The Old Place to MEET WOMEN in SOFIA

I’m always wary always be wary highly unrecombined Now little gem here I’m telling you fantastic little hotel super reasonably priced everything you could need the rooms are super comfortable but most of all and the most important the staff is absolutely incredible super kind smiley faces and that’s one of the drawbacks sometimes traveling around here from the

First moment you check into the hotel you got a miserable face and there’s nothing worse I can’t recommend it better Hotel Lea today guys we’re heading to the market let’s go guys we’re heading to the jenski Bazar also known as the woman’s market and the closest Landmark to there that I could

Recommend to you is the Lions Bridge now you’ll notice whenever you walk around sofhia that there are lions scattered everywhere it’s a symbol of Bulgaria their currency is called the Lev which actually translates as lion many people say that the outline of the country is

In the shape of a lion so just some trivial facts for you here about Bulgaria and why you might see Lions everywhere you go guys another thing I love about Bulgaria nonstop they’re everywhere doesn’t matter what time of day you might need certain things sopia or Bulgarian General has got you covered

And I love this and all these I mean all the retail spaces are taken the more I travel the more I notice that everywhere I go there’s so many places for rent businesses are closing down but here you see all the retail spots are just still

Open running the mom and pop stores and the only thing I can say is that probably the reason is because Amazon and the likes have still not hit Bulgaria and I tell you what I really appreciate it so if you visit these countries go to the local little shops

And help the local economy you’re not helping a multinational you’re actually helping a family but literally store after store is you know occupied and business keeps going love That First things first I need me a breakfast and you know when I’m in Bulgaria all I ever want for breakfast is Ban and in Sophia they have a very specific type sopis ban ah londe We’re going to have the uh traditional bza which goes with classic Bulgarian Bulgarian Turkish style Bulgarian classic Turkish style huh where are you from England London London yeah oh City where are you from my friend from Sophia of course ah lovely city yeah of course breakfast0 thank you very much so guys

That set me back two BR cost me about BZ 250 can’t beat that I’ll just carry this to the table and then show you what it’s all about so guys first things first the typical bz this is actually a drink made of wheat to me it tastes just

Like watered down weed AIX with sugar wheat thex in a drink this guys served in your traditional paper makes no sense whatsoever as you can see just layers and layers and layers of puff pastry and will Bulgaria as far as I’m concerned they make the best puff pastry it’s

Known as btio and it’s just full of feta cheese or C guys if you make it to sopia to this Market find this Alleyway because that’s a real McCoy this is the real sopia Baner look how thin this is I’ll talk into this we’ll keep going very much my friend that was fantastic

Excellent B all the best thanks now guys definitely check this out but as we walked in here I noticed something else that I really wanted to try so if you get to come down this Alleyway right here take a look right here they sell makitaza let’s get

One Mak so this is uh like a unique Bulgarian doughnut now there are places that sell them with all sorts of toppings but this one right here is I guess more traditional they had one option with sugar or without so I decided to go with sugar

Makita that is so good guys so light similar doughnut they have in Morocco called singe or the churas they sell in southern Spain which is the same influence this is absolutely amazing guys you kill two birds with one stone have your Banister in there and your dessert right there gorgeous I’m stuffed

Guys that was phenomenal but as I was saying before I met my friend there if you’re in a city for a short time and you really want to immerse yourself into a culture there’s nothing like finding a local market now this one is phenomenal because not only is it a great Market it

Also has a lot of history dates back from the end of the 19th century right after the ottoman rule the reason why they call it the jensy Bazar or the woman’s market now there’s two Tales first one is that back in the day in the late 19th century early 20th

Century families would bring their daughters that are of marital age in the hopes of meeting an eligible bachelor so that was one of the reasons why they called it theeni Bazar the other one is that basically this place was ran by women not so uh romantic of a story but I can believe

That good music no alcohol zero alcohol friendly guys I like their music so he said it was gypsy music tun Bulgaria the guy’s walking around with VI Baby whaty turns out he’s got a baby in Spain by the sounds of it you got love hgar I tell you guys I AB absolutely love the markets the smell the vibe reminds me of growing up and working in the markets and obviously shopping in markets too good morning Eng just to show you how friendly and how approachable they are this stuff just looks amazing all this pickled stuff right there you’ve got the pickle cabbage leaves which are the best for making your stuffed cabbage known as in Russian as galup absolutely love the stuff good morning let’s see what this guy

Sells look at these little onions I guess they must be for for pickling these are tiny little onions not sure what you do with them very nice though and there’s po ladies got a few Hello three for for one left yeah three Bunches of spring onions for one left that’s about 50 cents thank you that’s really not bad guys it’s not all lost for Bulgaria yet they’ve still got decent prices and this always fascinates me the way they put meat in the window this is vegan

Free shop where you got these uh pig feet that must have been a really big pig I’m assuming that would have been a smaller Pig really amazing now the reason why I like to head to the markets and anybody traveling for a short period of time I

Would say if you’re going to a place from one day to 4 days 5 days and you really want to get an idea of the local culture the foods the vibe even the Traditions find yourself a market because you right away get the City Vibe

You get to see what the people eat what they like what they cook and you really get to immerse yourself almost immediately into the culture which is something that’s not always easy to achieve when traveling this stuff really looks good I mean this is not Supermarket quality you can see from a

Mile that this is not Supermarket quality I’m looking behind me because I’m wearing a rock sack I kind of felt like someone pulled on it so I’m always wary always be wary about your stuff especially when in a market your cash your wallet front pocket of your

Trousers or jeans that way if anybody goes for it there’s no way you’re going to mistake that the other thing jacket pocket see here my jackets they all have zippers and just zip them up and just be safe that’s all because in some of these countries they’re really good at uh

Distracting you and kind of getting your things so make sure how are you buddy make sure you play it safe be smart and walk with confidence when you’re in a place like this a lot of people at times might say what are you doing here why

Are you in my territory what are you at what are you playing at and it’s very important to walk with confidence as if you own the place because often times people think you do but look at this look at this quality absolutely unbelievable quality this is not Supermarket this is better than

Supermarket did you grow this the peppers yeah yes they look amazing yes they’re sweet peppers right look at these Tom are those Bulgarian Tomatoes all of this is Bulgarian stuff look at this guys can I show look at this this is absolutely phenomenal look at these Peppers you could stuff these

And make it’s a vlog yeah it’s a vlog you speak good English yeah let me guess the bananas are not from Bulgaria eador yeah but this is this isgan natural Bulgarian is a sour cabbage sour cabbage it’s good for Rolling the meat yes yes I love this

Stuff and rice meat and rice rice and yeah rice and meat yeah exactly like stuffed cabbage what is your name Anton are you from from sopia I’m fromer where is that it’s near okay between sopia and so you grow that there and then you bring it here yeah very

Nice all homegrown guys and I tell you what the prices compared to organic food back home I look at that a kilo of homegrown Peppers two lesev that’s about a Euro or a dollar uh from England oh from uh a kilo of tomatoes look at these

Not only are they beautiful but I’ve had these before they’re sweet whole kilo two leses mandarins are not local but still reasonably priced a kilo of beautiful mandarins and they do look nice 75 cents and Dill copper copper copper now I’m telling you guys this is a serious Bunch this is not

This is like what I usually would buy maybe five times as much one left uh parsley similar big bunch let me show you I mean this is ridiculous one left carrots one L I mean this is all like 50 cents so there are still places where hello young lady there are still

Places where deals can be had and I promise you even in Bulgaria in the supermarkets you’re paying a lot more than that and Don thank you very much my friend all the best what a nice guy keeping on guys now a lot of you comment when I walk around the market saying oh

You walk around you look around you taste everything but you don’t buy anything well you got understand guys when I’m making a movie I don’t show everything and to start buying mandarines bananas tomatoes cucumbers and carrying them around wouldn’t be very smart so usually what I’ll do I’ll

Make the film and if I need anything I’ll go back to the pleasant ones and if they’ve got what I need and the quality is there then I’ll do my shopping at the end so as I’m not shapping a camera and a bunch of stuff so for all of you out

There that might comment saying ah you uh you just walk around the markets and get free stuff well that’s not the case but I appreciate the comments anyway keep it going now guys I’ve been off YouTube for a while now because I had I was going through a recovery basically

This is going to be one of my first videos after a while so please I’m going to ask you and I don’t usually do this like the video share it because I really need YouTube to boost this video because usually when you take a break and I

Really didn’t want to you know to get the thing started it’s it’s like a a an old machine that needs oiling and you can help me do that by hitting the like and sharing this video I’m watching it till the end so I really really appreciate that so guys if you like

Cooking as much as I do these pots are absolutely phenomenal for stewing how are you my friend perfect handmade handmade of course this typical from Bulgaria happy tears happy tears yeah and then this but it’s okay to it’s okay to cook with yeah F oven inside in the

Oven all good yes you have more inside no yes come on here then show me your shop I have two shops this shop and my shops my lady shop typical dresses wow guys I love this shop I love this kind of stuff CS for coffee or vodka your choice vodka is better than

The guys got really nice anyway what a cool guy this gii Mr Italia got two nice shops here in the market if you ever come check him out remember the prices that are listed are not the prices always negotiate the prices but it’s right there on the corner really worth

Worth a visit guys love this kind of place so unexpected it says restaurant droan no idea what kind of restaurant would be in this kind of place but it seems like something I’d want to discover my God how old is this excuse me restaurant no closed I guess the restaurant’s closed

Which uh not such a bad thing actually I don’t think I would have eaten here anyways but there is a restaurant there highly unrecombined it and remember guys enjoy your Journey

  1. I've heard you a couple of times now refering to Banitsa being made from puff pastry, but it's not. It's from pastry sheets. They don't fluff and the whole preparing process is very different than what is made with fluff pastry – бутерка (butter-ka). Everyone can make a butterka, but I assure you making a proper Banitsa is much, much more difficult. It's a benchmark in rating a woman! 😃
