The Frauenkirche might be Dresden’s most significant landmark. In 1945, it was severely damaged during the Allied air raids that took place on February 13 and 14, remaining a ruin long after the Second World War ended. After German reunification, it was rebuilt and has since become a symbol for reconciliation. Many of the donations used for its reconstruction came from countries that had been invaded by Nazi Germany.
