From Munich you can visit Garmisch-Partenkirchen on a Bayern Ticket and the best part is that you can also use Zugspitze Bahn free of cost upto Grainau. In Grainau you can hike up to foothills of the Eastern side of Germany’s highest Mountain, Zugspitze.

Hiking at Grainau, Garmisch-Partenkirchen is highly recommended.
