I didn’t Expect this on my Day Trip to Würzburg/Germany /Deutsch Untertitel
Church church Church mostbook is awesome oh wow look at that toilet it’s a toilet yo smells here so awesome uh smells like sausage right now anyway so hey welcome to woodsb really nice Town um it’s a somewhat sunny day so we’re going to check out the town see what it has to Offer so behind me is uh the Falcon house this is the tourist information center so this is where also the tourist information center is here you can book tickets for events and also for tour guides and also things like Concerts I he the wine is good here that’s something I’ll definitely check out uh so far I didn’t see any place that was written when it was constructed you can also get a small snippet of what WSB offers or what it is that you about to experience you can
Also get a lot of brochures and also uh small guides on how and where to Visit and the red really crazy looking house is uh the Maran capella it’s a gothic church that was pretty much constructed in the in here says 1377 Jesus Christ that’s a long Timey the church is a very imposing structure within the woodsburgh landscape uh and the interior is just in sane the Marian capella was built in 1377 up to 1480 the Maran capella is said to have been built on top of a Jewish synagogue so this place used to be a Jewish
Quarter which was burnt down in 1347 uh it say that uh there was a plague and uh the Jews were blamed for it and that led to the persecution of the Jews and the Jewish quarter and the synagogue were burnt down and just outside the Marin capella
There was a wine festival that was blocking a few of the entrances and we decided to explore a little bit uh this is the damage people have done after the wine festival last night oh interesting here at the wine festival people are all seated very ORD
Very very ORD uh in the other places is a standing tables uh there is seated tables but normally standing tables tend to be more common uh such a shame no sausages I came here to actually try and see if I can get some sausages that’s how it’s made fortunately they’re on summer vacation
It’s a bit light is this place known for good beer or it’s just wine I think more [Laughter] wi I thought it was going to come in this here so excited it came in this fancy glass does it affect the taste I don’t know compared to this
One I’m sure here it have tasted a bit different maybe the profile would have been a bit more Next we checked out uh the new monster church this is such an amazing place it has a very impressing baren facade the church is dedicated to John the Baptist the elaborate ceiling paintings just makes you wonder how long it took to actually do all of this and from what
I’ve read it was actually done by hand that’s just some serious craftsmanship wow wow wow something else that really I find really interesting is the organs up there and the place just it’s just holy in itself just extremely extremely moving um the chch was actually heavily
Damaged uh in the bombing of wburg by the Royal Air Force in 1945 leading to the destruction of much of the church and and the interior was also destroyed and it was renovated and reconstructed back and reopened in 1967 and once again renovated from 2009 to 2011 the same baroan elements were
Restored and also an additional Modern Art was basically installed old as Well we also got to visit the shrine of St Killian which is actually underneath or underground so St kilan was a Irish missionary back in I think 750 that’s that’s a long time ago and he was martyred or he was basically uh killed together with two of his
Colleagues so they sent Killian the shrine which is here in new monster church and there’s also s Killian the church which is also the wburg Cathedral The St kilan Cathedral or the wburg cathedral is 105 M high it’s the third largest cathedral building in Germany the woodburger cathedral incorporates both a Gothic style of architecture and also a baroan style of architecture the main construction is Romanesque that is uh from the Roman period or Roman
Style of architecture and the gothic uh style came in at around the 1500s and then the baroan style was incorporated or added into the design and interior later on in the 16th century the cathedral and the attached Monastery existed in wburg as far asn’t as early as the 8th Century it say that
Uh it was first built by the bishop bookart on the 8th of July 752 where the bishop transferred the remains of St Killian uh together with his two colleagues to the cathedral and the bodies and the remains of the Three Saints still rest in the high alar in
The cathedral the wburg cathedral has served as a burial grounds for the prince Bishops of walsburg for the last hundreds of years I’m thinking now time to get some food and some cold drinks The bridge is I think it’s kind of like a mixture there’s people who are not drinking and there’s people who are passing by going to Cel which we’re going to go there after this hopefully delicious meal is going to be patient ships small warning I got it’s not a f fries are
Nice fish is good fish is actually from the river I need to eat slowly SW B but it’s really tasty crisy FL so this one should be heavenly then here is something called this building is from 1413 Jesus Christ that’s a long long time and it’s it’s a restaurant yeah
1413 wow wow wow that’s some history there 143 that’s like uh that’s around 600 years Jesus if only these walls could tell Tales we would only know but we don’t know only the walls can tell let’s see here oh look look the walls are telling you can’t read but I can’t
Read this the same writing you find in beer just nearby the main river is the woodburger cranon constructed in 1767 to 1773 with operations beginning in 1773 the WB crane was only on operation for like around 73 years before it was decommissioned in 1846 so it’s built 1767 started and finished in
1773 just took uh 6 years interesting water oh these are high water levels has it ever reached there oh wow Jesus Christ You’re Not Safe yeah the old cran or the AL cran survived the world war and was intact and completely unscathed even though most of woods was pretty much destroyed
Next to the crane is also a famous Beer Garden in wsbg the fish and chips kind of got us into a British mood and we didn’t expect this but hey I’m seriously curious here we managed to actually pump into a nice British shop that’s not really far away from the bridge
Inside really nice awesome British things that remind me of uh my days back in the uni some nice biscuits tea and most importantly whiskey the queen saying goodbye as we headed to the Maran B Fortress we passed through the old main Bridge it was just like a small sneak
Peek cuz we heard that uh people come to drink there and well we thought it was pretty much normally towards the evening but we were wrong a saint there’s people getting married and around me bunch of people getting drunk at 11:00 the bridge is say to have been
Built in the 12th century even though I think uh in the 12th century it was built from wooden components but there was a little bit of updating to towards the periods then I think in the baroan Peri period that’s when they added the Saints and also some of the flare and
Also um the stone arches as well a kid riding a bicycle full of tins I think that’s a it’s a way to protect your kid not to get lost this is a German but uh in uh in English the heck yeah it’s the same one which is in
The Panama Canal but it’s a you can go Back the route to Maran Fortress is a hike you can clearly get the feeling of this place is actually a fortress getting to it was not an easy fit yeah that elevation just con doesn’t stop so the shorter route is quite steep compared to the longer route the longer
Route is through the vineyard um it’s a b more gentle in terms of gradient compared to the shorter route and so we decided to use the shorter route going up and using the longer route going down I would say at this point I would use the longer rout going
Up is it worth the Sweat the Marburg Fortress offers an amazing vantage point over wburg and amazing views over the town of wburg I got to see a mo for the first time in my Life Previously the Maran BG was just a hill and in the late Bronze Age a small Fort was built by the franconian Dukes a church was also built in 741 and this became the first Church of the woodsburgh Bishops The marienburg Fortress has been the home of the ruling Prince Bishops of woodsburgh from 12:53 up to 1719 um we got to the Fortress when it was a a little bit late and we were not
Fortunate enough to actually see or get to access a lot of the places which we would normally have had access to if we came earlier guards in the cour there’s also the back fre or the Watchtower close the Mes in the culture there’s also a museum
But it was closed on this day the St Mary’s Church also uh the oldest church in wburg dating back thousands of years uh was also closed in 1945 the castle was completely destroyed and bombed and it burned for 10 straight days and after the war they uh managed to
Rebuild it and the construction ended in 1990 bring water or just get the bus the thing that really impresses me the most is the high super high walls I Jesus Christ who’s going to who’s going to try to climb this one and on this side there’s another one which is
Actually on that side is it’s the mo so when you climb that one you have to come down here and then you face this one up here again trying to figure out what kind of bugy or what kind of thievery was happening to motivate such kind of for you to build something
This yes this significant or to protect yourself this much God damn oh man check this out so the castle has witnessed a lot of conflicts throughout its existence and another another M here wow here’s the mot again but now it’s a park I really like these places especially the
Doors the Maran BG Fortress has witnessed a lot of conflict uh in its existence it seems that a lot of the fortifications were constructed by different uh Bishops uh during their Rule and a lot of the fortifications um came in around 1600s and the last fortifications came in at around late 1800s
History oh there’s even a parking meter remember there’s a time I took a train went uh I don’t know where I went I think it was old I ended up paying for parking cuz I forgot that I actually came on [Laughter] foot ah oh wow look at that toilet
That’s a toilet oh wow cool let me see actually get to see what it looks like inside some of these places wow this is just a toilet man to be honest this is the best toilet I’ve ever seen taking a about to take a historical piece
So going back down we take the longer route through the vineard I’m going to have really sticky hands wow ready that’s so soft it just explode in your mouth this is actually nice on The Vineyards you will find the mauli tower and uh this was the last part of the
Fortification that was constructed in the late 1800s these on the one going to be eaten uhuh this one give you diarrhea this one gives you diarrhea see get a guide if was he alone my goodness that’s a sharp wall this is how the wines are grouped in a
Row looking like the prince of the castle oh M the well they’re actually really nice later on we’ll buy a lot of wine compensate for these ones like a lot most is awesome nice I really like them so the wine should be good yeah mhm wow these things are even exploding in
Just my hand not encouraged first of all they haven’t been washed so this could go downhill massively this is where you can get the wine M since 11:28 yeah my goodness eating some aged wine here oh it’s fruits it’s not wine yet see some people are wasting wine
Here after all this work someone just leaves their way in there some heart there are mons these are mons after drinking the wine after drinking the wine yeah Ste grapes no if you’re going to borrow grapes just to taste make sure you carry some white ones cuz they get really
Sticky just sticky hands stealing grapes not stealing borrowing borrowing just for a small little the hike down from the Maran B Fortress was so scenic and so enjoyable I had to basically have a taste of the grapes and also refuel myself from uh the earlier hike that we actually had to take going
Up the Maran Fortress Frankish Franken food Frankin food Frankish food like beer sauce oh beer sauce MH so we can add some more no there’s a chef behind you don’t next in the to-do list was the resident but we were already late and uh the the residenti had already closed so
We decided to look for a nice restaurant tuck in and enjoy some Frankish food are you surprised no is this a potato oh okay nood it’s a potato originally it was potato but it’s more than potato what did they do to it they cooked it they smashed it they added
Different things to it spices that there’s also filling in it it’s really tasty it’s a called CTO clothes Yeah this thing needs to be need a special time for itself that’s for the last save for the last and on the side you have a fresh cabbage salad oh this is not S no Vice Co salad and the so right now I’m getting to pull this PO nice mix it up flavor
Sauce get that potato stuff also let me try this take and some nice wine on the main Bridge who can shop at can you taste vits Book it’s empty
