Carnival confusion in Germany: Is it Karneval, Fasching or Fastnacht?

Hey where’s your costume it’s Carnival season isn’t it it’s time to party oh my God Miss tourist you did not just say this we’re in Berlin hardly anyone dresses up for this and by the way here it’s called fashing huh why fashing I thought it’s Carnival you want to

Celebrate Carnival H then you have to go to dor or cologne to the reinland they have huge Street parties and almost everybody is dressed up in costumes sounds so fun I want to be there but what is fashing fashing is celebrated in Bavaria and in Eastern Germany like here

In Berlin with smaller parties but not as big as in the reinland oh okay guess what there’s even a third variation what yep in Southwestern Germany it’s called fast it has a more serious tone and creepy characters all right so where am I supposed to go now hey wi Berlin it’s

Party every day

  1. Fastnacht, Fassenacht, Fasenet, Karneval, Fasching … All is o.k., and all means joy and fun, happiness, get-together, cohesion, and everyone is welcome! In the region where I live it's Fasching, we say "Helau"! Frankfort – Helau!
