And it’s 20 5 in the morning it is I think it’s the 4th of January I’m absolutely exhausted and surprisingly it’s not really that busy it is winter and there’s only one flight going out to Palmer this morning and we’re on it we don’t have to change it’s a direct

Flight so it’s worth getting up that early in the morning and the airport’s not looking too busy this morning we see a few flights are going out with easy jet we’ll see where they’re going in just a second but for now let’s head on to Res

Security so looking at my watch had 3 hours and 7 Minutes sleep today I’m absolutely shattered can’t believe I’m making a video but just to show you what it is like traveling through Bristol airport in the winter but for now I’m just going to um drink my coffee and try

And wake up a little bit okay so a couple of flight tips while you’re traveling over the winter um we’ve had really bad weather over here in the UK as you may well have noticed um check the flood alerts as well if you’re driving to the airport

You’re getting some to drive to the airport for you um especially in the southwest as well we’ve got the somerset levels which are pretty flooded to get those checked um I must admit I barely slept worrying about driving through flood water on the on the way to the

Airport this morning but it was actually okay um you need to be at the airport 2 hours before some of these flights can get busy particularly the ski flights as well and the flights going down to the Canary Islands to probably fewer people working over the winter months as well

So even though there not as many flights it’s not peak season you’re going to find that checkin might be a little bit busy even though you can see this morning it wasn’t actually too bad okay so I’m going to go and check out departure board and see how our flight

Is doing and see which other airlines are flying out today so just taking a quick look at the departure board here that you can see we’ve got no delays this morning which is fantastic to see lots of flights going to ski destinations we’ve got a flight going to R in

Lvia but I can see lots of flights as well going down to canaries we’ve got lanzerotti got Alicante and of course Palmer and Gates going to be called soon so going to pop in Two Boots and pick up a few bits and Bobs and then head on towards our

Flight so as painful as it is to get one of the first flights of the day it also means that these early morning flights do not pick up delays so bear this in mind if you’re looking to book for your summer holiday Too You will find flights to Palmer from the UK a few and far between over the winter months and sadly you will not find direct flights north of Manchester until around March now normally flights from smaller Regional airports will start again in April but because of an early

Easter the weekend this date will have been brought [Applause] Forward time to time to that’s it that wasn’t too much of a bad flight coming over it’s only 10:30 in the morning got the whole day ahead of us I think I’m going to take up that popular Spanish tradition and have a siesta when we get home which is

Otherwise known as going to bed got a little bit of a walk to get through to get through the airport let going to quickly check out passport control and see how busy it is today so we’re heading towards the baggage reclaim area now we have to walk all way

Through terminal SE just got a quick update from passport control now it was really quick coming through we had to wait for about 2 minutes but then again we are residents so we did get through rather quickly there wasn’t much of a queue either for British passport holders coming

In but where we did see a queue was those flights going out of Palmer airport today so the H of passport control was really really busy with passengers waiting to go and board their flight now I’m not sure why that was I think there’s only actually one policeman there checking all the

Passports and actually someone had to call for the passengers to come forward for the flights that were leaving at most uh most urgently as well to get them through passport control so just bear that in mind if you flying out of Palmer airport this winter Lea good time

To get through passport control even though there not really very many shops on the other side in fact I don’t think there are shops there is a drinks machine but I did see a a big big queue this morning of passengers waiting to get through passport control okay everyone if you made it
