Lille, France | Christmas Markets | Christmas 2023 | Full Tour

E hey everyone and welcome to Leo France Manny and I were staying in Brussels Belgium and took the Eurostar which was under an hour to the G Deo Europe for a day trip to Leo to enjoy the Christmas Market and to check out this stunning and colorful city of Leo France our first stop was over to see the Citadel de Leo built by the order of Louis the 14th UNC Conquering the city Le’s pentagonal or star-shaped Citadel was built between 1667 and 1670 and known as the queen of the citadels The Citadel of Le is among the most impressive and effective military

Fortifications ever built though I only saw the beautiful entrance because you can only visit it on the weekend this picture shows just how massive The Fortress Is The Fortress is also located in a beautiful Park and right next to the Zoo From there we headed towards the city center Le is the capital of the Huda France region in northern France near the border with Belgium it’s a cultural Hub and bustling university city today and renowned for its friendliness it was once an important merchant center of French Flanders and many Flemish

Influences still remain the historic Center vuo which is where we were headed is characterized by the 17th century brick tow houses narrow Cobblestone pedestrian streets colorful buildings and the large Central Square called Grand plas being in American and having been to New Orleans many times which was

Once owned by the French I enjoyed seeing the similar architecture of the exteriors especially of the windows and the doors I found the town which was so quiet and almost so quiet that at times it felt abandoned to be just so Charming So this is the notredam cathedral here in Le um it’s not exactly what I was expecting it looks very modern and I think they’re in the middle of renovating it um but it’s very different than what I expected So this facade is a bit more of what I was expecting the front is really modern and it’s almost like it’s two different Cathedrals it’s kind of strange [Applause] [Applause] so this absolutely stunning building is the Chamber of Commerce So this other stunning building is the Le Opera [Applause] House [Applause] you want to go over by the market I didn’t get that Little We walk through the stunning ornate Old Stock Exchange venue into its arched Courtyard where you could buy items of Interest so they have all these old French newspapers which is really cool La I’m coming home oh oh I’m coming home I want to be home for the holidays because home is only home when I’m with you I want to be home for the holidays because home is only you when you okay we’re heading in to check out the Leo Christmas Market the Christmas

Market was located in PL reor which was right in the middle of the shopping district to be the holid to you are like Amazing they have donuts and vget so vget is is fried dough essentially a donut but Amazing I’m coming home oh oh I’m coming home okay this looks delicious um it’s potatoes with bre cheese and with ham it’s really really hot it’s so hot it’s so good my gosh with you when I’m with you oh so this is now potatoes with him with racket cheese so a little bit different

Ret cheese is that big thing of cheese that they melted a high heat and then they just kind of scrape off oh my gosh look at this stee the other thing is regular cheese is really stinky so you can usually smell it like a mileo We’re in France of course Macarons A So I just got a hot chocolate in my keys cup if you return the cup you get two Euro back or you can keep it so your choice they also have vinard which is the same thing as blue Zion if you’re familiar with if you’re not familiar

With that it’s the same thing as actually mold wine which is hot wine with spices really good really hot o so Hot So on this side they have old vintage photos from the 1900s O So this is dut or beignet and it’s filled with hot Nutella amazing I’m covered in Sugar I Know I love France so getting to spend the day in Leo during Christmas was so special make sure that you’re subscribed because more to come on Belgium and London see you next time
