Car Camping CAUGHT IN A SNOW BLIZZARD [ Austrian Alps, 1800m above sea, Winter Van Life, ASMR ]

Thank you for joining us on this trip. We are very excited as it is our first time camping in Snow! This place is incredibly beautiful. Surrounded by the Alpine mountains. We are 1800 meter above sea level!

The air is so clean and crisp. It’s good to feel the snow on our hands, we haven’t seen snow for a long time.

Alright let’s prepare our cosy camper. Today we got a Mercedes Marco Polo as our camper. Thank you Road Surfer for lending us one, we can always rely on you! The space up here looks pretty big and comfy. I like the suspended bed frame.

Here is our Sink, Gas Cooker and Fridge. Easy to access. The scenery around us is just stunning! Cool, you can lift the bed for more head space. I can stand up right in the camper.

Let’s get cosy. Diesel heater on! I was surprised how efficient it was. It going to keep us toasty warm for 2 nights ahead for very little diesel fuel.

The campsite we are at today is absolutely amazing. Lovely owners who are always ready to help! You can even power your camper. There are showers and toilets close by and a cosy rustic common room with plenty of board games, books, TV and couple of bending machines.

It’s Kellys birthday today, so I am going to spoil her. She is abit jet lagged, she just arrived yesterday from Australia.

The campsite is called “Bergheim Schmidt” and is located near Turracher Höhe Ski Area in Austria. I would 100% recommend to stay here. Please leave us some spots free ^^ I brought my lights from Australia 🙂 Let’s make it cosy inside and get a hot tea to warm up.

It’s quite cold outside, but toasty warm in the camper. Love it! We got some tea from RoadSurfer, let’s check what we got there. Tea from all over the world in one pack, nice. Kelly is coming down just in time for some hot tea.

It’s been a long drive and we are hungry. I will prepare some quick dinner. Mom pre made “Frikadellen” for us, super tasty. It started snowing, so nice! Dinner is ready, let’s dig in!

I am going to setup a bed downstairs for the night, it’s much warmer. Good night! It’s been snowing all night and the wind gusts are insane. Luckily our camper still kept us really warm and sheltered. It’s crazy out there.

Between the wind gusts it really looks like a fairy tale outside. So magical. Still abit worried how are we going to get out of here. Alright I need an energy boost, time for some coffee!

I know when you are watching, Christmas is over. But I still would like to wish you all Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! The poor little reindeer lost one of it’s antlers while traveling here.

It’s time to go out and check out the condition of the camper van. Geez it’s not only full of snow, but also alot of ice has built up in such a short time. Doors and wipers are frozen solid too.

Haha at this point my face felt like it got sand blasted. Back inside, it’s time for some food. I am starving. I am making “Maultaschen” (German dumplings). One of my favourite German dishes. Already smells good!

I got some nice unfiltered Brewery beer with me today in a giant bottle, haha. It’s so good! Quite a blizzard outside. Wow so much snow in such a short time! I can barely get to the power cable.

Today is our last day, so we gotta leave somehow. Snow chains are now a must. The nice owners of the site have helped me putting them on. It was such an incredible experience. Would love to come to this spot again in winter!

Our first SNOW camping and we got caught in a Blizzard! We went to the beautiful Austrian Alps to enjoy our Winter Van Life, had some nice food, experienced all kind of crazy weather. But we also enjoyed the snow very much!

The campsite was so good, it’s 1800m above sea level and we got told that it is the highest Campsite in Europe which is still operating in Winter.
