Big deal for you here we are at the wait for it West failure booth and I am so excited to have Len join us this morning Len um welcome back to the program Len joined us a couple eight months ago what’s up Wednesday so let me spin this

Around quick and um Len who are you sir I’m head of sales for Road Trek and the West filia Brands uh here in North America so I’m excited to have you with us this morning and we’re going to give you an introduction to what’s new uh this time around it’s with the West

Failure so we’re pretty excited West faia I just got to tell you it’s a it’s when you think of Van life van travel Volkswagen Base West Valley tell us the history the iconic brand the bottom line is it’s an iconic brand here in North America it’s going to bring back great

Memories for a lot of folks days gone by whether it’s West Coast the surfer crowd into the mountains with the West failure uh VW Camper vans uh all were exciting times a lot of you viewers out there know how just uh significant West failure played you know a role in your

Life in the past we’re bringing it back to North America and uh that’s what this retail launch is what a better place to do it than here today at the Florida RV Super Show well said sir and it’s a little chilly here in Florida it’s a

Touch bit chilly but I think if we were in Minnesota uh it’s going to be a whole lot chillier or back home in uh Ontario Canada it’s real cold right now Len would you mind give us a little tour I think we’re going to start with this one

Right sure and then we have one here so let me switch the camera um again we’d be happy to take a question two at the end but let’s get there we go all right sir yeah L this floor is yours what are we looking at here well what we’re looking at here

Is is the first introduction back to North America and it’s on a ProMaster chassis it’s 159 in wheel base the the highlight of this particular coach is the pop top a lot of you remember W filion associated with the VW that camper van concept well this is in a

Slightly larger scale here today and of course um sleeping get ready for this sleeping for six or maybe more I caution all your viewers that the seat bels are only for four but if you’re bringing friends guests for the weekend great lots of room two or three kids maybe up

Top two in the dining in the bench seat right here in the coach we’re going to hold that we’ll show them a little bit later but two sleeping in this bench here and a couple more in the back end the versatility of the back end of this coach for twin uh Queen asymmetrical

King we’ve got lots of configurations lots of storage things to talk about so it’s it’s pretty exciting it’s pretty exciting and this is kind of the floor plan here soor we’re going to jump in here in a minute your MSRP is really quite reasonable yeah it absolutely it

Is we’re looking 53 Grand that’s pretty amazing uh that’s yeah here on this pop top yeah this with the pop top loaded it’s 167 that’s with a black accent package while we’re here we’ll talk about it ProMaster offers a black accent package which is a wheels and Grill and

That can be put on any one of the West Filas ordered what’s funky is six different colors are available on the exterior of this uh vehicle really even Spitfire orange cherries ceramic orange oh lots of color choices this is great would you mind kind of walking through

The inside let’s so we have a power step is that right yeah Power step nice for the people uh a little shorter people got pets they want in and out real easy it’s an easy step in it’s a wide tread to come in safely in and out of the

Vehicle when you close the sliding door of course that power step will slide away nice nice feature you have something there on the uh the short step cuz a lot of folks really do have a time that’s it and this is safer I think as much as getting in

The vehicle especially with the pets but coming out of the vehicle that just the confidence of stepping down it’s a great feature and it’s really wide too so good job on that yeah uh radi you come in the door we start with the convenience at

The door with a uh 3 cubot vetro frigo refrigerator it’s a compressor driven refrigerator very efficient handy at the door and as you come in who doesn’t want a little extra counter space when you come that’s a great feature uh as we slip into the coach we’ve got uh you’ll

Notice right away all kinds of accent lighting above cabinets along the floor line uh the ceiling panels even this accent panel forward to the bathroom it’s really a nice feature it’s really nice feature yeah so let me just put the camera up here so the there’s a ladder

That attaches here and you scamper up the ladder and then this is what you see uh we see a uh Skylight which is great yeah we’ve got an LED light strip up there there’s a place a US be charge port up there and a tray to put you know

I don’t know tablets oh that’s super cell phones things like that giv every to look around so a lot of um venting I would say and three zipper three zipper screens privacy panels the uh slide out very or the pop tops very easy to bring down lock for Transit one of the uh

Little bit of storage up here great uh cool features up in the cab area is this Ultra lightweight t uh tabletop so of course you want it for dining area it’s nice and the social in the front of the vehicle but if you want more Elbow Room

Up here and you’re not using the table this is designed ultra light weight Table leg can be removed very quickly and it can store in the cab over area so it’s out of the way but anybody can wait there I mean this is like 16 17 lbs

That’s it so that’s a nice feature and well hold on now this is cuz this I think is I’m seeing a trend here so everybody so I have a travado 59g which has a a table today 59 um but there everybody got rid of these permanent tables and went to the

Lagoon table which are great in some cases but I see a trend coming back to this cuz people have just decided this is more functional yours can be removed I didn’t know that at all and Demon demonstrate this uh yeah sure so so how this would work is okay just a leave

Let’s get our little the lever there to engage it and then you can slide it around so the passenger seat got a comfortable place for dining that’s why these tables are so important I think in a small space that’s it and I think also

L correct me if I’m wrong but if if you want to move this back and forth on this rail the idea will allow you to slide it back and forth along the rail you can lock it unlock it keep it in place little storage cubby underneath the tabletop there I’ll just get down

And his there we go there we are look at that nice job down in underneath for the Family Jewels that’s it yes sir then out the side is nice with the uh uh acrylic Windows these are a double panel window so it’s a thermal you know thermal style

Window it also gives you a great View at the campground open and closed it’s got screens privacy Shades but a nice big window at the damic well done and one thing I love about the awning style Windows is with in that kind of a just

Out a little bit and then if there’s a gentle rain with some no Breeze really you can open that up absolutely and get a ventilation there’s nothing like a fresh rain smell nice overhead cabinets here now the further back we go the deeper the cabinets get uh plenty of

Storage convenience in here there’s lots of little Cubbies throughout the West Filly as well it’s beautiful it’s it’s very European as you said and there’s just a Teensy bit of texture to it real sharp lines and very contrasting you know in here we’ve got the Artic wolf

Interior we call it uh you know with the black the white the gray accent so it all comes together nice the aircraft styled sidewall panels it gives the vehicle you know a very European look but the benefit is we can mold the these panels back to almost against the

Sidewalls of the van to increase the Elbow Room inside the vehicle so smart and it really feels luxurious well these panels these are made at our Factory and and custom fit to the each of the vehicles that we’re doing and the seating here um l so

Three point seat belts so one two uh yeah we’ve got uh child seat seat restraints there’s two of them here adjustable headrest and in the west failure it’s Italian leather is part of the package Italian leather Italian refrigerator with vetro frgo and then when we start to talk about appliances

We get into some of the the German uh you know uh quality with theer uh absolutely with the Tuli products the Tuli air conditioner is standard on our non-pop Top Model we’ve got the trumac combi for the air conditioner or for the furnace and the water heater as well so

Uh great Appliance Partners Thedford on the cassette toilet system so lots of great brand names great now convenience you got it right there OneTouch control it’s a tablet style monitor as you come into the vehicle there’s an auxiliary monitor in the back to help control additional lighting and things but here

Are all of the vehicle services including monitoring Battery Systems LED lighting control your tank levels even you can get to things like diagnostics for the vehicle things like that what’s working not that sort of thing and of course the HVAC controls whether it’s furnace air conditioner uh it’s all in

That one control panel well done yeah so let’s talk about the galley we talked about the fridge here which is great so you can excess you know chow and drinks from outside or inside it was pretty deep which is great now what is this thing so inside here is we do the you

Know the flush glass surface so there’s more counter space when you’re not cooking and this came out too right so look pops out so look at the amount of counter space is great little lighted pockets in here so you can put spices things like that whatever you want well

Done this lifts up two bur top I love it and no way thank you yeah so in my van I have two separate things and this always seems to attract everything in the stove I don’t know why and this way you kind of just brush it all off into the sink

That’s it man quick clean easy clean up back to uh having some fun here positive latches on all the door drawer fronts metal uh Glides onto the side everything uh they’re all locked when you’re traveling you don’t got to worry about half your laundry coming out of the you

Know this is just really good space planning and thinking cuz they’re flush yeah with the drawer front some of these Vans I see they have a big old thing sticking out here and you snag as you go by that’s kind of that European styling that we kind of carry throughout the

Vehicle keep it clean straight lines just a nice finished 700 WT microwave is here stand so nice really sturdy hinges thank you yeah yeah that’s right just little things nice the Light Panel along the top that’s all dimmable adjustable lighting of course this one’s G so Lyn

Let’s have you kind of give us my favorite room in the the van is a bathroom so what we got going on in here yeah what’s nice is um lots of space it’s clean it’s all place to store some things away nice Lighting in there that lighting is adjustable as well look at

This ladies and gentl you see my hand and you can notice the fford cassette toilet in here it’s a 4. 75 Gall uh cassette tank on the outside of the vehicle two drain points yeah super smart you know why if your Van’s on an angle it’s going to drain in

One of the drains I I run around the puddle of mine cuz I only have one drain point this is super nice job a really nice job the Ladi and gentlemen if you notice this there’s a little bit of LED lighting there in the Cubbies again your your your molding form here takes

Advantage of the space in the Ram uh van that is gorgeous and some people like a nice full length mirror this brightens up the hall area but also serves a valuable purpose in the vehicle too so that is so smart as we come toward the back we start to get some storage which

Makes for an easier step up into the bed platform so there’s storage underneath here oh yeah there’s storage that a sliding drawer on the back side of it to pull out to tuck stuff away as well now the versatility in the back end here there’s so many combinations you can do

Whether it’s storage as most important to you or it’s sleeping uh Comfort uh here right now we can flip this cushion back over by sliding the bed rails out in the back to to make either a double sort of that twin bag configuration to the side or an asymmetrical King in the

Back we have a center cushion that inserts here if you want that extra length and it’ll drop in place to give you all that uh sleeping you see how deep the overhead cabinets are in the back that is and even across the back of the van which is nice and

You don’t see a lot of that these days where you’ve got cabinets across the backs that’s a nice feature um air conditioning L is that what is the story on that uh air conditioners GE air conditioners on our pop top model and then in our standard built unit that

Doesn’t have the pop top we can f facilitate the space for the uh um truma Aon air conditioner very efficient very whisper quiet operation it’s a great great condition excited to have that love the little pocket here yeah we got a few of these one here one in the

Back door one in the side so great rear light uh the rear windows here same tilt out windows uh privacy screens privacy Shades yeah yeah so let’s jump outside let’s kind of look around the back um again this is the the floor plan now the website is where do we go to information

Irritating your boss I know um okay so again we got uh Carefree awning out here yes um there’s the uh AC up there pop top other exterior features is the drawer for the cassette uh pull out on the back side of the vehicle we mentioned earlier the black accent

Package it’s an option if you prefer if you just spin around you’ll see the standard aluminum wheel there standard the option upgrade and when you get into those funky colors it really looks good you Spitfire orange with a black accent you know you’re making a statement where

You’re going and once you have one of these and you’re at every gas station you’re going to be answering questions left right oh that’s it we we’re everywhere we wearing this hat around the show yesterday I was wandering around uh and yeah all kinds of questions where do I see those great

Actually we want to give a big shout out to uh I think he bought one of these just Jerry that’s right he did he the one that CL me in on this so thanks Jerry yes indeed we’re EXC let’s take a look at this this is pretty cool so here

In the back of this one of course uh we want heavy duty bug screens I just want so we don’t miss that feature cuz there’s so much junk when it comes to the bug screens and RVs whether it’s Class B CA I don’t care there a lot of

Them are junk this is a very heavy duty system on this one on it of course we can uh take the Fasteners on the back we can drop this down we have privacy uh privacy panels we have the bug screen open for view to the back pockets in the

Back unzip the whole thing and take it away this is cool yeah it’s just it’s great this is cool so it’s smart again efficient SP space planning so yeah let’s zip over to the next model here and we’ll we’ll have a quick look at how the storage works in the back or save

The customers while they roll that back up we’ll keep it moving for you keep it moving you got a busy day I bet right live stream yeah doing new stuff in 2020 24 what’s your goal ladies and gentlemen how about getting a new van oh my

Goodness look at this okay we all know how expensive those mountain bikes can be these days nobody wants to hang them on a bike rack5 $6,000 bikes and I’m not exaggerating they can be expensive here’s a place you can store them safely inside the vehicle if you’re bringing

The bikes along when you travel in the daytime or whatever you can remove the uh cushion set here we keep them bcro together so every everything stays in place when you’re sleeping at night you can turn them over slide them forward you can also lift the rack slide

It out the way and now You’ got a big cargo hold across the back is cavernous yeah what is this probably 5 ft by at least three big enough for two mountain bikes oh my God I never anything like that so this is great you have pass through storage for whether it’s skis

Whatever surfboard that kind of thing looks like a little bit of storage here too uh yes sir oh no way inflatable paddle boards that kind of think can fold up in the back here lots of little Cubbies for storage and thanks for putting just a little bit here just to

Hold things in that’s all you need uh wow it’s really cool outside uh rinse shower in the back of the vehicle right here so quick connect y so if you’re not familiar with that this thing goes yeah that’ll just connect on here got plug it

In and then you spray your I don’t know your gear off your hose your dirty feet off um maybe hose your spout spouse off a little hot that’s that’s right she’s too too hot she’s too hot let me give you this uh what is this uh that’s just

Venting for uh inverter in the back of the vehicle hot water or freshwater tank get ready for this yeah and I’m not joking 38 gallons of freshwater capacity 26 gallons of gray water storage capacity in here so we’re big on tanks it’s important when you travel you’ve got to have the

Water and so here the back to the versatility just for a second of the the back end here we can remove this panel completely if you want even more storage so you have to use your imagination however you want to set up the bed for is it one person two people tall person

Short person you know uh lots of ways to configure the back end here incredible and here’s the uh the panel you’re talking about access accessories for lighting that sort of thing in the back windows um good job on using truma oh yeah fantastic are we ready do you want

To go and look at the big excitement let’s have a look let’s have a look this is great this is so great oh before we go look at this cool placement of the power good job yeah and of course hitch a hitch standard on all of our promas

Chassis is so awesome all right let’s go see this let’s go see this is excited got to be pumped see something new at every RV show this is something this is come to these this is why people love RV shows and so we were talking early about

Sleeping capacity in the west failure if it’s the pop top model we say six or more it’s however much you can tolerate but again seat belts for just four this unit has the child tethers on it all right so intended sleeping on the standard model cuz it has a big

Beautiful Skylight not a pop top this is gorgeous is this one sleeps for how do we sleep four simple two in the back and in the front we can convert this Bo this bench seat into a bed what just like that and you know what I’m I’m going to

Say I’m 200 lb but I’m lying 200 and more Rock Solid platform comfortable sleeping for two way that is insane comfortable sleeping that is insane two up here and then when you’re ready to now think about it if your grandparents and you want to take a couple of grandkids along but you don’t

Want to be lifting the pop tops you don’t have to it’s that easy to set up a bed for for kids in here hold on one second let me show the folks this engineering Masterpiece down let me get out of your way this is just insane yeah

And that is that’s Innovation ladies and gentlemen this is the first time I’ve ever seen something like that good job let me just show you how we put that back together how easy is it lift up the back and just grab the front you know I’m using a couple of fingers this

Doesn’t take Hercules to do it just that simple so sweet out of the way and again that big beautiful window when you sit here and you’re traveling it’s wonderful and we talked earlier about the table storage look at how light this table is to tuck

Out of the way W I mean it’s ridiculous it’s that that is just look at that one hand yeah oh my God that is so cool I am a good job on placement of the outlet can do some work Outlet there we’ve got an outlet up here some USB ports in here

I love this so beautiful I wish I had one of those so bad of course yeah bug screen screen or blackout privacy Shades so with lighting yeah so well done Len tell us a little bit about the electrical system a lot of folks are into lithium solar what’s the story on

That uh well we’re Masters at the technology when it comes for the electronics we put our 600 amps of lithium battery power in this vehicle 3,000 WT sine wave inverter so the air is running the fridge you know the F whatever we’re not worrying about tripping Breakers that kind of thing the

Vehicle comes equipped standard with an underhood generator so we utilize the chassis fuel efficiency whisper quiet idle engine speed to help replenish battery power so you don’t have a bulky noisy generator under the vehicle uh when you know on a campsite and we all know at campsites it’s not always easy

To be able to use a generator to replenish battery power say after 8:00 at night yeah right but you can idle usually you can idle a chassis so you can Urban Camp you can go to the grocery run the XE yeah and just as you drive away it’s it’s charging the battery 280

Amp output of that uh gu underhood generator for us and so you can get a quick replenishment of the lithium battery but again uh 600 amps and of course solar we can’t forget about solar yeah it’s kind of hidden out of the way here but on the pop top model we have

200 watts of solar 300 watts of solar on the standard model wow I am a smitten I am actually going to award this best of show from go small live large cuz we love it the storage back to this thing is breathtaking thank you for this um
