No trip to Cameron Highlands is complete without a trip to the tea plantations. This is one of the main attraction that’s got to be on your “must see” list. The plantations have got scenic views of the mountains for you to enjoy. You can visit the factories to learn about the tea making process and you can also sit down and enjoy a cup of tea at the café.

Cameron Highlands’ tea plantations make 60% of all the tea for Malaysia. The area was named after, and founded by, Sir William Cameron, originally from Britain, in the 1800s. It is now the home of two main tea plantations: BOH and Cameron Valley Tea. The plantation grounds resemble those of rice paddy fields you find in Southeast Asia. Both of the plantations have acres of rolling hills filled with a variety of tea plants on a beautiful tiered-style garden. They cover 712 square kilometers of land (275 square miles).
