I LEAVE to CHILE Before I’m Trapped in ARGENTINA!
The border is open 24 hours so just going to get across today rather than potentially being stuck several days I’m traveling the length of the Americas in a tuk tuk with a dog and after three long weeks of waiting for documentation we’ve finally been cleared to cross the chili
Together weather reports are saying to wait a few more days but we’re itching to get back out on the road what a day what a day we got Patti Torii the Tuk Tuk behind us we’re just getting in this bad
Boy because we’re going to go to Mendoza to sort the vaccinations the Visas and I don’t have to drive so I’m going passenger princess with Patti cuz we’re going to stay the night
So these guys are saving me from a 9h hour round trip in the Tuk Tuk by us going with them in the car the Visa I received the last time I was at the Chilean Embassy in Mendoza was for a
72-hour entrance so I’m headed back to the city to finalize mine and Patti’s documents along with withdrawing cash and getting it swapped to Chile and pesos which is the currency of our next country I also want to treat them to dinner to say thanks for everything yeah
Attempt one at a Western Union Bank I thought tell me you’re in a City without telling me you’re in a city there’s money well there isn’t it’s Argentina we’re going to try in another
Place we just left the bank and we’ve just paid for our Visa so more or less I guess we’ve got the Visa I’m going back to the Consulate of Chile organizing that um then going to take
Patti the vet and then we’re on our way to Chile which is really cool yep it’s kind of like the time I’ve had an Argentina is kind of coming to an end and it’s been like incredible
Um it’s been an amazing experience I can’t can’t wait to come back but I also can’t wait to get on to the next adventure there’s a lot of mystery in a new country and Chile’s going to present
That so I’m looking forward to that as well um it’s just really cool to enjoy all like elements of the of the travel lifestyle so yeah it’s a good time but yeah just so appreciative for everything I’ve learned all the growth I’ve had all the Epic like people I’ve met
The the flavors I’ve tasted yeah it’s been a really good time thank you Argentina we’re about to hit up Chile you guys also wanted to see like more of the cities where I’m at so we’re without the Tuk tuk indefinitely well it’s back at the hostel so couple hundred
Kilometers away from where I am currently at was really really nice of them to to drive me and Patti to get all our errands done here so yeah this is come kind of where we’re at like a Taxi this is like a huge Hotel um yeah the streets are nice I just realized
Like I’m passing where I need to be so that’s the consulate across the road um we’re in like quite a well-off area of Mendoza capital I don’t know why I say it with an accent it’s like I kind
Of can’t not um so the capital of mendoza and because we’re still in Mendoza Province so there like a bit of a difference as well Mendoza Capital Mendoza Province so yeah it’s chill all right back here again I guess a couple videos ago you would have seen I would have just
Here at the Consulate of Chile but now we’re back again fingers crossed we get onto this that’s it that’s the poor man’s lunch so while the the Visa was just being processed the last few things we went to the supermarket in Argentina um it’s similar to to Europe if you’re familiar
With Carefour but we just got the woolworths back in Australia anyway I got some bread and in my back pocket I got the ham and cheese so we’re going to absolutely go hard on that um all up
N bucks plus a couple kitkats cuz I haven’t had Kit Kats in so long so I was like let’s celebrate getting the Chilean Visa there’s an absolute benefit to having the direct personal phone number of the the chief um administrator over there in in the consulate so that’s like
One of the perks of having a Tuk Tuk he was like he came out personally and he was the one that put through my Visa personally and I was calling him on the weekend actually he called me up and was
Like yo when you coming I was like I’m actually going to come to the the capital I’ve already put the Visa through so he processed that a bit faster it was just a real positive experience so
Now we’re we’re off to Chile it’s getting real um yeah going to be a good time my chauffeurs thanks for looking after her she’s happy the Tuk tuk’s behind us it feels like it’s more than it feels like it’s very Sunday um is the direct translation but what we got going is a
Good little flame it’s kind of like a celebration lunch that we’re doing to kind of send me off the plan was to leave tomorrow but potentially I’m leaving today because there’s apparently huge snow storms rolling in that are going to happen tomorrow and I’d hate to like think I’m leaving
Tomorrow to Chile but then for the border to close so I’m kind of under the pump um we probably just going to have a big lunch and then um I reckon I’m going to send it with Patti the border is open 24 hours so just going to get across today rather than potentially
Being stuck several days oh my good mate Guido we’re doing some Chorizo and like some beef it’s all happening I can’t lie I’m like really nervous I didn’t even eat much of the the barbecue lunch we just had like I feel a bit sick so my mate’s taking me out
Yeah so we’ve just had Patti literally jump in I don’t know how she got in but she did she managed it um we’ve got a lot more stuff than before because we’re traveling to Chile which has
A cost of living 60% higher than currently it is in Argentina so we’ve stocked up on nearly 10 kilos rice 20 kilos of dog food um and of course like a bunch of canned food as well so
We probably got two weeks of food in the in the Tuk Tuk um we might be able to send some camping adventures with that that’ll be a good time but um nonetheless it’s just a lot cheaper here so
Even Chileans do it it’s kind of crazy but they do cross the border to go to the shops and then they cross back with like month’s worth of food we’re like 5 minutes off leaving um the the guys are just having a siesta so we’re going to go unfortunately wake him
Oh my goodness we’re on the road Patti who would have thought big Vibes man it’s been a minute it’s been a it’s been a quality 21 days waiting for all the vaccines to become in in effect but
Yeah finally we’re ready to go and I’m just so grateful for all the help from like that family back at the hostel they just looking after Patti and helping me with everything getting all the documents ready and and taking me in giving me a little discounted price at the hostel just to to
Help me out cuz they know what we’re trying to do and just help my Adventures just like yeah they they was saying like by the end of it I’m always family like they they feel like I’m their cousin
That type of thing so that’s really special it means a lot and they were just letting me know like I was in happy tears like back there like I’m just so appreciative but they were letting me know like if anything happens like you’ve always got a space and uh place to come back
To if things go south um just come back home so it’s really nice of them it’s really nice I appreciate the world man [ __ ] why am I upset I think it’s just so many emotions
All right well I’m going to put the camera down and Vibe out enjoy it put some music on we’re about 3 hours to the Border cuz it’s just mad uphills and the Tuk tuk’s already telling me
Like apparently 40 km on the on the flats is our Max Speed um yeah it’s been a minute since we’re going to be driving long distances like usually it’s just to the the corner store and back yeah
That big cloud looming over those mountains up there looks like it it could be snow I don’t know um that’s kind of the reason we’re going cuz apparently that’s just going to accumulate more and more and we definitely want to get over this this hump of mountains of these Patagonia’s
To get into Chile sooner rather than later with that looking like it is look at that yo it’s kind of a good thing we’re getting out of this country man cuz I just went to the fuel station
And there is no fuel so that’s good we got big blue back there um he’s full so we got 20 L and we only need about probably seven or eight to to get to the border so should be a good time
When I’m recording right I’ve got the GoPro right up against the glass so you can’t get any interference with the wind but if I put it here I don’t know how that sounds but I got some hectic
Wind blasting through this left door I even feel like there’s more drag if I was to close the door like you think I’m a yellow bullet but I’m far from it I’m more like a I don’t know like this
Setup with the back doors down it looks like I’m a parachute but um for some reason I feel like there’s less drag less wind interference so you can definitely feel like yeah that afternoon is
What they call Sonda which is like the the wind of this region it even has a name it’s so Infamous as much as I’m glad I’m leaving this afternoon it’s also like oh tomorrow morning could have been
The way to go usually there’s a lot less wind in the mornings than the afternoon but it is what it is yeah oh we’re hitting 30 so that’s about 20 mph just to give a a perspective on it as well
She’s a bit weirded out I think she’s in in a fun little Zone in her mind where it’s like Hmm we’re we’re driving quite a long time Ryan we’re not usually doing this so yeah we’re both just getting used to that travel lifestyle again it’s been a minute since I packed the Tuk
Tuk as well so just stopped off Sun’s almost gone down it’s probably like 6:30 Patti’s hooking into a bit of food and so am I we got the best road trip snack the asado beef that we cooked up and
Some bread buns so it’s a it’s a good time had a bit of bit of Netflix on the front as well this is some good stuff hey I’m loving it I was lowkey wondering why she was still over there having the
Kibble and what do I got I got a bit of meat here you go good sit good girl yes good girl there’s a bit there’s a bit more fat I can give you soon okay hey come here eat the military stops that we’ve passed through haven’t turned us away meaning that the the
Border is still open which is positive and and the sky is absolutely clear day so it’s kind of nice um it’s not too dark yet and hopefully we can still see a bit of the the scenery after
Crossing into Chile see there’s some things that I do that later I then realize that I’m doing them and I really question myself right this is one of those times I think check out what we got going we got the last bit of sunlight going over the the mountains there it is very
Cold we’re at 3,000 M and there’s snow on these mountains I don’t know why I heard the weather report that there was going to be an amber alert is what they kind of call it um saying
Heavy snowfall tonight and I thought hey let’s not get stuck on this side of the Border when we’re trying to get there tomorrow let’s just go today and my plan simply was also I’m not going to book any anything cuz I’m just going to cross the border and find somewhere to Wild
Camp not at all thinking about the weather and I’ve been like oh yeah 5:00 is a good time to decide to leave Drive the three four 5 hours to get to this border me saying I’d love
To see some of the scenery in Chile meanwhile me know I won’t get to to the border before 8 and that’s whether there’s a line or not and how long we take to get through that with it
Being like quite a strict border and then have me come out the other side uh knowing what it looked like a month ago full snow on these mountains and chili 3,000 M and me thinking yeah I’m just
Going to whip out my kids sleeping bag and some tent that was cheap as chips um and and call it a day so we’re nearly there but yeah this is one of those times where I’m like what are we doing with the blanket Patti’s got the blanket too
We’re about to cross border 3 into country 3 of 23 what a day what a day oh cutie goodbye Argentina hello chile anyway if you guys have followed my last vid where I had to leave Patti behind that means
I’m officially in Chile but my vehicle and myself officially aren’t and Patti as well we’ve got to go through the Customs clearance and then we’re we’re free to travel uh 90 days myself in Chile Patty 60 days for some reason we’ve got to get back out of the country before then and then
The vehicle probably 90 days as well we’ll see how that goes So the plan is that we’re going to try to be in Chile less than 60 days and get to Argentina again because we’re on a tight schedule to get to Ushuaia during the summertime because the wind’s going to pick
Up in in Winter and it’s going to have we’re going to have like 5 hour days of sunlight in Winter as well if we’re still there so we got to make the use of our time um and and kind
Of send Chile and send South Argentina through the Patagonia and when I say send it’s still a Tuk Tuk it’s still going to be in high altitude mountains and it’s also my favorite like kind of
Uh I would say biome but environment to travel through so we’re going to take our time but um yeah I can’t tell myself to take my time because and we end up spending 5 months like we did in Bolivia traveling so yeah officially we’re in Chile we’re about to hit up Customs wish
Us luck that’s the promised land ladies and gentlemen that’s the spot where we’re going to find out if we’re going back or we’re staying fingers crossed we get the all good yeah didn’t see many cars on the road but here we are anyway that’s how we’re looking
I was coming up this hill right into the tunnel and I could already see cars I’m like this doesn’t look good this wasn’t how it was last time I think cuz like with it being night there’s a lot less like stations going I’m also going to take the flag down cuz
Last time we crossed through they were like what do you what do you got the flag up for you’re kind of you’re in chile you know so it is a is all good looking pretty an hour and a
Half we’ll see how we go all right till next time hey till next time we’re in Argentina well we’re still here waiting um getting there eventually just chatting with a bunch of chilenos the Spanish is so much more difficult than Spanish in Argentina I’m not ready for it I
Can already tell like yeah some things that go way over my head but we’re getting there nonetheless though he was telling me just like well how beautiful this route is during the the day how dangerous it is especially that I’m driving it at night to be careful and to not
Drive through chile at night just because of robbing and like um yeah like thief’s um it’s apparently becoming really dangerous so it’s like something to watch out for let’s go baby we’re in country number three Chile we’ve arrived Patti’s third country Torii the Tuk
Tuk’s Third Country Patti’s desperate for the bathroom as we’re heading down trying to find a camping spot they’ve recommended me to to lower in altitude where it’s a lot not so cold a lot
Warmer and yeah that was like the most chill it took a while there was just a lot of people but because there was a lot of people that were just kind of in a rush and it was the chillest revision
Of my Tuk Tuk uh I just had the paperwork ready um they just done a check check check and they’ve just sent me right through so once we got to the front of the line it took all of 10 minutes which
Is really cool um until the very end my Zip’s broken right see that um the Zip’s both broken and we had just packed everything away I’m literally about to drive off and some like pedestrian dude
Crossing the border as well he’s just going to try to pet Patti in the back and Patti’s like tried to have a go him obviously cuz it’s like a protective spot and I don’t know the guy and
I’ve I’ve like had like a woah reaction and like had a had a Rous at Patti cuz that’s just like my reaction because it’s like could have been a kid I didn’t even see it and yeah it was right
In front of the guards and everything and they’ve looked at me like yeah right bud you good to get in to Chile yeah and then I’ve just been like all right let’s just get out of here cuz they’d given
Us the all clear at that point we were just ready to to get out of there and then right at the end that kind of gave me a little bit of a a a heart racing moment we’re about to drive the Apparently
Most dangerous Highway at night in Latin America that’s what I got told I don’t know like how legit that is that’s maybe a Chilean bias I don’t know I don’t know how to pronounce it um I saw the photos
Of the daytime and they are an absolute mess it’s just huge drop off so we’ll see how we go it’s time to change this out now that we’re in Chile it’s really exciting um I think that I would be
A lot happier if that just thing didn’t happen right at the end where it just stressed me out cuz I wasn’t ready for it and I think it was just a weird Crossing just so much build up and hype of
Like that it’s a very strict and difficult border I don’t want to comment too much because it’s like I’m grateful for it but they were just like show us your your baggage and they put that through
The scanner and nothing else he sone a torch from the doorway into the back but he checked nothing he didn’t open up the chair didn’t open up the white boxes or look inside the the the green
Boxes that we got or like I showed them that I’ve got some olive oil back here um and that I bought it from the shops I don’t know they were just like this is a trustworthy guy enter our country
So I’m grateful Chile we’re here ready to explore ready to just bring on the new challenges I think the video is not done we’ve got to still find somewhere to sleep um in this freezing climate
Literally like I don’t know how well you can see those lights that group of Lights just behind me that’s how we did the Customs clearance so we literally didn’t even drive 5 minutes I had a
Good feeling I hit up this road and I’m in like a construction ground but I reckon we’re just going to Wild Camp it’s like a construction ground car park lot Patti’s off leash I’m about to put the
Tent in front of Torii the Tuk Tuk cover the big yellow Beast up a little bit set my alarm for like before the sunrise so we can get packed up and it’s like we were never here get a decent
Like six 7 hours sleep I don’t know how much we’re going to get um but call it a night now cuz we kind of had like an early dinner um and I’m definitely not cooking so Patti’s hey Patti
Come Patti come mate she gets in a new country and she’s just like new smells and everything she’s pretty good usually staying like close by but Patti come it’s still a stealth Camp so I’m like I don’t want to yell we literally only have like a fire truck parked behind us I doubt
Anyone’s sleeping in that um but at the same time like I don’t want to be making too much noise um and attracting too much attention cuz I think I’m looking over there is like that looks to be
Yeah she’s the best she’s the best aren’t yeah I think that we’re going to just call it there we did get told yo it’s pretty pretty cold um but I reckon yeah with us with our kids sleeping bag
I’ll Chuck a few more layers on um we can do it so yeah had a good chat with one of the guys at the the border crossing as well and he’s like oh what you’re 23 oh that’s why you can do all this he’s
Like you hit 30 no way in heck you’re doing that so that’s the setup here got the blanket Patti you ready for bed yeah okay well I’ll let get to sleep so that’s the setup so that’s Patti there
And here’s me um in the tent got it all got it going and I don’t know yeah you can’t see but there’s like a silhouette of this mountain that’s just out of this world hey I can’t wait
To see it tomorrow so um yeah that’s us I was going to sleep with patty just for a bit more warmth but just from all the I don’t know man like first of all I need to experience the country myself before kind of making a decision but just from the recommendations
It’s kind of trust the locals until I have time to figure it out and they’re all saying like Chile’s hectic right now it’s really dangerous so it’s like even though we’re like right on the border and it’s like quite a probably touristic area up in the snowy mountains it’s just like I
Got Patti double jacketed and a blanket so she’ll be warm enough um and I’ll be sweet in the tent kids sleeping bag beach tent and I even stole one of Patti’s blankets as well so with the foam mattress we’ll be sweet we’ll call it a day um yeah until tomorrow Legends
With a storm quickly approaching and a country wide fuel shortage occurring, we have to cross to Chile TODAY! Can we make it as a team?

My man I’m so excited for you!! Finally on the road again making some distance! I really hope Chile won’t be as dangerous as the man warned you and you’ll learn to love it there even if only close as much as you do Argentina! Keep up the positive vibes, lots of love
Glad you got through the border with Patti this time. Safe travels

Chilean Spanish is like Scottish English, impossible
Any tips of how you afford your lifestyle? Would be a great video or short
Can you give a shout -out to the couple that you hung with in Argentina? I mean if they have their own channel?

Why did you leave Australia and do you have family in Australia
So you're not vegan anymore?
Dinos cuan inseguro fue tu viaje por Chile. La mayoria de chilenos pensamos que se volvio realmente malo pero quizas no es asi para los visitantes.
