When I left Bali I continued east to Lombok.
But before going to the main island I stopped off at the Gili Islands first.

Gili Air was a great little island that was perfect for relaxing.
Even though the beaches were nice I mostly stayed in the pool at my hostel.
I don’t think I’ve ever been lazier than I was at Gili Air.

After a few days I decided to go to Gili Trawangan(AKA: Gili T) and see what “The Party Island” was like.
I was incredibly disappointed.
This island is absolutely filthy.

The people of Gili T keep the beaches relatively clean.
But the rest of the island looks like a garbage landfill.

A hotel employee told me that Gili T gets 1000 tourists a day in the high season, and 500 a day in the low season.
The boats from Lombok only come to Gili T once or twice a week to collect the trash.
This is obviously a huge problem.

I was quite shocked at how bad the island was.
And I was even more shocked at the tourists that absolutely loved it there.
They must have seen a different Gili T than I did.

*Most of this footage was spontaneously shot with an iPhone 5, sorry.*
The better looking footage was shot with a Nikon D600.
Any GoPro Footage was shot with a Hero3.
