Travel Shots (Live) Bodrum, Turkey- 18th Century Windmills
Hey I’m in bodam turkey and I’m at the windmills the Bodrum famous windmills that were made back in the 18th century by the Greeks who actually were brought over to this uh Turkish Island well it’s not really an island it’s a peninsula they were brought over here to make these windmills to process
Grains for the Ottoman Empire and these windmills are still here today the only thing missing are some of the tops and the actual spinny things but it might surprise us maybe we’ll see something with a spinny thing I don’t know what they call them but as you can see I’m
Going to give you some of the views you will it would just blow you away okay let’s look behind me now there’s the Bay of gbit I believe it’s called down this way I literally walked up a hill but it wasn’t too bad it was like literally

In Bodrum I’d have to say Bodrum is way Chiller there’s less tourists or I’m here in the winter months in February and uh there’s no big loud parties so if you’re not a partyer like I’m not real big on the bar scene if you’re not into that this is the place for
You everything’s within walking distance the grocery store it’s a bit of a challenge though you have a bum knee or a hip I don’t know if you could do these Hills but if you’re in relatively good shape I mean you can break along the way
And sit down on the side I mean it’s really easy I mean as you hear Mee huffing and puffing but look at this view this is from this side the Castle’s straight in front of you unbelievable but hey we came here for the windmills so let’s do this so these
Are from the 18th century is what I read online let’s start with this one in the back oh my gosh the views are breathtaking around here if you you seeing what I’m seeing I mean I just I can’t believe it it’s currently uh 61° fah that’s why I got a jacket on cuz
It’s cold to me there is a breeze makes it feel a couple degrees cooler wow this is too cool okay nice construction ooh the breeze my goodness this wow oh my gosh well there’s one with a little top to it all right what do we got going on
Here I don’t know it’s just a dark ho the sad part about this is the trash but you know I don’t know if you can hear me from the wind doesn’t matter where you go people leave trash everywhere it’s a sad shame beautiful as this country is and here’s the one Bay my

And they just trash the place and that’s a shame look at the inside of this again trash inside real cool right I here Birds it’s pretty neat though Look it’s even got Little Steps huh and they said they use these Ms to process grains for the people I’m going to tell you

Just the birds they said when I read online it says that they use these wom oh my God I can’t even get over these rocks I’m not even going to try this let’s go back out this way I know my limitations but they used these windmills up to
1970 believe it or not so I guess between the last what last 50 years they fell apart from neglect maybe this is the one they used till 1950 cuz that one looks like it’s in better shape to me you can drive out there to the end
I’m going to try to I’m going to try to take a walk out there too oh my gosh this is so gorgeous unbelievable if you’re a history buff like me I love history I love architecture and history and just observing how things are made and how they strategically put it on a
Hill like why didn’t they put it down there doesn’t that make you wonder why did they put this up here probably I mean I don’t know anything about processing grains maybe you guys do drop me a comment if you know about how to make grains the old fashion way
Maybe it stunk I don’t know maybe when they were processing the grains it actually stunk so that’s why they put them on the hill is my guiss imagine how many gr were processed and just one Silo I guess this is a silo I mean I I
Call it a silo sort of shaped like one but I mean of course I call it a windmill look at the view can even see houses way up on that mountain oh gosh so quiet oh not so windy on this side okay let’s keep going I guess you get the picture so do
I I want to get near that newer one so I’m going to walk out this way now what I heard or read online is you can come up here before Sunset the sun actually sets right over these mountains and it’s a killer view up here
But I get a pretty killer view from my uh from the porch my patio porch at my hotel I can watch the sun go down over the mountains and that’s a future video to come I’m going to show you where I’m staying oh my gosh this is spectacular absolutely breathtaking
So if you’re watching this put in the comments have you ever been to Bodum turkey I have this is my first time some people walking around see there’s a holiday in if you want to stay at a holiday in right on this out on this Bay that’s crazy what a view I bet
That’s expensive man like I said this is the off season right now so I got pretty good deal when you’re traveling on a budget like me you got to keep things on the low load cuz I’m like I’m not a tourist I’m a slow traveler what that means is I’m living
On the road I’m not just a tourist just checking things out and going home and we actually on the road this so that’s why away from the wind oh wow this one’s actually got a door still look at thiss whoa look at that that’s the grinder it
Still has the grinder so that’s how the other ones look like evidently yeah this one looks fairly new they probably use this one on up to 1950 I’ll bet you this is the best one this one’s in the best shap to use this last cuz when you look at these you can tell
They’re on they’re out of commission probably a long time before 1950 or 1970 okay guys how do we get out of here we got to get back up this way see I think people just like horses or monkeys out here I haven’t seen them but

Like Turkish Riviera kind of thing like a a touristy spot for people from tur you know Turkey but it’s sort of weird cuz you do have to use your Google Translate app to actually sort of get your point across cross cuz they do things really different that’s another story from but

I can use up my 90 days like consecutively in the shangan zone if you don’t know what that’s about look it up it’s like when you’re in the shangan zone you get 90 days in and the European countries and then you have to go out for 90 days and the only countries that
Are non Shan and then just a handful of the uh Eastern European countries like arania Serbia Montenegro the Balkan countries they’re not in the shanen zone which I’m not going to give it away but I’ll be heading in that area in a about a week and a half guys
