Explore Taiwan – 2 week itinerary
Just off the Southeastern coast of Shiner and surrounded by the vast expanse of the Pacific Ocean Li the country Taiwan from its buzzling food markets to its tranquil temples the Vivid Landscapes and Majestic Mountains this island nation offers a tapestry of experience that will leave you in awe so join me as we uncover its beauty let’s explore Taiwan welcome to taipe the capital of Taiwan and starting point of my two weeks vacation here to explore the beautiful landscape starting here in
Taipan surroundings then heading east to the taroko National Park uh then going to shishang in the South and then heading to to the Sun Moon Lake at the end um I arrived yesterday so first full day today and my plan is to explore the Beast Trails which supposed to give you
Super amazing view over the city especially from the elephant mountains the weather is not that great but maybe then it’s also less crowded so let’s check it Out First Peak Elephant Mountain As always in Asian countries the hiking trails have a lot of stairs almost only stairs which I think is or always a little bit harder to hike um but as you can see that didn’t lie the view is really amazing I think I made it not to the top just look at This so I just finishing up the hike and randomly found an amazing Temple look at this just on the street San fantik Temple I think if I pronounce It okay today I’m going to go to vula a small village in the south of tape um vula is actually called hot spring water and as you could guess it’s famous for hot spring but also waterfalls uh takes around 90 minutes to get there with a train and then with a
Bus so let’s Go so arrived in July um a bit rainy but it fits also the scenery I think you look at the clouds looks quite cool um so my plan now is to go to a waterfall nearby and then probably also walk around a little here in the nature and then later
On I will try to find the um hot spring to just relax and yeah let’s see what else I can find Here so there was a cable car actually which takes you up the uh waterfall and now I’m here in a small village in the mountain and nobody’s here it’s quite spooky but also kind of Cool Okay another day another hike uh I went to the Yang mishan national park today one of nine uh national parks in Taiwan but the closest one to taipe it only took me an hour from taipe main station to get here and goal of today is to climb the cre sing
Mountain uh I’m sure pronounced it wrong uh 1,100 meter let got that Asian countries and their beloved stairs it’s all stairs I don’t like Stairs I have to say um I think it’s not a long hike I’m already at 1.6 km of 2.4 but it’s super steep I mean the video really doesn’t show it but and there’s like no rest it always goes up like this so definitely do good Workout so I reached the top finally and as you can See amazing view um I saw some other Trails on the way so I might check them out but the weather is really sucky today so I don’t know the volcanic group that you see before you [Applause] Okay going down now after um roughly 15 kilm and now of course the Sun starts to shine I can really see it but maybe I should have got later but oh well okay I will head now to hen the closest city to the terapon National
Park which I will explore in the next 3 days train takes 2 hours see you There Okay really early in the morning 6 am I don’t know what it is with me and getting up early on my vacation but um yeah I’m going to head to the taroko national park now apparently there’s also shuttle bus going straight from Huen which I’ll try to catch
Now and then I want to do several hikes but for most of the hikes you apparently need a permit which you have to apply up front which I didn’t do anyway there’s still a a lot of other things other tracks and other sites you can see there the challenge is that
They’re quite fast spread along this National Park so let’s see how many sides I can see today um the rest I will do tomorrow let’s go there okay so I arrived at the too National Park In the End was quite easy I just took the bus 310 and it took
Me right to the start to the entrance point a few trails are actually uh close due to a typhoon which was here a few weeks ago so let’s just see what’s possible but even like 4 minutes into the hike and look already at this View there’s also a little Temple up there PR cool so already good Start [Applause] Okay so apparently the Shaka dantra wasn’t closed in the end so I could go all the way to the end which I reached and now I’m heading back I think was around 6 km so not that far but I have to walk it back now but uh pretty easy
Not really uh High a sense or anything but the view was pretty I mean the the river super beautiful with the blue water and the mountains around it so I definitely can recommend and I think the rest of the sides like the tunnel of nine turns and jiko Cave I probably do
Tomorrow so day two in the TCO National Park um I actually booked a two today because there are so many sites I still want to see and they’re all at different places and to go there by public bus just takes forever also really I don’t know when they are coming the buses it’s
A little bit chaotic so I think it’s just a smart way to ensure to see everything so let’s [Applause] go Okay I’m leaving Jan now with at the too National Park and head down south to the little village called shishang which is an hour away from here um with a train and what’s so special about this little village is that there’s supposed to be a beautiful Road for cycling with the
Mountains in the back and around you the rice petties so I want to check this out best time to go there is actually in April or October now it’s November so let’s see if it’s still worth It So I just arrived in shishang uh shcked in and the hostel also had a bicycle uh which I rented and now I’m just cruising through the landscape here perfect brother let’s enjoy the Scenery [Applause] Oh okay I’m leaving Xiang now and heading to the Sun Moon Lake which is actually on the other side of the island and originally I thought I can just take the train down south but apparently you have to switch like three times so I rather take the direct train and then go to
Over the north um I will have a sleepover in Taun cuz otherwise uh yeah I cannot make it to the Sun Moon Lake and tomorrow morning I try to catch the earliest bus from tun to San Moon Legs all right I arrived at the Sun Moon Lake um beautiful weather super sunny and warm also tomorrow I think so ideal to explore um this beautiful Lake here uh we grab a coffee now and then probably do one hike still today um to a mountain peak where you
Have a beautiful view over the lake and then tomorrow I’ll probably grab a bicycle and just go one time around the lake that’s the plan let’s Go For All right so today I’m going to ride the bicycle and go all the way around the lake um takes around 5 hours but I will stop on the other side at the sien par which is like this little temple on the mountain um which looks super nice
Already from here here so let’s check it Out so much Fun Okay cycling now to the pagura and it’s really going up steep but at least the weather is super [Applause] amazing Oh Okay uh I’m back in taipe uh came back yesterday from the Sun Moon Lake uh had a great night out here uh doing Sumer cart games then heading amazing Zushi then went to uh Jess bar and then the end to a club so it was a lot of fun and
Today I’m going to head back to Germany uh but in the evening so I sa the whole day and I want to check out a small village up north called Chen so let’s go There Okay I’m at the airport now heading back to Germany uh beautiful trip here in Taiwan hiking cycling throughout the nature in taipe Tero National Park shishang or the Sun Moon Lake um a few things I missed out though alishan for instance and a few more challenging hikes where I would need Pro uh
Permission but it’s always good to have another reason to come back and with that my beautiful trip to Taiwan ends Goodbye
