4 Countries, 1 Day, Europe In A Van | Full Time Motorhome Living

Oh my God is that what I think it is I’m not sure that’s let me ask bits of the Berlin Wall isn’t It good morning good morning and welcome to Belgium we are only about I believe 20 km if that away from the Lux border so our challenge for today is to try and get to see four countries three fingers four countries so we’re seeing four countries in one day so we’re

Starting off here this is Belgium and then the plan is to cut into Luxembourg we got a couple of things we want to see in Luxembourg then cut across into Germany and finish the day up in France So it seems we cross the border without realizing it I was expecting some big sign or a big something not I was at least expecting a sign anyway welcome to Luxembourg Hey dude hi dude cattle Highland cattle Highland cattle in Luxembourg oh this place is incredible thing Ever Luxemburg is a bit special isn’t it isn’t it what a beautiful country I mean as we drove through is quite incredible the the houses just changed didn’t they the inent we got across the border and they were bright colors again and the road was smoothly Ted yeah and tidy what a clean

Country but what we’ve done there we’ve stopped off at a I don’t know what you call this they call it a recreation park but I think there’s a bit of a short hike P some really beautiful stuff and like a waterfall and all we’ll see we’ll see

We got the we got the boys with us today with their coats hopefully it’s still only one degree yeah it’s still very cold but this is supposed to be quite an easy one today so hopefully the boys will or particularly Sebastian will do with this hopefully if not we’ll have to have

Fun trying to carry him back we didn’t actually say where we are did we do we actually know where we are no we’re in Luxenberg somewhere in Lux north of Luxembourg City Town the capital somewhere we’ll put it in the the somewhere we we’ll put it somewhere

There’s a bridge here what do you Reon about can you do the bridge hey careful cuz it looks skiddy up there we go oh Yeah hey are you quite I’m not going to show you but we’ve been here 2 hours already and all we’ve done is Bart’s been having a clear out by the looks of things all right yeah it looks have you finished now yeah well I don’t know the feet aren’t quite together yet

Tail’s not down Bart Ms anyway River’s lovely River’s Lovely I presume we just uh Follow the Arrow nothing but blue skies a totally peaceful never a you get the very so down there is a a bridge that seems to go across into what whatever this thing is seems to be some kind of secret bunker base that goes under the the hill Mountain up there cuz there there cuz

There were steps that went up there and it looks like there’s a cave in that rock is there yep we’ll have to check that out on the way back we going to do that on the way back Yeah So we’ve come to a bit of a a thing I think if it’s was just the two of us we’ go I’m not so sure I could probably carry B over but not that one but it does see how said that does seem to be another path that runs kind

Of here and then up and there’s like a a bridge kind of thing over the waterfall but this location is absolutely stunning stunning the first of the week yeah that’s your first one you’re doing quite well it’s beautiful it’s picturesque it is it’s lovely can you imagine this in the summer

Oh oh we’ll have to come back in the summer I think when we uh yeah yeah we’re going to have to fit Luxembourg in again this place is amazing we’re still at this area with this all these stunning waterfalls but the the stepping stone thing back

Down here is missing one and there’s no way we’ll get the dogs over there and then then the other route darling is up that which is I don’t know if this coming out on camera but that is so thick with mud we’ll never get them up there sickly Sebastian

However didn’t this is possible head back down to that bridge that we saw the one it’s got a tunnel that goes underneath steps under and there’s a foot paath that runs up the side of the road to here maybe what do you reckon you want to do this yeah it looks Frozen

So I don’t think it’s going to be as bad as we’re thinking we got a slight change of plan we we’re going to give this a shot Allison is right I’ve just tested it it is quite well Frozen so I’ll give it a go with Seb if we can get up with

Comes down through we got to cross over this lovely Bridge that’s the stupid path we just came up and we’re heading up these stairs darling more stairs come on oh man this is a bit special it’s beautiful love bridge I don’t think you can see it

From here we have to go down and go down and see it we got the big waterfall here and then it’s really cute looks like it’s made out of logs down the side Bridge that is beautiful slowly good boy this is like a little fairy Grotto this is lovely look at that

Bridge that is just ridiculously beautiful and then all this oh my word darling this is just it’s beautiful it is like a little fairy grter yeah look at that oh look they’re like little snails look at the stones here oh my words and initials carved in it this

Thing I’m going to sound bad here we said was it Bela we said that little Grotto was the prettiest thing we’ve ever seen in nature yeah you’ve changed your mind now you think this is this is this is just again just stepped it up even further

This is a whole new lead this is really lovely right how we going to go down to the water truck cuz we have just realized there’s a staircase that leads all the way down to the water Trum I’m coming hang on yeah I think you’re doing

The wise thing keep the dogs to the left left come on when we woke up this morning or when I came up with the idea let’s see if we can do a video where we go across all four countries yeah didn’t expect that no I

Just picked a random dot on the map that seemed popular I can kind of see why yeah oh darling this is what we wanted it is it’s clearly been here a very long while yeah look at the brick work yeah the brick work and the walls over there

And that’s holding the road up just above it there only in places and that bridge actually when you look at the bottom of this bridge just here that doesn’t look like that’s resting on a great deal of anything not anymore no oh I think what we’re going to do is spend

5 10 minutes here enjoy the scene we enjoy the place and then I think we’re going to checking out definitely walk back yeah we’re going to walk back high the road like you want like 24 247 like 24 24 Heaven oh like you want

About 2 2 and 1 half km that was all but that was tough going it was difficult to rain and I think that really pushed him to the end of his limits his for noral dogs it would be fine but it’s a lot of steps and his back end is just not

Strong enough anymore right so uh now I think what we got to do is clean ourselves off get salted then I think we got about 4minute Drive where we’re heading over to I was going to point in a direction I’m actually not sure which way we’re facing now I haven’t got a

Clue some Direction here heading towards the German border I think that’s the Plan we’re in Germany they don’t make a big song and dance of this do they no so we’re officially in country three of today yes inde one more to go yeah however we do want to get back into Luxembourg to see a a little town in Luxembourg but to ger side yeah welcome

To Germany could imagine being German and living in these houses here and you look out out your window over at people that what is a person from Luxembourg called Luxemburg luxemburger I don’t know German looking at your window at luxemburger on the other side well view could be a lot

Worse it is very lovely and this River just twists around and it’s gorgeous yeah Softly so having had that conversation about what you call a person from Luxembourg I’ve just asked Google and Google says they are indeed luxembourgers luxembourgers luxemb Burgers love it right so Google says go straight

On but we going to go across back into Luxembourg and drive down the Luxembourg side now I think welome back to Luxembourg darl yeah back in Luxembourg something smells ni nice yeah oh dude I love this city uh City Country it’s really pretty oh isn’t it

Just let’s go and have a look at the river yeah yeah okay go and do that first then so we’ve uh stopped in the town of rimik Ric not sh pronounce it again we’ll put it bottom of the screen here well there’s a sign there with it ah

Lenburg I mean the the plan for today was just a simple one to go out and have a look around but this has shocked me I didn’t realize what it was like but so here is Luxembourg and there’s Germany there’s a German person uh not necessarily could be a

British person in Germany could be a luxemburger having walked across across the bridge and walked along the river that side true yes it’s it’s going to be the source of constant amusing for at least a little while their luxemb burgers one more stop then the last country you ready wagon trains roll yeah

Let’s go we’re at the next stop oh and um yeah the reason um we’ve come here is really Allison’s staring at the cars but the reason we come here is really quite simple because I saw this on the map when we were looking at doing this trip today I saw well

Shenen and I did wonder if the uh the name of the town had anything to do with the shenen zone that us Brits and Europeans will know all about for those that don’t shenan only simply a an agreement amongst all the European countries which Britain’s no longer part of giving their citizens

Free travel around the Zone mhm and you looked it up I did and it is it is indeed this is the home of the shingan agreement now something I got to show you because this is quite cool so where Alison is stood is Luxembourg that’s Germany and I believe that is

France this is actually really busy it’s very busy I didn’t think the center of Europe would be this busy it’s not actually the center of Europe though is it no no no no this is the center of uh I read it back there it says something about this being the center of European

Community or something European economic Community maybe I don’t know one of the European things versus you read somewhere that one of the more Eastern European is like Croatia or Hungary well there’s about six or seven different places that claim to be the center of Europe depending on

Whether you use you’re all demoted this for today is the center of Europe I was just wondering which flag post used to be Ours oh my God is that what I think is I’m not sure that’s let me Askin wall isn’t it all knowing Oracle oh my Lord so it is it yes Google says yes those are parts of the Berlin Wall wow I didn’t know these were here me

Germany here’s a German Town this is the German Town of pearl yeah to explain I just literally again just went look we’ll pop and see here it it seems quite pretty but I think we’re going to end up doing something really quite special in this German Town what

Driving straight through going to the supermarket and getting some food for tonight oh this is cool though yeah there you go I stopped for a second where are we again Pearl Pearl Pearl in Germany it’s very quiet and everything’s shut mhm although I do suppose it’s got very late in the

Day the architecture seems to have completely changed again and as you saw from uh from the the we showed you the roads sign a little while ago it was only a kilometer into Germany at that point yeah and this is the first town you hit when you get into

Germany I don’t know why but you see the wrting on the side of this building that bit Burger yeah to me there’s just quintessential German writing yeah I don’t know why no I know what you mean yeah when you see the the beer gardens and things they have

That kind of writing it always looks like there the rooms are so different special I mean it’s all this really very dark almost black tiles and it’s not just that it’s all of the buildings around here oh my word do you remember what the one comment or the one dream I had that

Started this whole crazy thought of moving yes it had roof tiles like that so it might be worth mentioning this before the thought of getting in a motor home or van and tour in the world came about we we had a bit of a a situation

Happened where I had a weird dream where we moved to a little house by the river with a pitch black tiled roof that’s that’s a little larger than the one that’s in your dream no no it was very small and very that was made in 173 that’s very very big and very impressive

But beautiful it’s the first time I’ve seen tiles or a shade of roof that matches my dream I love the way they’ve done them they’re almost like fish scales they come down at an angle and then they curve to go along the side of the little Dormer

Windows it’s so pretty it’s so quiet it is is this this is the this is the Barack Garden as they call it what makes it a barck garden it’s uh style yeah it just makes me think of a really sassy black maincoon cat called Barack called Barack ah from

Uh you might have caught Barack in the do video when we were up in Dom yeah and uh we stopped off for the yeah the overly expensive crepes in the crepery oh but he was worth it he was worth the price of the crpes yeah I do

Love me a Main [ __ ] 5 year for the Crepes and 10 year for particular in the Main [ __ ] indeed PIR of wild Cammer do you think that’s wild camping yeah it could be cmer as in kind of sleep probably not probably not church bells church bells but not from this one

Or the other one they sounded a bit more distant didn’t they yeah cuz this is a tiny I believe this is a tiny little uh looks quite small village town what have you spotted well if you look across there it’s not actually that tiny unless that’s not part of pearl as well oh

Across there there’s loads of buildings over there quite a long way away and to be fair there were three supermarkets so yeah something else substantially bigger than we thought however we still they’ve got one more country to get to that’s a nice little Fountain to see us off well in Germany

Yeah okay well with that in mind then bet it doesn’t work it looks a bit bye-bye Germany so are we going to make it before uh before the sun sets I doubt it cuz it’s already setting yeah it’s getting close but not far what does it say 6 minutes yeah so

We’re obviously not intended to be far into France then not tonight no is it actually beside the Mosel you said it was beside a river yeah it probably is cool I didn’t even think of that but yes we should be sleeping next to the Big River

Should yeah I’m not going to talk it up because today’s gone surprisingly well for us surprisingly well oh my God rotisserie chickens on the roads side they were rotisserie chickens you want a rotisserie chicken yeah right yes I do right sorry guys we’ve got to turn around rotisserie chicken should never

$140 which is a little bit more expensive than we’re used to paying but well considering even in the the restaurant The Chicken Shack back near where we live is for half a oh no half a chicken and chips isn’t it9 but we pay 10 roughly for a whole chicken and um

Some sliced potatoes from merad Y and it did look like quite a small chicken so it’s obviously a little bit more expensive here but it smelled nice they looked good sharp right onto and it saves using can’t be too far up here how has that suddenly gone from 8 minutes to 4

Campsite yes it’s not quite wow we look close at the rear end yeah but that’s what the camera is for yeah but it’s not quite what I thought it was going to be I thought that was going to be the river just here it is it looked like it on the map map
