Ep. 106 La bella MALAGA… in bici! – Il nostro Autunno in CAMPER

We are on the beach of Torremolinos… we have just passed Malaga… now tonight we sleep here right in the parking lot in front of the beach and then tomorrow I would come closer and tomorrow we go for a day at Malga yes We are in Malaga we left the camper in a rest area that will hopefully be quiet I hope! We hope you are safe! Let’s go for a bike ride around Malaga Mauretto, are you ready? I was born ready! he is always ready to break the *** above all he is ready! Here it is, this is the tallest chimney in Spain, it is almost 100 m, exactly 96 m, it was the chimney of the Los Guindos metallurgical company, built in 1922, it is on the sea, here there is this beautiful long sea, this is truly wonderful along the sea

And among the modern houses, the palm trees, the beaches, Betty who is there waiting for me, the chimney of the lead foundation Los Guindos Look at what a beautiful park! Eh, this park is right on the seafront behind the port.. This is Parque Huelin These days here in Malaga there are the Davis finals and we also have our team we also have our boys.. can you see it? Can you see that there are Davis finals? I would say yes! We are cycling through the streets of Malaga, a bit busy but at least there are cycle paths, they make tortuous turns in the middle of the city but somehow now we are getting to the center And also in Malaga like almost all of Southern Spain was dominated by the Romans, this is also a Roman theatre, they brought civilization throughout Europe! the theatre, the cult of theatre, of art, of culture brought it to them! these are… look after many years how well preserved they are

By pedaling by pedaling we try to get to the castle at the Gibralfaro Fortress which is the highest fortress above the historic center of Malaga… there is a nice walk, we are there we do it by bike, but a nice piece of park all around the fortress, now let’s go up!

Little squirrel!!! Tatatata Hello little one! We arrived by bicycle at the Mirador of the Gibralfaro Castle… Gibralfaro, no? Gibralfaro yes! this castle on the top of Malaga… we are right in the city center but there is this little hill where the fortress once stood a little lower than us… look, look, look where are we? I’ll show you!

We have the bull ring down here and the ferries to the Balearics! a nice bike all the way up here! Right Bettina? True! Let’s enter the Gibralfaro fortress! We are in the highest position in the whole city.. from here we should completely dominate it! [Music] We have the whole city below us you can see the Alcazaba very well which is the fortress that we then go to visit and behind it there is the immense Cathedral and the walls that connected the Castle with the Alcazaba which are these walls! Have you eaten enough? we had five tapas between us! It’s great for midday! what time by the way? at 3:00! we have become Spanish! we took Spanish time! Say hello to Italy! For Italy!

What is your name? What is your name? my name is Rafael! Rafael… this is the friend… he’s a friend who found us the table in the sun, he called us on purpose… he told us: Now I’ll find you a table in the sun! Thanks Rafael, I make Gutenberg manual printouts!

Gutenberg? The only person in the whole world who works the Gutenberg manual poster? he invented the printing press! perfect memory of the 1440s… Rafael still has the Gutenberg print in the sense that he manually crushes and imprints the name on the poster Rafael’s signature And of course! and today’s date! this is Rafael’s job! the oldest printer in the whole world! 53 years old… the printer… the Gutenberg of Malaga! thank you Rafael… thank you very much!

And now the time has come to go and see the Alcazaba which is the fortress of Malaga… let’s go in! And after the work of Rafael who will be with us in the camper now let’s go and see the Fortress Rafael and all the others even here in Malaga these things happen to us because we would always like to remind you that we are not tourists… We are travellers! Exactly!

The words of Natalino Balasso when he said: the traveler imports knowledge, the tourist exports ignorance! and for us the journey is not a holiday! I would like to remind everyone of this! So in the meantime we have arrived to visit the Alcazaba or the Fortress of Malaga

After having visited the Gibralfaro Castle which is on the top of the hill above now let’s dedicate a bit of… an hour to visiting the fortress! Let’s go visit the fortress that is behind here… Look!

Do you see it back here? which was the old fortified village of Malaga from which the city was protected These beautiful arches, arabesque arches in which the south of Spain is full together with the arabesque arches there are these marine stone floors we in Liguria have the same type of white and black stones mainly with which we adorn, they are fixed to the ground and create these typical stone mosaics

I have always said typical Ligurian… at this point I must also say typical Malaghine or rather as well as typical Andalusian Malaghine! What is this? the link? Here you can clearly see the connection between the Alcazaba and the Gibralfaro Castle because there are all those walls made in steps that seem to connect it in the middle there would be a passage

That is still not accessible, in the past it was used for… .. In the past we passed, now we don’t. But how do they come to me? make those terrifying jokes! Has La Castellana found another castle? not just the French ones we visited at the end of October,

We are now in Spain and visiting others! this is the journey of castles and fortresses! and fortresses! So can I ask you what you think about contemporary music, not so much about…? as? it sucks, look, you’re right! the art on the other hand was an interesting thing! And this is his birthplace! Unlike the French here the Marina is small, I think it’s nice, but a bit far from the city because there is all this long pier so it’s not really even if all these scooters are available

But it’s not really comfortable for those arriving by boat in transit and wants to go to the city and the port is small… I thought the marina was a little bigger If I’m not mistaken this Thalia, the boat with which some of the scenes were filmed. .. I don’t remember if the third 007 film was the one from the long series with Daniel Craig where there was also Joaquin Bardem who played the bad guy

Oh! we are on a pier on the sea in Malaga at sunset! today we had a nice bike ride from here, we traveled about 26 km Mauro? roughly yes something similar there is a whole beautiful cycle path that runs along the sea next to the main road and reaches the city center

And the cycle path also continues into the city center so you can go around excluding the narrow part of the historic center you can go around bicycle everywhere… It’s something I wanted to point out, now I’ll take the camera,

This mountain at sunset with a little imagination reminds me a bit of Monte Fasce, therefore my Genoa… Genoa, as a well-known Genoese singer-songwriter said, is beautiful, beautiful to remember! I always remember it fondly but I no longer live there! Good morning everyone! this morning we have to solve a problem… one of many… after a month of being around we are starting to have problems with gas in the sense that we have Italian cylinders and we can’t find Italian cylinders here

So we have to find a solution which allows us, if possible, to recharge the Italian cylinders in some way , otherwise we would have to throw them away, take the connections of the Spanish cylinders

And therefore we will throw away our cylinders and when we return to Italy with the camper we will also throw away the other cylinders, let’s go to this shop which they advised us yesterday, we hope they can solve the problem, let’s try, follow us! We are trying through a camper sales center to see if we can find this connection which in the other three, four shops we passed we found nothing to do! We didn’t find what we were looking for, namely the gas connections!

However, we have found an alternative connection for the Spanish cylinders… at worst we will proceed with those now in the middle of the hills and mountains towards Ronda! If Mauretto makes it! you’ll make it?!? there he is! is dying! castle on the top of Malaga… Oh my God, wait a minute… Castle on the… this is a Mirador wait… Keep it for yourself!

We are in one, in the highest position in the whole city, from here we should dominate it completely… now… from here, sir, we dominate the valley! Here he comes again with his speech! as well as typical Malaghi… here’s what area of Spain is this? Andalusian! typical Andalusian! cut the first part!

Let’s go! Hi Pablo!

  1. Rafeal would make a very interesting interview, 50 years all that time over a press. Mauro should eat from a smaller plate, it worked wonders on me, unfortunately bike riding builds up your thighs.

  2. Bel video, complimenti, Mauro hai proprio ragione sulla differenza tra turisti e viaggiatori; io e mia moglie ormai ci consideriamo metà spagnoli perché passiamo i 6 mesi invernali qui. Poco tempo fa siete stati vicino a noi (Torre del mar) peccato non esserci incontrati. Buon Viaggio a voi

  3. I loved Torremolinos when we're on holidays there, been watching your vlogs because I saw you on Camperado with Rita .very good videos and lots of information. Lots of love from England India.
