Treblinka was the second-deadliest extermination camp to be built and operated by Nazi Germany in occupied Poland during World War II.
Dachau (22 March 1933 – 29 April 1945)
Dachau was one of the first concentration camps built by Nazi Germany and the longest running one.
The Dachau camp system grew to include nearly 100 sub-camps, which were mostly work camps or Arbeitskommandos.
Belsen (1943 – 15 April 1945)
Bergen-Belsen was a Nazi concentration camp in what is today Lower Saxony.
A memorial with an exhibition hall currently stands at the site.
Auschwitz
On 27 January 1945, Auschwitz concentration camp—a Nazi concentration camp and extermination camp in occupied Poland. The date is recognized as International Holocaust Remembrance Day.
