Thailand hosts the annual Cobra Gold military exercise, one of America’s largest multilateral drills involving the participation of nations across the Asia-Pacific.

While Laos was one of few countries that had not reported a single confirmed case until very recently, the medical system there appears to be ill-equipped should infections rise.
At the health centre in Vientiane, the government of China donated truckloads of protective gear to Lao authorities for use when in close proximity to confirmed COVID-19 patients.

A 57-year-old Thai man found dead on a passenger train in Thailand has tested positive for the coronavirus, officials said yesterday, as the country’s death toll from the contagion more than triples from a week ago.
