We Got Stuck in Stuttgart!
All right good morning from a cloudy boan um today we’re going to get on a train and head over to Zurich I’m going to go to the train station we made this stop here in buan to see Ben’s brother who is stationed over here so it’s been kind of a quick
Stop and then we’re so that’s why we came here first and now we’re headed to ZK so our train to Zer didn’t really work out um it got cancelled all the buses are canceled all the trains are canceled so we’re taking a train to Stewart and we’re going to try to rent a car and then drive to Ser so it’s like a 2H hour
Two 2 and a half hour ride down and we’ll see what we can do from here but um they got a couple inches of snow and it seems to have shut down everything which was a little unexpected so it is what it is and we’ll figure it out
We’ve been struggling a little bit it’s not been a great experience for us I think every train or every airplane that we’ve tried to get on every car we tried to rent has been out so I think we’re just staying here for Today oh the kids are out for Lunch And this is why you always pack carry on cuz you have to carry your stuff everywhere steps all righty so we made it to our hotel first I want to say that we may not be going to Zurich like we planned all the trains were canceled all the buses were canceled flights were
Cancelled there were no rental cars anywhere today apparently there’s a strike going on plus there’s some weather we know that there was weather because we were supposed to find a Munich and we ended up in Frankfurt so we know that we booked a hotel last minute we booked a Marriott um it’s kind
Of like a unique Marriott it’s not part of the Autograph Collection but it’s still pretty unique on its own so um we checked in here we’re going to have to figure out what we can do for the rest of the day but let’s show you the room
So back bathroom very big very spacious so many mirrors I you can see yourself every direction um yeah nice big shower oh yeah that’s really nice yeah let’s see in our last place the shower just wanted the water just wanted to go outside of the shower there was no
Convincing it otherwise so I’m sure this one will be a lot better lots of storage more mirrors they love mirrors and then we have just a KingSize bed desk chair it’s pretty nice little hotel room with like a courtyard view pretty nice view so it’ll do nicely so yep
That’s it I think we’re probably going to try to find some food here soon and figure out our travel figure out where we can go tomorrow we’ll see what happens I’m hoping but the guy at the car um rental place said that the strike was only for
24 hours so that the train should be good for the next couple days no no he meant that was coming the strike hasn’t started yet no that’s the crazy part about it Kayla that so they said that they want to do a strike within 3 weeks of Christmas uhhuh
They notified them that they want to do a strike they have to give like 40 hours of notice I thought the strike was why all the trains were canceled no that was just the weather just the weather he said that’s why people are being like very careful with cars cuz he said
There’s going to be a strike at some point yeah okay well Munich got a bunch of snow so it’s kind of understandable that things were canceled out there but all the way over here they got like less than an inch of snow so I don’t really know why things are just all cancelled
But they are so it’s kind of interesting I’m starting to think that train travel in Germany is not the way to go it’s been rough it’s been really rough it’s pretty much been a struggle since we got here so I do love Germany though don’t get me wrong I’m really
Really really hoping um tomorrow I think we really have basically like three options one of them is to try to get a train to Zurich tomorrow the second option is to go to Munich the third option is to go to inbrook but you have to go through Munich in order to get to
Inbrook so but if we were able to get to insbrook we would have to extend one of our prior hotel bookings for a day um if you’re traveling in Europe during winter just get travel insurance I like sometimes it’s a little expensive but I I think like this is just a clear
Demonstration to me that it’s totally worth it especially if the weather is unpredictable on a positive note we have good snacks we have some Nutella biscuits they love Nutella here I mean it’s everywhere Crepes all different types of crepes with Nutella or CS however you say them got
Some salty nut mix Ben’s got his plant-based protein cookie and some mangoes so kind I got a little mix of everything here but always have snacks with [Applause] [Applause] You all right we went to a great little place for like a late lunch around 3:00 we came back rested for about an hour and now we’re headed out to the Christmas Market again I just wanted to see it lit up at night so we’ll probably
Go there for maybe an hour walk around and then we will head back this way and then maybe go to the spa or something and we’re all bundled up cuz it’s cold It’s a little calmer right now it’s lit up a little bit better it’s Nice They’re pretty good I thought so that’s good that’s those are good what are they Bailey’s covered almonds it’s pretty Good so I got a ham and cheese CPE for dinner so this is what I’m eating pretty good they’re pretty popular here in the market so I’ve uh picked one up almost every chance that I I don’t know what all the bells in the background are about but they’ve been going on for about 2 3 minutes now so I’m sure there’s probably either hopefully acceleration or it’s probably something to do with um I don’t know like a common thing that happens here so if you know
And you live in stutgart or you’ve been to Stewart and you know why all the bells are ringing in the background at about 6:45 on the 4th maybe you can tell Me all right I think that’s it for us today we just got back from the Christmas Market Today started out a little rough I mean we spent like the first probably 4 hours trying to figure out travel cuz everything was cancelled so and we ended up about 15 minutes from where we

So we got stuck….in Stuttgart for another day. Unfortunately due to the weather all of the trains south had been canceled… this means we were unable to go to Zurich or Innsbruck…. we tried to find a rental car but unfortunately they were completely sold out at all locations (as almost everyone else was having the same issue going south). when then quickly had to find a hotel for that night…. once that was solved we went out for lunch and then back to the christmas Market.
