    And here I am in detention again I got to be careful that I don’t sound too positive about this my ask your name I Josh today we are flying the infamous Russian build suho superjet who had a very troubled past including two faithful crashes that took a huge hit on

    Its reputation but now with heavy International sanctions and no way for Russia to buy Western Jets the suai jet is becoming the backbone of the country’s Aviation sector so I took a trip on the plane from SOI all the way to Istanbul to show you what it’s like to fly the Russian manufactured

    Plane guys a beautiful good morning from Saji famously known for hosting the Winter Olympics in 2014 in a very popular tourist destination within Russia but today we are flying the Russian manufactured in build bu and designed suai superjet from sajji all the way to Istanbul on Ria which I

    Personally think is the best airline in Russia so let’s do this and let’s go to Turkey ladies and gentlemen so a lot of you guys been asking Josh what is it like traveling Russia during the suctions how bad is it which companies are still here so after traveling Russia

    For a week I can tell you that most of the companies are still here and if they aren’t like Burger King for instance is one of them KFC and if they aren’t here anymore then they’re still here under a different name for instance McDonald’s a lot of like clothing uh companies as

    Well they just changed their names but it’s like still pretty much available the only real hassle like traveling uh Russia where the sanctions really bite is the fact that you can’t use your car card um for any transaction so you have to bring a lot of cash into the country

    Which is a little bit annoying but you can also still book flights um through trip.com just by using a Turkish IP address uh so if you sort this out beforehand because that’s the most expensive thing uh then you kind of okay and you you you get along here it hasn’t

    Been as bad as I thought it was going to be with 7 million annual passengers siji is rushing fifth busiest airport right after the major Moscow airports and St Petersburg it’s also one of the last remaining airports to offer di flights to Europe operated by a Serbia to Belgrade hello how are

    You uh say again isul yes all right beautifula thank you P thank you so guys I’m all checked in for my Ria superjet flyed to Istanbul um that was the easy part the worrying part is now going to immigration um if you watched part one of my Russian Aviation

    Series you probably noticed that I was hold at immigration for 3 hours for like further interrogation and with a lot of people trying to escape the mobilization and being from an unfriendly country exiting Russia could also be a problem so let’s see how that goes so guys and here I am in detention

    Again no I’m at the business class Lounge which does look like a World War II bunker but um no it was an absolute Bliss going to immigration I was an immigration officer she was probably my age she was very lovely very kind so kind of restored um faith in Russian

    Immigration again but as I said in the first video I can totally understand their measures it’s a country of at War so they got to be cautious they got to be careful however now since I cleared immigration it’s time to focus on the one and only suai

    Superjet Ria is the largest operator of the suo superjet with 78 in active service at the moment they were all previously oper ated by air flood but after the 2019 crash the airline decided to sell them now they are operating mostly domestically but also on a few international flights such as Istanbul

    The flight ticket cost me around $350 in business class fun fact Ria also the world’s largest 747-400 operator now let’s get on board and see what they’re all about so guys and here we are welcome on board the infamous suho superjet um to estanbul I’ve flown on the superjet

    Twice before in the past two days and to be honest I love um so let’s see how this experience is going to sum up so the one thing that I didn’t like about this seat is which I experienced on my previous two flights there’s like no power outlets no USB slots so there’s

    No way like to actually charge your personal devices um and uh yeah in 2023 uh I think that’s a given but uh no idea why that is and there’s also no inflight entertainment other than the inflight magazine some water yes thank you so first call of action a welcome

    Drink from Big Fu which is very lovely and on my two previous fights as well um what stood out for me was the crew amazing um very uh hard working very friendly as well and uh yeah so far so good hi my name is and my colleag Alisa nice

    This because on my recent video when I featured the comac 919 the Chinese manufactured plane there were a lot of people in the comment comments in the comments especially from the West who belittle efforts of other nations to set a foot in the aviation industry uh to join the market call it

    Unsafe call it hilarious to just make fun of it and at where I don’t see it that way right I feel like China has every right and so has Russia to build airplanes and I think the sua is a very competitive jet from my experience from a customer

    Experience um and so is the comac so I don’t think there’s anything wrong about them uh trying to uh join the airplane manufacturer field and I don’t have to remind you guys of the story of the 7 7 max which just shows that a company in the efforts of making prophets killed

    Literally 300 plus innocent people a story from the West a western built plane so I think sometimes it’s good to cheer for others as well you know um good examples to moonlanding in uh when was it 1969 as the whole world was cheering for America and for that accomplishment so

    And when I see India’s effort to landed the moon and he did successfully and then I see the fun and the jokes some people make of their tremendous achievement it hurts and I think sometimes especially those social media Warriors we should just respect the effort of other nations as well well

    To do exactly what we do so there’s nothing wrong about this and I do love my trip on the comic I do love my trip on a suho and uh overall it’s great to see other nations step up and uh there will there’s more to come you know I’m

    Sure India will eventually join the race as well uh in the uh civil aviation sector and uh yeah we should respect each other and we should always of course be competitive and we can crack a joke here and there where we shouldn’t belittle other nation’s efforts to uh achieve greater

    Goals with that being said very much looking forward to have this cup of Coffee so and this is a very special review on the suo superjet um considering the size of the plane it’s actually pretty spacious it’s clean it’s nice it’s lovely it’s Alo I mean there’s few little details uh that are different to Western Jets but I mean

    Generally Alo is a l enough but yeah clean compact approved I’m you flying back now again to SOI yeah yeah unfortunately so I was just doing a Russia tour like for 5 days doing some videos on uh on the Russian Airlines at the moment because I do only airline videos right really yeah

    So Russia is very interesting at the moment right with the sanctions and uh yeah now I’m going to South America and then finish go home no more flying thank you byebye byebye such lovely crew on this flight love the suo superjet and before I’m going to summarize my Russia adventure

    And the thoughts that I have that I really want to share with you guys let’s clear migration so and here I am at the yotel hotel yotel hotel it sounds cool which is located between landside and airide of the new Eble airport tomorrow are flying to Madrid from Madrid to Bolivia from

    Openening to travel Russia to see what it’s like during the difficult circumstances um and I mean I’ve been to countries that aren’t as favorable scen in most I’ve been to Iran I’ve been to uh uh uh the US that illegally invaded Iraq you know nobody ever says hey Josh

    Politics aside see The Human Side of every trip and that’s what I did that’s why I went to Russia to Showcase you what the situation is right now in this country what the aviation sector looks like and uh as an aviation journalist a story teller that’s my job that’s what I

    Do and you build your own opinion and I don’t want to build an opinion without without without having been there I am still very supportive of the Ukrainian course my grand grandmother is from Ukraine but facts don’t really care about your feelings and I have to be

    Unbiased and I have to go there and have to do in a world where everybody said fake news fake news fake news I go there and I show you what the reality is and you build your own opinion and that’s my job and I had some beautiful human

    Encounters which reminded me again how important is to not dehumanize Russians not all of them are supporting The Invasion not all of them want war in fact I haven’t met anybody who wants it you know of course I’ve seen people walk around with a hat on and a big uh Z and

    All that stuff that’s part of it that’s reality but generally the conversations I had with Russians they are um sad about this and I think this is why we probably are in situations like this because we barely have this human exchange anymore where we go go and

    Travel where we get to know each other and if we get to know each other we start to like each other and then we won’t kill each other you know if we only in the on the internet on Twitter I think Twitter is one of the worst

    Platforms in the world that is um the main that that’s the arena of the culture war that is happening without people ever been to each other’s country or ever spoken to somebody from a from a different uh uh culture religion uh whatever and that’s why I don’t

    Browse these websites and since I uh spend less time on social media and spend more time uh meeting people the world is just becoming a much more beautiful place and I think this is my words to end this I appreciate you guys coming along on this very interesting

      Russia is doing very well. Even with all the sanctions. Russia economy has grown from 2 to 6%
      Russia is now the 4th best economy in the world. This was the last world economic information. Stay away from Western media. Russia doesn't suffer from the sanctions but growth even more bigger!

      Iโ€™ve really enjoyed your Russia series. Itโ€™s never been an area Iโ€™ve been interested in visiting but as your videos show, donโ€™t class an entire country with the shame that its leader is bringing on the world. There are clearly some great people in the country and we all hope there is a day in the near future where this terrible period is over and the nice parts of the world can be explored again.

      I totally agree with you regarding your comments about some people donโ€™t want to appreciate products/services of non-western countries. What we need is affordable, reliable and quality products/services. Competition is important for the consumers and China, Russia and some other non-western countries doing exactly that. You are one of the people who publicly say this and I approach at it very much.

      Josh, this sounded like an ad for the Russian aviation. As for China and Russia – they have a long history of children slavery and stealing western technology with no repercussions, so forgive us for not cheering for them

      It hurts when people of other countries belittle a nation's efforts. Hurts a lot more when countrymen do the same with their our country and the arguments are rarely technical or logical.       Well said Josh. Respect other cultures and the people who live in them. Politics is one thing thing of course, but people are people, and no normal person would wish a war. I have been fortunate to travel the world extensively in my 68 years on this earth, and always, always respect the culture and the people who's country I'm visiting. The so called warriors on X and other social media platforms are ignorant of anything outside of their own very little and boring world and seem to think they know it all and spew their horrible rhetoric to others. Sadly, other follow which makes this small world we live in, not a very nice place in 2024 sadly. Please keep up the great work you do, and truly hope some of your words of wisdom make the warriors think that maybe they should get a life.

      (9:33) That's right every nation has right to build its own planes. But usually, it implies using a lot of parts manufactured in other countries. As for Superjet-100, I used to work at the factory that makes them until 2014, and here's what I can tell about it.
      Superjet's airframe is said to be Russian-designed and manufactured, but there are speculations that the design may have been "borrowed" from "Fairchild Dornier 728" (uncompleted German project). The rest of Superjet almost completely consists of foreign parts: interior, systems, engines… So it's quite disputable to what extent it is a Russian airplane, as well as how well the Sukhoi Civil Aircraft company will adapt to the absence of foreign parts under the current sanctions.

      Josh I'm glad to hear the comments about those of us in the West belittling other countries. Both China and Russia have the right to manufacture airplanes and for anyone to suggest otherwise is absurd. It's often the rule that those who wouldn't know the first thing about a topic are the first to open their mouths and criticize. Politics is one thing but the people themselves are another. It's time for more maturity and discernment online.

      LOL – China ofc has "every right" to join the aircraft manufacturing industry. Until you know they "lost" an Airbus manufactured in China for over a month "somewhere".
      Don't you be so racist and think they took it apart, studying it as well as they could. And come on – even if, it's out of pure interest. Never would they copy, much less if international copyright law prohibits it.
      Though one has to admit russia didn't really do this, at least not to that degree. Well, of course until they attacked Ukraine, sanctions hit, they stol hundreds of aircraft, illegally re-registered them and so on. But I guess that will only influence the next incarnation of the Sukhoi/Yak SSJ.
      (it's also a bit worrying how much the russian InfoOps jumps at this video. Well, of course they do)
      Edit: this comment has zero relevance to e.g. the Indian landing on the moon – that was remarkable and awesome. And they even did it without leaving a multi-ton bullet on trajectory wherever it may go.
