Paphos Coast Path Update – January 2024

Hi this is Dominic for pathos life and we’re at Venus beach today we’re going to have a look at how the uh Coast paath Renovations have been coming on it’s January I think it’s the 19th today it’s around there anyway on a Saturday midday is and there’s a nice drinking fountain here

Which is yet to be connected so I won’t be drinking anything from there but they got these nice new railings up here it’s quite handy for leaning on nice and sturdy too and this appears to be uh presumably wheelchair access or vehicular access to the beach in case an

Ambulance needs to get down there it makes more sense than whe chair to be honest mind you it is uh steps and everywhere else so perhaps it’s a combination of the two but yes apart from the changing areas stroke toilets and showers they seem to be pretty much finished here

Now there’s quite a lot of people on the beach there’s no deck chairs or sun beds because it’s middle of January but that is not stopping more dedicated tourist that’s Venus Beach Hotel up there and this path connects up to it and goes along the top there as well but

We’re going to stick to the lower one it looks like they’ve I don’t know if they’ve done any work on that little beach bar down there well not looks nice and clean now there’s a lot of bins around but that’s because these bins would normally be between all the

Sunbeds and obviously when they take the sun beds away they have to move the bins now if you remember from the last time I was filming here I had to uh get diverted across uh from here across to the Rocks over there and climber over that way cuz they were still doing this

Bit there’s more of the bins that line the entire walkway that was a big concern to a lot of people but all their worries have been put to one side yeah nice and empty as well and given how many people are around at the moment that indicates that they must get emptied fairly

Regularly which is good cuz I was just up at uh St George’s Beach and the bins uh didn’t look like they’ve been emptied for a while I mean you can understand it because it’s not t season the hotel’s closed and there’s no one about whereas here the sun has most definitely got his

Hat on now I’m not going to go an excessively long distance in this wall I’m just going to go past uh all the bits that I were being built last time I was here so I’m not going to go up to the uh what’s it called King Evon

Hotel but I did fly the Drone pass there so there will be some footage of that floating around somewhere Coast paath is obviously proving very popular with families and joggers if you come here early one in the morning especially you’ll see a lot of them desperate enough to film young

Families come ins side slightly I swam in there once R to the beach for it was a nice enough swim but it’s uh I was glad when I got to the other end put it that way I’m not the strongest swimmer in the world not my wife it’s embarrassing actually being AB

SW by your misses by quite some margin now there’s a funny new building up here and I don’t think anyone actually knows officially what it is but word on the street if you like is that it’s going to be a little wedding chapel but I have no idea if that’s the case or

Not it certainly looks like it’s going to be that kind of thing I’d be very surprised if it wasn’t to be honest there a dogo cool I have to say I’m feeling the heat on the back of my head at the moment through my hat so even though it’s

Only mid to late January quite warm now the hotel there is being built a must have been being building that one since I started visiting Cyprus that must be a good 10 12 years ago and for years nothing happened but they seem to have pull their fingers out so to

Speak it’s got to be a wedding chaper doesn’t it really don’t what else that’s going to be and there’s lots more m serious work going on up here not sure which walkway I want to be taking 7:00 the top one doesn’t appear to go anywhere at the moment

There Pap’s second most popular back out there let’s go and film some of the rocks oh down here looks good actually for that I could end with some uh crashing waves in slowmo or something yeah that upper path just seems to be coming back down again to join

Us oh no it’s going around again just when I thought I’d sus it out it must joint I can’t believe they build two Bridges right next to each other someone must really like building V is past the EV which is what I’m deciding that hotel must be uh there is

A very nice bit which I haven’t really filmed much in the past I need to give it an article of its own I think I was very pleasantly surprised when I filmed it I was going to say earlier on in the year year but it was late last year oh

It’s where the path comes back around that’s another exciting path action for you today mysterious cupboard thanks for that mate oh I think they might be summoning their kids which makes a bit more sense than just wanting a toot to be on the camera right rather than continue out

There which I’m not really inclined to do and walk over here and change the camera settings so I can get some slow-mo of the crashing waves on the Rocks it’s a shame with copyright cuz otherwise I’d have the Fe from thean n playing at the same time and go around a bit further Actually excuse the wubbles now if I was really dedicated I go and sit on that rock over there it’s getting pounded but I’m not that dedicated has to be said so I’ll change the settings and then see what we get but now I’ll just say goodbye thanks for watching Cheers

A couple of months ago we filmed a walk along the newly-renovated Paphos Coast Path. If you recall we were fine until we got to Venus Beach, after which we had to go off-piste. Well the main run is now open again, so in this film we walk from Venus Beach along the stretch that was still being worked on last time around. Come and marvel at the changes…
