LEGACY | Why Create?
Growing up I was always into photography and capturing moments in time. Driven my curiosity and creativity I always seemed to have some sort of camera with me, especially when my parents took us kids on holidays.
Then as I grew up and focused on my final years of school and university I rarely pursued my interest in photography and videography. As you’d expect, my time was split between work, family, hanging out with friends, movies and playing play-station. Much of which I still do today.
One day, my friend introduced to me to the YouTuber, Casey Neistat. After witnessing what he uses this platform for and the videos he creates, it inspired me to pick up a camera again. I went down the classic YouTube rabbit hole finding creators such as, Peter McKinnon, who create tutorials on how to take photos and make videos. It awakened my creativity.
I soon realised the importance of documenting moments in life so one day you have something to look back at and share in the retirement home. I grew an appreciation for the home videos my parents took while we were growing up.
So in 2017, when I went on holiday to America with my lifelong mate, we both went out and bought GoPro’s to document our trip. Since then my arsenal of equipment has slowing grown to include a drone and a DLSR camera. In subsequent trips I continued to document my travels to show my family back home.
I treat my channel like time capsule. A platform for storing and sharing memories. Photos and videos have to power to withstand time. They can create a great sense of nostalgia and can bring back faded memories. I enjoy taking the time to craft what I capture into short videos.
If you’re new here, why don’t you consider subscribing and join me on my adventures. I might drop the odd tutorial here and there, to help you capture your adventures too.
