UNTERWASSER: El PARAÍSO de los TRINEOS en SUIZA ❄️

Today we’re sledding from Unterwasser in eastern Switzerland this time we went sledding with 4 more friends three of them I went to Albania with which I recommend you check out the playlist I’m leaving you here Let’s get started welcome to another episode of Travel and Gardening

Located between the Säntis massif to the west and the 7 peaks of Churfirsten the resort towns of Alt St. Johann Unterwasser and Wildhaus are among the highest municipalities in Toggenburg the largest winter sports area in eastern Switzerland just an hour from the airport and Zurich the Wildhaus tourist complexes

Unterwasser and Alt St. Johann do everything possible to make their guests both young and old feel comfortable and happy just an hour from the airport and Zurich you will find the largest winter sports station in eastern Switzerland with 17 chairlifts and cable cars that will facilitate the ascent

To the varied ski and snowboard area up to a height of 2262m above sea level there you will find more than 60km of slopes waiting to be explored An especially memorable experience is skiing at Sellamatt under the full moon And if you’re looking to relax off the slopes you can also enjoy 50km

Winter hiking trails conditioned and signposted as well as 42km of beautifully designed cross-country ski trails You can also savour the peace and wonders of nature on a snowshoe walk through the snow-covered winter landscape And if even this seems too energetic for you you can sit down and be pampered

In one of the cosy restaurants I’ll show you this same landscape but in summer so you can see everything it has to offer But now we are in winter And it’s time we get started with the sled Normally the run is long and has two stages

From Stofeli to Iltios, and from Iltios to Unterwasser but the first stage was closed to the public that day So we only did from Iltios to Unterwasser But to get to Iltios you have to take a funicular The Unterwasser-Iltios funicular Called Iltiosbahn was built in 1934 The funicular tracks are 1195m long

And start at 911m above sea level below Früeweid in Unterwasser The height at the Iltios mountain station is 1339m above sea level The Iltios van has two cars with a capacity for 100 people each After this funicular adventure we arrived at Iltios And rented the sleds to start going down the track

We started off very excited, the 5 of us but the track was half frozen because there was no fresh snow so it was quite dangerous Unfortunately one of my friends shortly after starting not only fell two or three times but we lost his sled

But this did not prevent us from having an incredible day so I’m going to show you not only the sled track but all the fantastic views we had from there From Iltios to Unterwasser the traditional sled run in the canton of St. Gallen runs down slopes and pastures

Passing farms until it reaches the valley The route is normally easy and suitable for both beginners and experienced sledders And offers a magnificent view of the surrounding peaks of the Alps Leave the mountain station on the left And follow the sloping sled run towards Unterwasser Good footwear and helmet are recommended

How to get there is very simple Both by car and public transport And all the details you will find them in the description of this video Where to park? at the funicular station In Unterwasser there is enough space to park Sled tickets cost 42 CHF

And allow you to take the funicular that goes up from Unterwasser to Iltios as many times as you want Renting a sled costs you 17 CHF And they are super comfortable sleds After some sled adventures which included taking wrong routes it was time to eat something

And we did it at Restaurant Iltios which is next to the funicular station In summer, this restaurant has a large terrace with capacity for 300 people And they serve traditional food Inside the restaurant there is capacity for 70 people 30 of which have direct views of Säntis and Obertoggenburg

¿CÓMO LLEGAR?

Desde el área metropolitana de Zurich y Suiza central:
Por la A3 cerca de Reichenburg en dirección Rapperswil y luego por Rickenpass hasta Wattwil. Luego subir por Toggenburg hasta Unterwasser.

Desde el este de Suiza: desde St. Gallen hasta Herisau y más allá del Wasserfluh hasta Lichtenstein. O conduzca desde St. Gallen hasta Wil y tome la salida Toggenburg. Siga la carretera principal hacia Unterwasser.

Desde el sur de Alemania: por Bregenz y St. Margrethen por la A13 hacia Haag y tomar la salida en dirección Toggenburg/Wildhaus. O vía Konstanz hasta Wil, luego tomar la salida Toggenburg y seguir la carretera principal hacia Unterwasser.

En tren hasta la estación de Nesslau Neu St. Johann y luego en autobús hasta Unterwasser Dorf.

Desde el valle del Rin tomar el tren hasta la estación de Buchs SG y luego tomar el autobús hasta Unterwasser Dorf.
