[Tokyo Trip] Asakusa/Sightseeing without crowds/Ginza Line Asakusa/Local Japan trip/Sensoji /Seabus

Asakusa sightseeing. Breakfast at a coffee shop. Sumida river cruise. Matcha ice cream. Soba noodles. Night view of Tokyo. A retro trip to Japan. Welcome to Local Japan. Hello everyone. Today I’m going to take a walk in good old Asakusa, which has been crowded with people since the Edo period.

First, take the subway to Asakusa. This is the last stop on the Ginza Line bound for Ueno Asakusa. First, let’s check out what is said to be Japan’s oldest underground shopping mall. Please aim for exit number 6 ♪ Stand-up soba and udon noodles. It’s tasteful, easy to eat, and delicious.

The soup was said to be homemade, and there were a number of customers of all ages and genders. There is also an izakaya at night, so why not have a drink with the locals? From here, you’ll be on the ground. I’m going to go have breakfast at a coffee shop.

This is Kannon Street Metro Shopping Association. Since it’s January, there are still New Year’s decorations. Returning to Asakusa Station, the first subway in Japan was opened between Ueno and Asakusa. Asakusa Station has been selected as one of the top 100 stations in the Kanto region.

I arrived at the coffee shop in about 5 minutes from the station. The store has a nice ivy leaf design. Let’s go inside right away. The inside of the store is sparkling, but for some reason it feels calming. Warm towel towels are part of Japanese hospitality culture.

It’s tempting to wipe your face, but you should wipe your hands instead. I ordered the morning set today. Let’s start with coffee! Payment seems to be cash only. The set has arrived. The bread used is Pelican bread. It’s chewy, moist, and goes well with butter.

The staff are also friendly and have a great atmosphere. We were told that it would be fine to take pictures as long as no other customers were in the picture. Thank you for the delicious breakfast. Now, let’s walk towards the Sumida River.

Just as I was thinking that, one of the five Shiranami men appeared in front of me. Do you know samurai? It’s a little scary that he doesn’t have a little finger on his hand, but he’s a great thief who protects this land.

It’s a very popular Kabuki play, and it’s a story about five people who are thieves, but somehow you can’t hate them. This is a story about a stylish Edo kid. I’m currently walking towards the Sumida River. Since it is a coming-of-age ceremony, there are many young women wearing kimonos.

I came along the Sumida River. The silver sky tree and trains are cool. You can clearly see the Sky Tree along the Sumida River. The weather is nice, so let’s take a little walk.

Along the way, you can also see various ukiyo-e paintings from the Edo period. This is a painting by a person named Hiroshige Utagawa. As you walk along the river, you will see ships passing by that look like they are from the near future. I would also like to enjoy the cruise today.

Go up the stairs and buy a ticket at the office. Buy tickets for your favorite course from the vending machine. There is no need to worry as there will be a guide. Today we will take a short course around Asakusa. Board the Urban Launch boat at 11:25 minutes.

This is a 30 minute course around Asakusa. It’s empty so we recommend seeing the city from the boat. Yes, since it’s a retro trip, I’ll be riding this cute old-fashioned little boat. I left. Asakusa area course costs 1,200 yen. I was a little surprised at how wide and big the Sumida River is.

Although the scenery is different, I imagine that it was a means of transportation for common people in the past. The area along the Sumida River is a famous spot for cherry blossoms, which were first planted in the Edo period.

Did people in Edo also enjoy walking along the river during the cherry blossom season? Make a U-turn around here. The weather is nice and the Sky Tree can be seen clearly. You can see Yurikamome nearby around the ship. Yurikamome is a migratory bird that migrates to Japan from autumn to spring.

The cute, plump white Yurikamome is tougher than it looks and will eat anything. It was fun to see the Sky Tree and see the downtown area from along the Sumida River. Lastly, this is a special benefit that can only be seen on cruises. The upside-down tree moving to the Asahi Beer building (≧▽≦)

The winter cruise was a bit cold, but the 30 minutes went by in a flash. The weather was nice so it was fun. Now, where shall we go next? For now, let’s go to the tourist information center near the station.

The steam from the steamed buns is tempting. Manju is a sweet that contains red beans. This is a long-established store that was founded in the Edo period. This is a Flower Miffy shop. Asakusa Culture and Tourism Center is right in front of Kaminarimon.

Once inside, there are maps of Asakusa and its surrounding areas in various languages as well as Japanese. There was also a shellfish shop along the way. Let’s go to the second floor as well. You can coordinate your trip in a calm atmosphere.

There are also pamphlets on the second floor, including pamphlets for areas other than Asakusa. There is also a manned information counter in the back, so it is recommended for foreigners. And you can clearly see Kaminarimon from here. There’s also a power source, so I’ll take a short break while charging.

There was a space on the top floor where you could see Asakusa for free. There is a cafe next door so you can take a break. The history of Asakusa was displayed on the 6th floor. Here, the history of Asakusa that has continued since the Edo period is explained in an easy-to-understand manner.

The inside of the hotel is very calm and you can get away from the hustle and bustle outside. It was a space that could be enjoyed not only by foreigners but also by Japanese people. First, I will visit Sensoji Temple. Cute Gajapon. When you insert a coin, a cute miniature will appear.

I’ll take a short detour before visiting the shrine. This is Kimuraya Ningyoyaki. This is a steamed bun shop. This is a long-established shop right in front of the temple, which was founded in the first year of the Meiji era and has been around for over 100 years.

It’s really delicious, so be sure to try it freshly baked. After your visit, head to the back on your right to receive your goshuin. This is the goshuin notebook I bought when I went to Todaiji Temple in Nara last year. The Japanese-style relaxing spot inside Sensoji Temple is also a highlight.

Next time, I’m going to try the very delicious matcha ice cream. The location is just behind Sensoji Temple. You will see a green signboard in the direction of the Sky Tree. Today I came here to try out the world’s darkest matcha gelato. There are many other temptations besides matcha gelato.

You can also choose the strength of the matcha gelato. I’ll definitely use No. 7 here, which is the darkest. Suzukien is a long-established tea shop with a history of over 150 years. No. 7 uses special tea leaves, and apparently uses the highest quality matcha. Look at this glossy dark green.

Is it really bitter? That’s what I thought, but that wasn’t the case at all. It has an elegant sweet tea leaf aroma and a strong taste. However, it was not overwhelming and was very delicious. By the way, the eat-in space was on the second floor. Please try it.

The town is still decorated with New Year’s kadomatsu. I found some interesting shops along the way! You can see the tile splitting platform over there. Why not try breaking tiles? Head towards the hotel while looking sideways along the Nishi-sando road.

This place is called Poppy Street and is a place where you can enjoy delicious drinks and food. There are many people happily drinking at public bars during the day. I want to drink too, but I have somewhere I want to go after this so I’ll hold off.

As you walk around Asakusa, you’ll make some surprising discoveries. Japanese etiquette is also written below this couple’s raccoon dog. You can check the rules of Japan without being sarcastic with the Edo period painting style. Just like Hollywood handprints, there are also Taito Ward star handprints. We arrived at the gate hotel.

The hotel is in a good location as it is very close to Kaminarimon. I would like to check in now. The lobby is on the 13th floor. This four-star hotel has a reputation for being new, clean, and with a great view. The lobby has a sense of freedom and feels great!

The front desk is on the right, and the restaurant is in front. And from here you can see a wonderful view of Tokyo. Of course, you can also see the Sky Tree. There are now auspicious decorations for the New Year.

The rice cake is a bronze mirror, the orange is a jade, and the dried persimmon on a skewer is a sword, each of which are used to represent the three sacred treasures. Kagami-mochi has been considered an offering to the gods since ancient times.

The decorative mizuhiki symbolizes the desire to cherish the connections between people and live happily. Now let’s go on a room tour. The door is open. This is a very large and bright room. I’m alone today, but I’m in a twin room. A sofa that you can rest your feet on. big tv.

There is a mirror in front of the spacious desk. There is a power supply next to it to make it easier to work. Two Nespresso coffees and water. There is also an air purifier. The bed is moderately hard and has smooth sheets. These soft gauze-like pajamas are separate types.

This indoor wear just felt so good. This is what the outside view looks like. Next is the closet. There are also enough hangers and slippers. Finally, there’s the bathroom. It’s compact but easy to use and clean. The toilet has a washlet. All amenity sets were provided and bath salts were also provided.

The shower is a rain shower and a hand shower. Japanese people soak in the bathtub every day. There was also shampoo, conditioner and body soap in the deep bathtub. And the hand towels are regular, fluffy waffle material-like towels. The amenity set is also one of the attractions.

I’m glad I have a turban to tie my hair up. In addition to the complete set, there was also a small hand cream. Take this home with you and use it as a carry-on item when you go abroad! It was so cozy that I took a nap for about an hour…and it

Was already evening. I went to a soba restaurant that I had been curious about after seeing it on YouTube. Nagaura Soba is close to the hotel. Perhaps because it was evening, there were only two groups waiting in front of me. It’s cold outside, so I’d like to have some warm soba, but

I’m going to try Unsui soba, which I’ve always wanted to try. Unsui soba has arrived. amazing! It’s like looking from above the clouds. Please enjoy it with plenty of soup. Feel free to give it a try. The fineness of the grated yam and radish.

The noodles are thin, but have the chewy texture that I like. At the end, I added some soba hot water and finished the meal♪ Asakusa has a big festival called Sanja Matsuri. I would like to come and see a festival where there are many mikoshi (portable shrines) someday.

I came to Sensoji Temple at night. There are fewer people and you can take photos more slowly. It’s also lit up, so this is a great time to take photos. Go to the retro Kamiya bar. Unfortunately it’s closing time. I’ll have fun next time.

I wanted to eat nostalgic Western food and drink beer. I went to a convenience store and bought some snacks and alcohol. Before that, take a bath using the bath salts that were in the amenity set. It felt refreshing. However, these pajamas are very comfortable.

I bought a Toris highball today. Whiskey, soda, and lemon. Delicious after a bath. Snacks are cucumber, cabbage, and chicken breast salad. And this is coleslaw. I’m concerned about calories. Both are good snacks after a meal. I bought these at a convenience store.

Japan has a variety of convenience stores such as 7-Eleven, Lawson, and Family Mart. Next we drink the house wine. They also sold cups with ice. I bought it at Lawson today. Lawson’s homemade lunch boxes are delicious. The next appetizer is salami and cheese. The third one is chuhai. The base is shochu.

This is freshly squeezed grapefruit. I feel like I can drink as much as I want. Doesn’t it look delicious just by looking at it? I brought snacks from home. You can buy this at the supermarket, and it contains rice crackers called kakinotane and peanuts.

I came to the terrace to see the night view. Wow, nice mapping. You can also see the Sky Tree at night. The night view of Tokyo is really beautiful. The rooftop was very empty. The illumination of Sky Tree is beautiful. The illumination of this Sky Tree changes color.

I’ve never been up there yet, so I’d like to go someday. You can see Sensoji Temple illuminated clearly from the terrace. The Gate Hotel is close to Kaminarimon, and the night view is really beautiful, so I highly recommend it. Highly recommended for couples.

Good morning! Winter is cold, but I’m happy because there are many sunny days. I think I’ll go out for breakfast right away. Before that, I will visit Sensoji Temple. It’s a cold but pleasant morning. I recommend going first thing in the morning as there are fewer people. A large lantern will welcome you.

The carved wooden dragon at the bottom is said to be the god of water who brings rain, and is meant to prevent fires. And the second large lantern. The history of Sensoji Temple goes back over 1300 years. It seems to have started in the Asuka period (628).

On the left side, you can see a beautiful five-storied pagoda rising against the blue sky. The large straw sandals are also a highlight. It is 4.5m long and weighs 500kg. It is said that when the demons see this big waraji of King Nin, they will be surprised and leave. The visit is over.

Now, I would like to go to a coffee shop for breakfast. Around 8:30 a.m., a few people started coming out. My recommendation for a morning walk in Asakusa is the picture drawn on this shutter. Each store has a different picture painted on its shutter before it opens.

There was a ninja on top of this kimono shop. There is a long-established coffee shop nearby. Royal was founded in 1962. I would like to go in right away. It’s a popular pure cafe, and there are often lines of people lining up during the day.

The atmosphere has a Showa-era royal feel, but the customers are mostly elderly and locals. The morning set is 760 yen. Serve the ham and egg mayonnaise on top of the toast ! The set also includes salad, yogurt, and a drink.

The reason why I like Jun Cafe’s breakfast is that I can enjoy the same atmosphere as the locals who live here. By the way, in front of me was a cute old man who had been going to this store for decades. Breakfast of delicious bread and coffee. Thank you for the meal.

Pass through the shopping street and return to Asakusa Station on the Ginza Line. How was your walk in Asakusa this time? And thank you again for watching this video until the end. See you again in the next video.
