DELTA AIRLINES Business Class | A330-900neo Amsterdam to Salt Lake City (luxury suite!)

Welcome to Amsterdam Airport Schiphol in the Netherlands, the third busiest airport in Europe after London and Paris Schiphol uses a one-terminal concept, with all facilities located under a single roof radiating from the central Schiphol Plaza Delta Business Class passengers can make use of the premium check-in area of Delta’s SkyTeam partner KLM Schiphol is often ranked as one of the world’s best airports

Delta does not have its own lounge at Schiphol but it offers its Business Class passengers acces to the KLM Crown Lounge The lounge is accessed by an escalator, which is flanked by Delftware miniature houses I have previously extensively filmed this lounge in  my video about KLM’s Boeing 787 Dreamliners Business Class

The beautiful lounge is divided into different zones for working, relaxing and dining The lounge features a lovely design, with multi-level platforms offering various places to linger around The lounge is spread over two floors and the upper floor features a stylish bar and an observation deck

Next to the bar is a fine dining restaurant which sadly closed during the pandemic and has not reopened yet This is the Airbus A330neo that will fly us to Salt Lake City (aircraft registration number: N420DX; built in 2022)

The A330neo is a new-generation aircraft, building on the features of the popular A330 and using A350 XWB technology The A330neo (which is also known as A330-900) has a 25% lower fuel burn per seat than previous generation competitors

Delta’s A330neo has 29 Business Class suites, which are located in one cabin in the plane’s front section Each suite has an individual door for privacy and a fully flat-bed seat with direct aisle access

The suites are arranged in a staggered 1-2-1 layout with single suites along the side and paired suites in the middle There are seven rows of four suites each, plus a single seat in the eighth row along the windows

Center suites feature privacy shields which can be raised for complete privacy or lowered for companions traveling together The window seats in the odd numbered rows are closer to the aisle since they have a console on the window side

The window seats in the even numbered rows are closer to the windows since they have their console on the aisle side 6A is my seat for the 10 hour flight to Salt Lake City (I’ll take a detailed tour of the seat right after takeoff)

A welcome drink is offered with a choice of Champagne, orange juice or water Have you ever flown with Delta Air Lines? If so, what was your experience? Leave a comment A welcome video is shown prior to departure

The safety video was recorded at the Overture Center for Arts, an architectural landmark in Madison’s thriving cultural district We’re leaving the gate at 9:15 am (on time departure) Delta’s A330neo is powered by Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engines

Delta is currently the world’s largest A330 operator with 69 airplanes in its fleet (including 27 Airbus A330neos) The A330-300, the first A330 variant, took its maiden flight in 1992 and entered service with Air Inter in January 1994

The global A330 fleet had accumulated more than 60 million flight hours since its entry into service The Airbus A330 is the second most delivered wide-body airliner after the Boeing 777 We’re leaving the coast of the Netherlands behind us

About one third of the Netherlands lies below sea level, with the lowest point being 22 feet (6.7 meters) below sea level Let’s have a detailed look at the Delta Business Class suite The seat is 22.5 inches (57 cm) wide and has a pitch of 80 inches (203 cm)

Each seat features a 18-inch, high resolution touchscreen, which is the largest display offered by any USA airline Below the TV is a footrest which feels a bit tight since it’s located to the side of the seat in front

Next to the seat is a large side table and an open cubby for storing smaller items like a cellphone, wallet and/or glasses A curving grey fixture is attached to the console’s outer wall, holding power plugs as well as a panel for the seat controls

The seat’s side also has another control panel to adjust the bed mode & lighting, which is easier to access in the bed position A tray table (measuring 20 x 10.5 inches or 50 x 27 cm) is stored below the side table and released by pushing on a button

Each seat is equipped with a sliding door for privacy The door is locked open for takeoff and landing, but when shut once in flight, it measures 43.5 inches (110 cm) in height Business Class passengers get an amenity kit that Mexican apparel brand Someone Somewhere created especially for Delta

The kit includes sustainable products such as a bamboo toothbrush and Grown Alchemist lip balm & lotion A noise-cancelling headset is provided Business Class passengers get a “CoZ-z-z” bedding set which includes a soft pillow and lightweight blanket The eco-conscious bedding is made from more than 100 recycled plastic bottles

In 2021, when the bedding was first introduced, Delta was among the first airline to use 100% recycled polyester bedding All Business Class passengers also get a pair of slippers Let’s have a look at the menu: a breakfast will be served right after takeoff and a lunch prior to arrival

A hot towel is offered prior to the breakfast service Aperitif: a glass of apple juice & warm nuts Breakfast is served on one tray, with seasonal fresh fruit and a butter croissant Starter: dilled cured salmon, pickled vegebles, dill aioila Main course: egg omelet, chicken sausage, herb roasted potaties, portabella mushroom, tomato

The desserts are rolled out on a trolley My dessert choice is a lemon tartlet Delta’s A330neo features 2 lavatories for the 29 Business Class passengers, one in the front and one in the aft of the cabin The lavatories are equipped with Grown Alchemist toiletries We’ve started our crossing of the Atlantic Ocean

It’s time for some rest … When the seat is fully reclined, the flat bed measures 80 inches (203 cm) in length Let’s explore Delta’s inflight entertainment, called Delta Studio There’s more than 1,000 hours of onboard entertainment, including a wide selection of movies, TV shows, and podcasts

3D interactive flight maps are available, allowing to follow the flight route in hi-resolution graphics Delta’s A330neos are equipped with onboard WiFi (free messaging is available to all passengers) The best inflight entertainment is found outside the window as the clear weather affords incredible views of Greenland Greenland, the world’s largest island, features vast tundra, high mountains and immense glaciers

Although Greenland is part of the Kingdom of Denmark, its home-rule government is responsible for most domestic affairs The Greenlandic people are primarily Inuit who, depending upon the region they are from, call themselves Kalaallit, Inugguit, or Iit Greenland’s major physical feature is its massive ice sheet, which is second only to Antarctica’s in size

It only takes 50 minutes to fly from Greenland’s east coast to the island’s west coast  A warm chocolate chip cookie is offered mid-flight Salty and sweet snacks are also on display in the galley We’ve reached the North American continent and make landfall near Cape Dyer in Canada’s Qikiqtaaluk Region

Once again, we get some great views as the region is home to Auyuittuq, one of Canada’s most spectacular National Parks Auyuittuq National Park is a remote arctic wilderness with long fiords, steep mountains, ice caps and glaciers

There’s still enough flight time left to watch one of my all-time favorite movies: “Call Me By Your Name” (a true masterpiece) Into The Wild also ranks among my favorites movies: it recounts the true & dramatic story of Christopher McCandless

A lunch is served two hours prior to arrival: a cheeseburger with caramelized onions and mustard aioli The cheeseburger is served with coleslaw and mini pastries We’re treated to some more beautiful views as we fly over the Rocky Mountains (North America’s largest mountain system)

Enjoy the scenery & music as we fly over two of the USA’s most spectacular National Parks: Yellowstone and Grand Teton The captain announces that we’ve started our descent towards Salt Lake City (estimated time of arrival: 12 pm)

Salt Lake City International Airport is a joint military & public airport and by far the busiest airport in the USA State of Utah Salt Lake City International Airport serves as a hub for Delta Delta has nine hubs, with Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta Airport being its largest in terms of total passengers & daily departures

Delta is the USA’s oldest operating airline and the seventh oldest carrier operating worldwide Delta was founded on March 2, 1925, as Huff Daland Dusters, the world’s first aerial crop-dusting company Today, Delta is the world’s 2nd largest airlines by number of passengers carried, passenger-miles flown, and fleet size Delta Air Lines employs over 90,000 global employees

Salt Lake City International Airport serves more than 26 million passengers a year The airport has a strong on-time performance record and consistently ranks among the best airports in the USA Delta has a large Business Class lounge at the airport

Let’s have a look inside the Business Class lounge (called Delta Sky Club), which is one of Delta’s flagship lounges The lounge features a simple layout and offers plenty of seating as well as top-notch facilities A buffet offers a decent selection of cold food & hot dishes

We’re continuing our trip in the American West next week; here’s a spectacular view of the Grand Canyon (from the plane)

  1. Only when I was in the United States in 1994. I flew on Delta's 757 no winglets. One 767 from Atlanta to Orlando. And Orlando back to Atlanta on the rare L1011. Service was okay. I even flew on U.S. Air from LAX to SFO. Memories of long ago.

  2. Interesting choice of movies to watch by someone that has stated his fear of flying overwater. Great video, I look forward to taking one of those flights on Delta to Europe from ATL in the not so distant future, so thanks for the insights.

  3. I've mostly flown Delta. Uneven experiences. First class was quite nice, though, except for the drunk sitting kitty-wampus from me. Aren't they supposed to cut them off at some point? Their feeder fleet leaves much to be desired. Uff! Nice flight video, dear LTE … I see you had a little buddy with you on take-off!! Sweet!! The seat looked comfy, and, I appreciate a privacy door, for sure! Awesome views of the Rockies, and the Grand Canyon! But! I think your flight video from last week was more colorful and pleasing to my eye! 😊 PS: I've not heard of those movies! Til next time, adios, amigo!!

  4. Thanks again Dr. LTE. The view of Greenland in those conditions are absolutely stunning. I´ve had the pleasure to see this by myself a few times flying form Europe across the Atlantic .

  5. Nice video as usual, but I'm stunned that with you being a doctor, you didn't comment on the completely unsanitary seat in bed mode. No bottom sheet or cover of any kind? You can only hope that they sterilized the seats after the last flight. Otherwise, you're sleeping in other people's sweat and body odor. But, now that I know if I ever fly Delta business class, I'll bring a cover over some sort with me in carry-on. It does look like a fantastic product with that caveat.

  6. Nice video. I was unaware that the Neo was 1-2-1 up front. This is great and unexpected news and will allow me to diversify my plane options when traveling.

  7. I have been thinking the Frankfurt airport is the most busy one. But it turned out that it isn't even in top 3 in Europe. Thanks for the info, it's an interesting detail to know

  8. Wonderful aerial tourist trip. Impressive view of Greenland and the Grand Canyon. The plane's silent engine, with excellent on-board service. Thanks for sharing.

  9. 0:11: ✈️ Premium experience at Schiphol Airport including Delta Business Class lounge and Airbus A330neo flight.
17:58: ✈️ Luxurious Business Class Suite on Delta Airbus A330neo flight with innovative features and amenities.

  10. I grew up in Southern California, with a father who could not get enough of the National Park system, of the West. Sequoia, Yellowstone, Yosemite, Gila National Forest, Arches, Bryce Canyon, Canyonlands, Capitol Reef, Zion, and The Grand Canyon. While being on the ground and taking in all the nature under your feet, nothing compares to flying over it all at 30,000-plus feet. Those views remind me of that amazing trip to Namibia. It is a great joy to wander places with you. Thank you.

  11. I like your videos. Nicely shot and without yap. Sometimes talking is okay depending on the maker but its also good to just observe the experience quietly.
Jeb Brooks says these are the best of all the Delta One's

  12. Year against another wonderful presentation ❤.
I flew Delta in business class from Fort Lauderdale to Boston via JFK two weeks ago and it was top notch. Also, thank you for being an inspiration to me to start my own channel and post my travels!

  13. I've only flown domestically on DL but I'm gonna fly D1 to Honolulu in sep from Detroit. Looking forward to trying it. I think delta is the best American airline. They're not in the news here for mishaps like the others lol
