Hanami (花見, ” bloomed Cherry flower viewing”) is a traditional custom and a famous festival of enjoying the beauty of bloomed flowers (“hana”). The flowers mostly are cherry (“sakura”) or, less commonly,, plum (“ume”) trees. Chanchan and us are enjoying the Hanami on April 3, 2020. Notably, those trees are planted at North Park of Allegheny County, Pittsburgh by Japan Association of Greater Pittsburgh under the Pittsburgh Sakura Project, formally started in May 2007.
