Stonehenge & Southampton: World Heritage and Departure Site of the Titanic | Travel Vlog in Europe

Hello everyone! On this day, we hit day 6 of our cruise on the MSC Euribia. We visited the famous Stonehenge in England and the port city of Southampton We dropped by the Titanic museum, and enjoyed some authentic Fish & Chips. We’d be thrilled if you all enjoyed this video.

Please watch it till the end. We rented a car from Southampton and made it to Stonehenge. It was about an hour’s drive. It’s about a 20-minute walk from the ticket booth. There are shuttle buses, but we decided to walk there. European winters often trouble you with the weather,

But we were pretty lucky with the weather on this cruise trip〜. Finally, the stones came into view in the distance. Here, we had our tickets checked and entered the site. Oh, there they are! There they are! Wow, it’s crowded! Stonehenge is a famous historical site in England,

Known globally for its massive circular stone formation. It’s believed to have been built between 2500 BC and 1600 BC, but the exact purpose and methods of its construction remain unknown. The transportation and arrangement of the stones were quite advanced for the time. The exact purpose of Stonehenge is unknown,

But there are many theories. Commonly suggested purposes include tracking the sun and moon, seasonal changes, religious rituals, astronomical observations, and a burial site, among others. However, the exact use remains a mystery, and continues to be debated by researchers and archaeologists. Our next target destination for our car trip was the other side of the port! We wanted to get a view of the cruise ship from afar. Marc, thanks for driving today! Turned out to be a great cruise trip〜. We got a little hungry, so let’s go have some Fish & Chips. Ta-da!

I was imagining something like chicken nuggets, but they were so big…! Still, we enjoyed them thoroughly. Next up, we visited the Titanic museum. This museum houses exhibits on the history and sinking of the Titanic, introducing the story of the ship to the public. So, what exactly happened to the Titanic?

Let’s reflect on the accident as we go through the museum. The Titanic was completed in 1912. Operated by the British White Star Line, it was known as the largest and most luxurious passenger ship of its time. The Titanic was about 269 meters long (MSC Euribia is 331m),

Designed to accommodate up to 2,224 passengers and crew. On April 10, 1912, the ship left Southampton, heading for New York. It burned 7,000 tons of coal to move, with ample food, water, flowers, and tobacco to entertain passengers during the long journey.

However, at midnight on April 14, during its maiden voyage, it collided with an iceberg. The ship sank from the bow, and about three hours later, on the 15th, the bow and stern broke apart and sank. Many passengers and crew members perished in the accident, with over 1,500 lives lost.

The cause of the accident was primarily attributed to a lack of caution in avoiding the iceberg and maintaining speed. However, there are various theories, including a coal fire or navigational errors, and the details of the accident remain unclear. The seagulls running around are so cute〜. Oh, there was also a squirrel.

I hadn’t seen one in Japan, but they’re quite common in the West, aren’t they〜! After this, we visited a Christmas market and some other spots, but unfortunately, it was a little too dark to film… Our journey in Southampton ends here. Did you enjoy this video?
