Cinque Terre, Italy. Conquered Entire Trail In Just One Day! Ep. 25 Italy 2023 MiniSeries Part 6

Look for the Necessities the simple Necessities forget about your worries and your I mean the necess so today 2 days left in Italy we are going to sinera we’re going to hike so what is sinera or chinatera if you live in Italy it translates to five lands and is located

On the northwest coast of Italy specifically it comprises the five Villages you can see on the map you can get to them either by boat car or train and once there you can hike the trail that connects each Village we chose to walk from south to

North starting at Rio maor and ending in mon Roso so yes we are um we’re going to chera and you can tell by the start of this that Helen’s really excited about going for a walk the thing is we didn’t know anything about where we were going

Only what we witnessed on TV that this was supposed to be a great place to go when you’re in Italy and talked to a few of our friends some have been there walked a little bit of it others had uh taken a boat or a train or a bus to one

Or two of the towns but we heard it was just a great place to go for a walk arriving at the trail this was our expectations of what our day was going to look like but after only a few moments things changed and we decided

Maybe this is what our day is going to look like only because this is what our day actually was okay I’m breathing Now so what happened to our yellowbrook road we were just informed by the lady at the information booth that the lower route is Clos closed so guess what it’s up up and away okay and up we Go so we’re on the Cino Trail we had yellow arrows and shells different shells marking each town and Village that you went through here we have red and white stripe 531 is the route that we’re taking so at the top of the first pass we only have possibly four more of these

To do and I’m yeah apparently H sweaty it’s a long freaking way up so the lower route was only 1 km long it should have taken us 10 minutes to walk between towns but this is the reward you get for busting your ass for an hour and 20 minutes we got this

Incredible View and now it’s moving on to the next town leg G down the next leg takes us from manaola to Cornelia the coastal route which they say takes 45 minutes is also closed due to a Landslide so cramped up tonight Well we’re in between second town and the third town and we’re now heading towards Cornelia and it’s pouring rain it’s completely socked in we’re wet hardest climb I’ve done in a long time yeah it’s uh how many steps so far done 10,000 step yep so uphill 7,000 those have been uphill

And 3,000 down so apparently this is the summit here and so then we’ll head back down but it’s at least another hour till we get to Cornelia good test for the hip it hasn’t given out yet but it doesn’t happy well it’s just absolutely bucketed it down we’re all

Soaked and the trail is this big muddy patch and still coming down and we’re very high up and now we’re in the trees not sure how much further it is to Cornelia but I’m thinking it’s probably another half an hour from here well we’re still not in Cornelio

And it’s now been 2 hours in 20 minutes since we left the last town and this is our view and this is our Trail going down it’s tough going because it’s really slippery right now from all the rain we see a town Yay there’s the trail going down and the road and there’s the trail in the far distance oh we’ve just arrived in cornlea and we’re just going to pop into the center grab a sandwich and after a well-earned sandwich we head out for leg three which takes us from Cornelia to

Vernat and the reward a very good toasted fatcha sandwich we’re only halfway there and I’m dying yeah we’re only halfway but the next two um sections apparently do go by by the water so it should be flat and now we are heading off again this is apparently the

Trail we were just sitting down there in the main Center laughing because our feet I think were the filthiest feet in town and all these people came in on the bus with lovely White Shoes white clothing this is As this is what they call the coastal Route I guess it just means we can see the coast but we’re still up in the hills on this mud bath Mountain Goat Trail that was Town number three Cornelio where we have come from and right now I think we’re about 1 kilm if the crow flies from Nat so well

The best thing about hiking in the thr country is you get to stop every hour and have sustenance so we just had a little cup of watermelon and it cost us €4.50 we have the ocean back you can hear it now getting lower down we’re still about qu kilometer outside of

Vato and that in the distance over there trying to Dro My Bag is Monto Monto Roso something like that that’s the ending point of where we’re Going there’s the down there signs signs everywhere there’s signs all of these numbers are messing with my mind not sure if these are kilometers miles hours or days but just keep walking just keep walking just keep walking well this is the next checkpoint where they check for your pass that we

Didn’t know we were supposed to have anyway it was uh 750 each to do this leg and the next leg so here’s a better shot of rat and Spectacular anyway I never ever thought I would be in Italy hiking the Sinera thank you girls for the Italian book which kind of spurred this trip we literally just came down those steps and we bured out into this Mayhem and that’s where the trail continues is up those steps and S mon Roa they say it’s 2 km anyway this is what we’ve walked into

Um probably commercial and now for the final leg takes us from vataa to monteroso the end of the chinka Tera so I and I just decided that he is not going to do this part he just can’t do anything anymore so we’re going to meet at the

Train station in monosa which is the next and final town and this is looking back at fatoo what a gorgeous Place understatement that’s good thing he didn’t come 100 stairs right off the bat well quick uh break at the top here grab some water to check the heart rate

172 uh what’s 220 – 59 I’m over what it should be anyway not a problem um there’s mon Rosa okay from There 2 minutes after I said oh I think we’re going down nope deep stairs going down I’m sure it’s probably another 45 minutes into town yet is my guess so almost 3 or 4:30 okay we at the bottom of the stairs and now we have that to go Around every corner is different so cool almost I’m really hoping monosa is this first place not the second place and it wouldn’t of course be without a steep uphill right when you think you’re almost There oh my God I am so hot so humid that’s where we’re going okay and there we are the end of the trail says bataa which is where I just came from is 2K that is the longest most painful 2 km I think I’ve ever

Done what a great day wow my legs are a bit jelly like right now but um very very cool day that’s fitting there an ambulance station right at the end I should mention that it is 10 to 5 just making my way to the train station and it is up there through the tunnel well I’m through the tunnel which is where I thought the train station was and it’s opened out onto this so oh my God I just need to stop Alex is so Tired so hel hel just finished the fourth Lake I couldn’t do it I just hit my the end for me so here waiting it’s terrible place to wait but uh part of a smart choice so well on well done that was a long freaking that was a long freaking

Day because there’s been uh a couple of slides and that they didn’t tell you you walk through the freaking mountains like a a gorilla anyway it was it was fun cheers oh here here’s our experience with chinka it was a great day for me about 8 hours of just whining and

Bitching but you know it was a tough slog it was 16 kilm of up and down Hills the weather didn’t cooperate with the rain and everything you know that’s just life uh for Helen to complete the whole thing was quite amazing it was a it was

A tough slog I stopped after the third leg and really I i’ just done all I could a lot of the people there though only done one leg they seemed happy uh otherwise you can take a bus a car train whatever between towns and I think if we

Were going to do it again we would take longer maybe 2 or 3 days enjoy more of the wine the great food or go back and do it when we’re 30 years old instead of 65 with a gimpy body either way as Mr Nike said just do it I don’t think

You’re going to have any any regrets it’s a fantastic place and it’s if you’re in Italy take it in it’s a highlight so enjoy and talk soon look for the Necessities the simple Bare Necessities forget about your worries and your stri I mean the

Day trip to Cinque Terre, Italy by train from Genoa. The Cinque Terre Trail connects 5 small, picturesque villages on the northwest coast of Italy. Most visitors either bus, car, boat or train into one village for the day to explore the town. Some also walk one section of the trail in a day and see 2 villages. But, we hike all 4 trail sections and see all 5 villages in just 8 hours! Whoa! Exhausted but ecstatic at the end of it! Incredible scenery is worth the slog of the long, difficult hike! Enjoy!
