Paris 2🇫🇷シャネル本店とパリの美食レストラン、そしてナポレオンが眠るアンヴァリットへ

Good morning. Today we will go to Les Invalides, which I have always admired from the Pont Alexandre III bridge. Les Invalides is known as the resting place of French hero Napoleon, but it was originally a sanatorium for veterans. Do you know anything about Invalides? All I know is that Napoleon’s grave is there.

Let’s go find out more. When I checked the weather, it looked like it was going to rain, but this morning it’s not raining and I can see blue skies, so we want to go sightseeing as early as possible this morning and prepare for the rain possibly later! Well then, let’s go.

Les Invalides was built around the same time as Palace of Versailles in the 1670s, by order of Louis XIV, known as the Sun King, it was built as a military hospital and sanatorium that could accommodate 4,000 veterans.

Louis XIV felt sorry for the soldiers who got injured in French battles and wanted to help them, also he didn’t like seeing wounded soldiers walking through the streets of pretty Paris. Therefore, he chose to build Invalides away from the city center in the suburbs of Paris, in the 15th arrondissement.

Speaking of the French Revolution, people often think of the storming of the Bastille it is said that the Parisian people looted Invalides before storming the Bastille. It was to steal the guns and cannons from the weapons warehouse here in Invalide. Possibly, here at Les Invalides, is where the French Revolution began.

Now let’s go inside. After passing through the courtyard there is the Dome Church, considered the pinnacle of religious construction, and its golden dome is the symbol of Invalides. In 1840, Napoleon’s body was placed in this church. So much detail Every little bit of it has ornate design to it.

In this church, there is Napoleon’s tomb, as well as, his son, his brother, the author of the National Anthem of France and famous French war generals are all entombed here. Goodbye, Napoleon. For today’s lunch, we visited a restaurant that has the same owner as NARRO that we introduced in a previous video.

This time we are at a restaurant called Baillotte, which opened this year. This wine is from the Loire Valley, know for the castle Château of Blois. I grew up in that region. Bon Appétit! It was so delicious! I don’t think you can get such satisfying food anywhere else at this price.

We want to come back to this resturant again when we visit next time. We had lunch at a French restaurant in the Saint-Germain-des-Prés area. It was very delicious. The colors are very nice and it’s good for the eyes and the taste. It was very delicate and delicious. how was it?

It was very delicious. What was your favorite? The entrée. Did you have the mackerel? Yes the mackerel was very good. And the seasonal vegetables So tasty. Not overly seasoned, just done right. I think that the chef knows the natural flavors of each of the ingredients and tries to bring that out. Highly recommended.

Definitely recommend to come down to this. We just went to the Chanel flagship store. The store opens at 10:30 in the morning, we arrived 40 minutes after it opened. There were 8 groups of customers waiting in front of us to see bags,

Were told that it would take about 30 minutes, so we decided to walk around the inside of the store. We met the SA about 30 minutes later. I think it’s popular in every country right now, but I wanted a mini flap,

So when I told the SA I was looking for a mini flap, he initially offered me three bags. Unfortunately, the black mini-flap is so popular that there is a 6-month wait in Paris. The SA said that he receives inquiries from about 10 customers a day. It seems to be very popular.

When I was in Japan in August, I was at a Chanel store and they had one available, they showed it to me in the back room, but at that time I didn’t have a strong desire, so I passed on it. I wish I had bought it at that time.

It seems to be really popular in Paris. I was then asked if there was anything else I was looking for, so I asked if they had the caviar skin classic flap, as I had always wanted one someday, and they had it in stock.

By the way, the medium size caviar skin comes with both gold and silver hardware. I don’t carry a lot of items and I travel a lot, so I prefer a smaller bag, and the medium size was bigger than I expected, so I asked if they had a small size in stock,

And they had both silver and gold hardware in stock. I really wanted a mini flap bag this time, so I was put on the waiting list. The SA said he doesn’t know how long it will take, but he said he will do his best.

There is a staircase in the Chanel flagship store that leads to the Chanel atelier, I had always wanted to see it, this time David asked the SA about it and we were able to see it. So accommodating. He was happy to show us around. He explained that there’s three levels.

Upstairs was the atelier. The middle was the press showroom. And supposedly she would hide when the new collection would come out and then judge the reactions of the press so she could do it secretly, see how they reacted to her new collections. And then she would have special parties as well.

But he told us she never lived here, but they left the upstairs away, that she had had it set up originally. But he said that she had spent the rest of her time in the Ritz Hotel. That staircase leads to Chanel’s private space. I’ve known about it,

I wanted to see it someday, so I’m glad we asked the SA to show it to us. He was so nice and accommodating. Very nice guy. I was a little disappointed that the mini-flap wasn’t available, Similar to Hermès, Chanel also has a fast turnover of products, popular items were selling like hot cakes.

Someday, I’d like to walk-in, and purchase a mini-flap bag.

  2. Hi Nanri and David. What a gorgeous day it was at the beginning of the vlog. We regret not visiting Napoleon’s tomb when we were in Paris many years ago. Time to go back!! The food presentation really stunning. You seem to find the best places to dine in your travels. You must do research where to eat. I’m feeling your regret not grabbing the mini flap in Japan too. See you in the next vlog. Have a great weekend.
