weeks in December before and it it wasn’t too bad at all uh people wise until the end of the second week it wasn’t that busy uh what weatherwise yes everybody knows it it’s cold blah blah blah blah blah but you know it it it it isn’t
Always and we were able to take things at a nice Pace you know yeah it’s nice not to be sweing in in every uh every crevice but you don’t want the opposite where it’s freezing no no you have to try and time it and guess when Florida’s going to have its
Winter it’ll come two days of it last year I got it right with like the the six days I was there was nice you did you did it was cold before you arrived it was then cold again after you left perect while you were there generally speaking Florida has kind of three
Temperatures hot hotter and hottest yeah apart from from days that it’s so cold yeah that you need to bring your com yeah yeah that’s the thing but I think for me there’s so many different things happening through the year it I suppose it depends on whether there’s a specific
Thing that really takes your fancy if you’re really interested in Festival of the Arts or food and wine or you desperately want to see Christmas I think that if you can go outside of school holidays in the UK then you know or you’re okay with taking your child
Out of school we won’t get into that discussion but it if if you have that flexibility then it comes down to budget and when do you get the deals because I think there are deals to be had uh we’ve seen I think sha threw something really
Early on in the chat about a ridiculous deal that he saw uh for 14 nights 800 per person in April presumably after the schools have gone back yeah because he has early this year very early this year yeah yeah I think Schools go back like
The maybe the 16th or yeah 15th or 16th of April if it’s off to that time um then it’ll be and it’s not spring break time because that’s early so yeah it’s probably quite a nice time to go just saying I might be going the week after that see it you might see
CLA um but yeah it’s a great time to go CLA it really is just like Sean says book it as a solo trip if you can’t comein the other half go there you go you join me there I’ll see you solo trip won’t be solo because I’ll be there
Yeah there you go and if I’m not there’ll be there but funny enough Laura Laura has a good point where does it fly from because also it’s depends on which airline you go with depends on what uh which airports um and sometimes they can fluctuate huge in price there’s a huge
Change because I remember when we went in 2022 over Christmas we decided instead of going from Heathrow or Gatwick we went from Manchester because it saved us like £400 each that’s crazy yes ridiculous usually the other way around that that was the difference between us going on that trip over
Christmas or not and I’m so glad we did it it was incredible even though it was when we landed about I don’t know freezing cold yeah it’s like 2° yeah we are pretty much equidistant from all the major airports it’s about the same time to get to to London to
Manchester or to Birmingham so so you’re quite lucky then really you’ve got a lot of options yeah everything’s in sort of your equal way for for us it’s like it makes more sense of us to go Gatwick or Heath thr just because it’s an Gat Works
About an hours drive um he throws hour and a half if that yeah obviously depending on M25 which everyone wants to avoid and I think it depends on your preference in terms of airlin so for us here you know uh I I choose to fly ba um and that’s partly due
To uh you know points and Executive Club membership and um I I’ve had a couple of issues last year with them but I I still booked with them twice next in later this year um I know that some people are very much virgin preference I think Rob
Tend to be you tend to be on the ver Atlantic side um and that might be to do with the cup house at Heath just saying to be honest though let’s be really clear I’m going to fly with whoever’s cheapest for what who where I want to go
I don’t think there’s too much in it if there’s a small price difference I maybe would pay the extra for Virgin if it’s more than100 pound probably not especially just flying economy as well in economy I don’t think I would just go whoever’s cheapest they’re all very similar
We flew with Norse and it was £400 each during October half term that yeah that’s and that included bags as well it’s not like we had all the add-ons that we had to do yeah we already everything on yeah and we were really surprised and and that that’s the
Difference I think with a lot of it is budget but at the end of the day you’re traveling for a 9h hour flight I think there’s also flight time preference as well because you know you can fly in direct and save a lot of money but when
You look at the the total flight the total travel time time sometimes you’re looking at 22 hours because you got a long layover in Charlotte or in you know Chicago here oh atanta it’s just like there’s nothing like on the way you’re excited you can probably deal with it on the way
Home is either you know a really lengthy layover or a very short one where you’re going to run I don’t want either of those so for me I would pay a premium to fly direct every time and um yeah there’s there’s not really a question on
That for me yeah it’s been years since I’ve done indirect and I remember that my last indirect flight home out lightly say out was fine ish it was fine we flew via Dublin and there was there was fog in the UK in England but not in Ireland
So it was touch and go whether we were making our flight so it was a little stressful yeah because it was so delayed however coming home and sitting at the airport watching the flight before us that we were told not to get but because it was too short of a layover watching
Them bored when you are so tired and you are hanging it’s the worst it was the I know if John was here and he’s not because he’s off doing something wonderful this week uh he would be saying just go with the cheapest I can’t do a scout accent otherwise I
Would uh he would be like just book the cheapest it doesn’t matter I’ll fly via anywhere but could fly via Australia if it was the cheapest it’s just it’s the way than the fact you know I know he’s had some issues in the fic it is a little bit unpredict if
You’re fing in the warmer months and you don’t mind a longer trip then save some cash if that’s the option we we’ve FL inter a couple of times one was um with u American Airlines through Charlotte and I have to admit for Charlotte Airport was quite nice American Airlines I was pulling the
Face about incredible experience better experience than we had with ba when we flew with them but for £285 each during the half term we we would surprised yeah I would be constantly checking what the price of the direct flight was in all the way up to like two
Days before that flight if that was me I’d book it and then I’d be checking to see if I could get it within1 P I’m I’m going direct yeah I’m with you CL I don’t think there was one that was I think that is a very big difference
Between you and me you will carry on looking at the cheapest prices I’ve booked something I’m not going to carry on looking in case yeah because I don’t want the hassle of then having to try to change my flight and try to get a refund
And cancel it and you can do a deal on the on the fees I did a deal on the fees when I incorrectly book the flights for July next this year and got the dates wrong and had to ring up ba and change them to August cuz I forgot that Millie
Was doing something and I thought we could you know go in July and we can’t um and I rang them up and they like the amendment fees I think for the ba flight was it was £150 per person so it was going to cost us £450 to amend the flights and I said
Look I can cancel it and rebook it and it’s going to cost me £250 and they went oh well we’ll we’ll change the amendment fees to match that then yeah okay at the end of the day they just there’s a deal to be done CU they want you to take the flight they
Want to keep you as their customer so I would be I would encourage anyone if you want to change the date of you flight or you find something cheaper ring them up and have a conversation because I’ve done I found some amazing deals by ringing someone up and going actually we
Might want to fly back from Orlando rather than Tampa can you look at whether that’s possible we’ve saved money the price of the flight has gone down so don’t assume what you see on the website and what you see is the final price my other thing that I found out by talking to
Someone when we were booking flights is I rang up for an upgrade price and I don’t know if it’s the same for Virgin but for BA specifically I tend to book the flights for the summer in the in the sale that happened sort of September October time the year before and the
Upgrade price if you ring up subsequent to the sale ending there are two prices the price on the day that you phone up and the price on the day when you booked the flight and you can you can ask what was the upgrade price on the day that I
Booked the flight in the sale and they can offer you that upgrade price because I’ve done the upgrade at at the sale price rather than on the day price that’s interesting that’s really good so the upgrade price up Virgin tomorrow to find out don’t urgin did the same but from a VA
Perspective that has been my experience I think I’ve done that two or three times they’ve said oh well the upgrade price today will be this and I’ll say great what was it on the 12th of September yeah yeah and they go oh let me check that’s really good and one
Thing I have noticed that when we booked our flights for September was that the Black Friday sale was an awful lot cheaper than what it was would have been in December yep we it was about it was about £250 more saving on Black Friday than it was at Christmas 12 hours before
Black Friday as well yeah saying they the pric has kicked in yeah a little bit early and they’ve changed it to a stupidly early flight as well yeah we yeah we now getting there before before 2m. it’s perfect amazing right I’m just looking at some of the the qu the the
Comments and Laura has said we have flown indirect via Hamburg never again and I don’t know whether anyone’s gone the wrong way to go back the right way I like we yeah we haven’t done it but I’ve definitely looked at those in the past like flying I think they tanza I
Think or somewhere like that even Air France by Paris yeah I’ve L but we’ve never booked the price has never been the difference it’s like I know John’s done a couple it’s that psychological thing I want to go in the Direction I want to go is the destination is this
Way yeah go the wrong wayes I don’t care when I’m saving money it just feels like I’m just going the wrong way it just doesn’t it probably depends on where you live if you imagine that you live in the Northeast and you’ve got a big Trek to a a big airport
Yeah you might be able to get a local flight out of a really local airport that takes you to Paris or Germany or Amsterdam relatively easy and you’re like you might be minutes from that local airport so the time factor of the travel the internal travel to get to
Gatwick or Heathrow you could go to one of the others slightly longer flight into somewhere in Europe and then do the Hop and if you’re doing those kind of short hops internally you would look and say it might be 20 minutes half an hour even an hour further on one flight but
If you’re saving across your whole party a couple of hundred pounds it might be well worth it yeah I would say never discount any of yeah any of the other option dependent on kind of where you live in the UK there’s probably some other avenues you can play if you want
To do yeah even cheaper options I suppose if you live in Scotland because you can fly from Edinburgh direct to Orlando on can’t you but I don’t need ba do I think you have to fly down and then across so I suppose yeah Virg from there
Anyway yeah virgin have been a bit up and down I think with some of their offerings out of Scotland as well that it’s not always it’s only seasonal yeah it’s not every day it flipped from one I think it used to fly out Glasgow ited yeah so it’s less consistent than the
Flights in allow Manchester and e e yeah the other tip if you do live closer to the border for from Scotland because school holidays are often different in Scotland than they are in England you can often find that flights might be cheaper once of the board than the other
Depending on when schools are broken up Sean said exactly that Sean we’re on the same we are yeah it’s north of London I I haven’t really paid attention to flights up there but yeah you’re right Becca the north is just past London yeah London is
North yeah North which is why I it close to the Border not North I I had no idea about that I mean close to the Border is kind of like Newcastle and so when you say close the border all I can think of now is like Dover other border wrong border

Done no can I can I go back to your question earlier Becca like how when do you book the next trip we are Disney Vacation Club members like I know you guys are y we book that before we’ve even booked flights this is true so do
We 11 months out for your so we book at 11 months technically on the day yeah on the day which is Technically when before the flights are out out but not for the return flight by that point so you have to kind of guess when you want to go and hope that the
Flight prices are going to be okay y but that’s definitely worth noting if you are a Disney Vacation Club member or you fancy renting points one year to get the rooms you want you often need to book at 11 months don’t but it’s always good to
To have that plan in place you can you can book closer but then obvious the availability is less we tend to book our home Resort at 11 months and then come seven months we’ll have a look see what else is available yeah Robin and S got
Like 10 home resorts though this is true we only have one all the don’t have 10 not 10 not 10 eight no it’s not eight either I don’t think it’s as much as that five uh animal kingom Lodge the ground Floridian Boardwalk Vero and Disneyland so if
Anyone need to rent points if anyone would like to borrow points for of we have SP we’re at the point of going all of next year’s in that can’t be right we’ve done that before it’s like oh yes let’s have a big trip this year and it’s like but now we don’t have
Anything for next year yeah yeah that’s we’re we’re on that that that touch teetering Edge at the moment I think the the other point about timelines is that because the most flights aren’t released until it’s got to be outbound and return that have got to be released so this
This idea I think of booking with a travel agent the travel agent won’t be able to book the flights either so if you’re booking two years in advance what you’re paying for effectively is for them to bank your money until they can pay it yeah and also guess what they
Think the going to be and they’re never going to under guess they’re always going to over guus to make sure that they’ve covered the money right so put the money in a savings account until the flights y I think it’s worth thinking about that because some people I think
Will want to book with a travel agent for peace of mind there’s nothing wrong with want to pay monthly the ability to just pay it off monthly but it is always add the flights with them once they’re released you could book the hotel side or the hotel and Car Hire or the hotel
And something else and then when the flights released go back to the uh to the travel agent and say hey the flights are out now please can you Bast these flights and then add it into the package yeah most travel agents will look at the package that you’ve bought and then go
Oh you it I’ve seen it it’s come down your price uh we can put that money towards something else in your package or you can get a difference in the back we’ve had that what you been using Ben can I get their details I’ve never had a
Travel agent never we’ve had it we’ve had it with the Disney Cru we’ve had it for the Disney crw so so that was with Y yeah there’s a difference between a usel agent somebody who’s based in the US who might be part of a larger group or not
Because I used somebody based in the US as well who I think’s in the chat um and then there are British travel agents like Tui the old Thomas C and all of that Virgin Holidays right they are never going to drop the price no so if you’ve got someone who’s doing a bespoke
Trip for you and putting it together as a package y who is a potentially an independent franchisee as part of a group um they are slightly more or Peter I know use use a travel counselor same type of thing abut travel counselors we them they are people who are independently picking different bits
Portland you know Port travel travel are very much along those lines so I think that it some of the larger travel agencies you’re not going to get that sort of option I think some of our friends that we use um we have had really good and they will I think some
Of the American based agents also will apply discounts if they and different offers when they change because especially in the US they the offers change on news year every 3 months so every quarter there’s normally a new offer whether it be um sort of the free
Dining for the US one that come out yesterday if you’ve got Disney plus so if you already had a trip booked during those dates they would ring you they would be checking are you applicable and then they would ring you up and say do you know you now get free dining
Alongside the hotel package that you’ve already bought thank you very much and that doesn’t cost you anything I aren’t going to do that point out saying sorry carry on just because you’re based in the UK doesn’t mean you can’t use a US Travel Agent oh absolutely that’s a
Really good and vice versa I mean why you B Us in the UK well I’m not quite sure but UK tickets just saying tiet all booking dland Paris oh yeah there there’s that sort of it get a better deal there is there is nothing stopping
Just how I would go and I have today gone on and priced um a a trip to I double check the price of my room at Coronado Springs for April on the discounted prices that have come out in the US using a vpa I always do that to
Check whether it’s cheaper U UK ticket usually ends up being a little bit cheaper but it’s usually within about 50 Quid um is there anything stopping someone from us using a VPN and booking a 14-day ultimate ticket for Orlando I don’t think there is I don’t think there
Is not that I’m aware of I don’t think uh I don’t think there’s anything that would stop them I’m not saying I’m not don’t toy and put in the they wouldn’t have they wouldn’t have to book a package but the actual 14-day ticket they made be able to purchase well you
Could go through a third party website just saying we have friends at attraction tickets yep potentially I think I think you can choose to have them to collect your tickets rather than have them I I remember we bought first we bought ultimate tickets they were at
Will call so we had to go and collect them anyway this was like 2014 you get emailed the number and you attach it to your M and there’s none of that messing about so you know I just wonder whether it works both ways we can buy us tickets
Do you need to have a an a British or Irish passport for the British or Irish ask me for a passport when I tickets we we have have to show our ID because we buy the Disney Vacation Club discounted annual P we have to show our
DC member card and our ID yeah um but I don’t believe you have to just to pick up your Ed CL you mentioned about rebooking your you’re um looking up prices have you checked the annual passholder rates that come out today so I haven’t worked out how to find them
You need to Che me off to the call we’ll show you I’ll yeah we’ll hook you up thank you very much because I’m still very newbie in terms of the AP World um that is another thing if you have something like an annual pass for Disney for Universal
For SeaWorld check their hotel prices a c word c word [Laughter] yeah your PES because they do but again though you often have to have a VPN and pretend you’re in the US to be able to see yeah what they are otherwise they shoot you back over to the UK website I
Do that book tours and trips and Halloween tickets and yeah sorts you can call them or you used to be able to call them to find out yeah but time differences and having to speak to someone having to actually talk to another human being not I’m not that yeah it’s more of
A hassle I’ve had a brief on ATT tickets website and it looks like there’s there’s no limit on where you can buy from you just probably need to use a VPN to be able to access it say I agree it then you get you know might get a little bit of extra discount
Yeah can I say that I agree with my wife always a good thing to do happen always got thing to do use someone who knows Disney yeah don’t just go to Chey or or a big name yeah I I agree as well um especially that first trip as well yeah
Especially if it’s your first trip and you it’s a very different holiday that you end up booking because we booked off our our honeymoon through Virgin Holidays I have to admit the person that we spoke to we hardly touched talked about Disney at all when when when we were booking it yeah so
It’s I still talk about the time I was stood in and to be fair it was a local independent travel agent and I was picking up some dollars and it was probably about it was probably to 2019 so it was not long before the pandemic I’d gone in to pick up some
Dollars uh it was near our like local Tesco so other shops are available um and I was stood in there and I heard someone sitting down booking a trip to Orlando and the travel agent being like don’t bother with Disney Disney’s just for kids it’s not it’s not worth it you
Want to go to you uh Bush Gardens and Universal but I I was just stood there going oh my goodness that that was one of the reasons I was like I’m never going to go to someone who doesn’t know what they’re doing amazingly in America they have specialist Disney travel agents that
Will do everything for you we don’t have that here they’re not going to book you dining but they’ll tell you about it and they’ll let you know hey you have to book dining you have to do this it really makes a lot of difference y I think you’re absolutely right Robin we
We were gifted some um a voucher for an agency um and it was preco it was like the Christmas just before covid and we went back put the boards and book stuff canceled it book stuff canceled it and in the end I ended up helping our flight
Agent with his trip to Disney he went two months before we eventually traveled and I was on the phone telling him what the book and I was like how on a minute this but he he had no idea about Disney at all and was trying to encourage us to
Book all sorts of different things I was like you just don’t need to do any of that um you know we do have friends who are agents we’ve got port with travel who are our partners in what we do I’m going to give Lisa milm she’s in the
Chat a massive shout she’s been Su Pasa who’s part of Mii and mous fan travel you know these are all people is there someone specifically you go to Robin um we we most recently we’ve been to a guy called Paul at cotton candy travel and again he’s an independent and
He’s a bit like putw travel he’s it’s him it’s not like a big old company with hundreds of stuff he it’s like personal service with him and I know he if you do want his anyone wants his details you can look on let’s do Disney he
Advertises on with us but he’s always I like whenever I check if I can get it cheaper he’ll either say to me I can match that or I can’t match that you should book with them he won’t try and say as I’ve had before oh well you might
Not want to book with them I think you’d want to book with us because you’ll get get this or that with me he doesn’t he’ll say if you can get it that much cheaper you should book that because I can’t get anything like that at the
Moment yeah and he knows allando as well he loves Orlando he’s always in he goes and he he does various bits around the whole of Florida so we know that he loves Orlando he goes to the parks there as well so kind of peace of mind that

Disney versus staying elsewhere that’s a bit maybe a bit cheaper we looked at staying in uh one of one of the hotels at in the Disney Springs area and by the time we had to pay for a resort fee it wasn’t that much less than saying
That all star or one of the cheaper Disneys you know and yeah that’s definitely true though I think the same Peter some of those The Good Neighbor ones in the Disney Springs area I think I think I’ll just pay to stay in Disney but like the Rosen in that in L when of

That is called washer and dryer and I want to be within 10 minutes drive that’s kind of and I want it to look new so I don’t want the original kitchen fittings with a dodgy laminate work toop so I start going through the photos very carefully it takes me weeks to choose a
