The Aposelemis Dam, situated in the Heraklion Prefecture, has been supplying water to the cities of Heraklion and Ajios Nikolaos since 2012. Located 30 kilometers away from Heraklion and 20 kilometers from the Lassithi Plateau, this impressive dam boasts a water capacity of 27.3 million cubic meters.

The water stored in the Aposelemis Dam originates from both the Aposelemis Basin and the Lassithi Plateau. An underground tunnel spanning 3,500 meters was ingeniously constructed to transfer surplus water from the plateau.
