Winter Road Trip eastern Nebraska

Good morning from Nebraska we had an overnight snow and a bit of it melted so a lot of it is driving on Ice which is not fun you get anxious people behind you that think you should go 55 when it’s really more like 35 or

40 and then of course you can play slip and slide it’s 21° right now and it is going to warm up enough to clear this off but it’ll be a slow go for the next 50 miles actually this road was the better of the two I could have taken another

Road just south of here toward a town called Bruno but they said that was completely covered and bridges are always working wor because of the concrete ice is more than the pavement and then I have to look out cuz I have the dog I’m getting ack the dog goes

Wherever happily I dressed accordingly I’ve got my winter pants on insulated and then my boots so if God forbid anything happens I’m not going to be out of trouble plus I have a full tank of Gas I mean it’s not bitterly cold 21 you can get by with a jacket and gloves so that’s the morning drive in Nebraska for those of you in Florida I saw this morning in CMI it was like 75 and Sunny and I thought yeah

Yeah I know I can move there get a job with Disney World or something well I wish you a good morning safe driving good afternoon I’m doing a winter wonderland walking it snowed last night about 3 to 5 inches we are at checkland lake which is there in or near pra

Nebraska it’s about 60 miles west of Omaha it’s a beautiful area great for walks a little bit of hiking there’s no real mountains it’s just Rolling Hills but puppy and I are out here off the beaten path quite beautiful with the Snowfall it’s about 28 degrees right now it’s going to warm up the way the forecast looks for the coming months to Spring this may be the last snowfall we’ll get [Applause] for I thought it would be nice to share a video with you of walking here I love nature I love

Hiking in Georgia I used to hike Appalachia I didn’t hike the whole Trail but I did hike and I loved the peacefulness and the natural beauty of our planet which unfortunately a lot of it is being damaged or destroyed people can’t help themselves but be selfish and stupid when it comes to

Nature like walking up to a buffalo at Yellowstone or trying to get a closeup of a grizzly bear and its Cubs I think they should have a ban and just say leave nature alone or what is it don’t touch is for is who needs a drone I’ve got two legs and two working

Feet take it in for yourself with your own eyes and your own senses not somebody with their video camera and their drone flying over it feel the snow crushing under your feet taking the pine smell feel the Cool Wind and then the sun warming your face I’d say that’s pretty

Awesome use the ous ha I hope you enjoyed the video afternoon walk at checkland Lake in Nebraska you can fish here you can ice fish or you can fish during the spring summer and fall they have largemouth bass and perch there are requirements perch is 10 in large mouth bass

15 and each of the these stalls you can power up your camper with 30 amp I don’t know if they have 50 amp service I’m sure you can find out if you’re really curious and a lot of really beautiful views with picnic tables and grills so

Spring summer and fall it would be a treat to come here and camp out for a few days you got a burn pit a grill and then picnic tables pull in power up put the awning out although I don’t have my camper anymore if you’re into camping this is a terrific stop in

Nebraska uh there is a gas station with some grocery items about a mile away but any major shopping or anything is more than half hour to get to I Do

It was a dangerous drive. I didn’t know how bad the roads were until I got further north; it’s a fifty-five mile drive to Fremont. I decided to stay on it, because the main highway would, most likely, be plowed. Thank God and our plow drivers, it was clear. Then, I took a hike at Czechland Lake–if you’re in Nebraska, this is a great camp site place both tent and camper with 30 amp, out door cooking, fire pits, and brilliant views. Plan ahead!
