We were in Rugby fever for a week, Rugby World Cup 2023.
We were on a river cruise with Australian rugby supporters from all over the world.
We visited a few places during the week.
The Village of Vernon, it boasts a rich history dating back to the Middle Ages. We heard the bells of the Church of Our Lady, a stunning example of Gothic and Romanesque architecture , the town is also known for its production of engines by the SNECMA group.
We travelled to Bayeux, located in Normandy. We viewed the historic tapestry, which depicts the events leading up to the Norman conquest of England in 1066.,a UNESCO listed masterpiece.
We visited and walked up to the “keep” in the Château de La Roche-Guyon. This magnificent castle boasts a rich history dating back to the 12th century. The view from the top was amazing. Well worth the effort.
