Today we need to talk about something very important we already we driving across the three Italian provinces in our live stream we were talking about renting the car we were talking about paying parking ticket and today we’re going to talk about speeding tickets you know we always try to share

As much information about living in Italy as we can so for you guys we got a a speeding ticket just to show you what the process is especially especially for you guys for you um want to tell them when why couple days ago we got an email that uh we need to talk

About something very important and Urgent with our rental uh agency we normally rent with Jad J in uh Scala and we like um working with them and so when I got the email it frightened me because the translation uh program made it sound like uh there was a massive

Investigation about something we did it was kind of hard to imagine what we did cuz we didn’t do anything um so we finally connected with our our friend at chod and uh he told us we got a speeding ticket on Christmas day of all days um

That was the day that Merry Christmas to us yeah Merry Christmas that was the day we were driving to tropea and it it was practically empty there Road was empty I can’t even imagine how it happened well we were stuck behind a really slow car for a very long way from

Uh just outside of Scala I guess till close to fuscaldo and finally there was an opening for me to pass and I did and that was about it as AR I can tell you I drive really slow yeah it’s that time the person was really slow in front of

Us so I imagine when we were speeding up he probably thought H tourists they don’t know that there is a surveillance the whole time just that little piece that’s why they were so slow well it’s not just that little piece that’s the thing that I’ve noticed this trip was

There were a lot more warnings signs of uh video uh tracking of for Speed um there’s always a couple and this time they were everywhere and in fact Google Maps kept warning us that there was a speed camera ahead so I was going really slow and like I said about the only time

I went anywhere near over the speed limit was passing the the Slowpoke and um so that was uh that was it like I say Merry Christmas um so what to do um I have heard stories online from people who have heard from their rental car company a couple months after their trip that

They have to pay a speeding ticket and they’re kind of left to their own devices to deal with um the process which usually involves the post office the police department and who knows who else uh to get it paid and when you’re back home in America or wherever you are

That’s not Italy it’s a pain um lucky for us um our friend said I paid it you know he sent me the all he sent me all the paperwork so I knew that I got a ticket where I got the ticket I he paid them and sent me the receipts and

Um I just paid him online the only thing he sent us a link so so we could pay yeah they sent I sent us a link to the rental site so luckily that was easy yeah so uh the main thing to take away from this is if you’re especially if you’re going south

From Scala do not speed especially near towns um there is just a whole lot more video surveillance going on uh than there used to be I think every town has decided uh buying one of these cameras is a good investment to raise money and um well you you know especially if

You’re renting a car and you’re not here for much more than a month or so you’re not going to find out about it till you get back home and uh if your rental car agency isn’t uh helpful you can end up having to deal with the uh the system

The the justice system in in Italy which um is can can be tricky and from what I gather if you don’t pay them on time the fines go up so whole months of YouTube earning went just to pay one speeding ticket but we do it for you we love you guys and we
