In this video you can ride along on Autoroute A1 E25 E62 from Lausanne to Geneva in the West of Switzerland. This part of the A1 runs entirely in the French-speaking part of the country and follows the famous lake Geneva.

Driving the A1 on an ordinary weekend, you can see that the A1 here too is at capacity in most places. During the week traffic will be even more intense. Both Lausanne and Geneva are large cities in Switzerland and of economic importance. Additionally, this is the main highway to neighboring country France.

Geneva is the country’s 2nd largest city after Zürich and Lausanne is the country’s 4th largest city after Basel in 3rd. Driving between both cities in the western direction, Lake Geneva is on the left and the Jura mountains (border with France) are on the right. The Alps are also on the left and become more visible towards the end of the video.

Upon approach of Geneva, there is a short variant of the A1 that branches off towards the city and lake (1A). The A1 proceeds to bypass the city on the West via a set of tunnels.
