How to Plan the PERFECT Trip to Las Vegas (free cheat sheet)

Between all the dazzling shows extravagant casinos Gourmet dining experiences and iconic attractions it can be overwhelming to decide how to spend your time in Las Vegas and while there’s no wrong way to do Vegas a little bit of planning does come in handy so if you’re headed to Las Vegas

Here’s exactly how to plan the perfect trip in this video I’ll cover all the must knows must do how to schedule your trip and I also put together a sample 3 to 4 day itinerary and some final tips for navigating Vegas like a pro I’m going to break down everything you need

To know about getting the essential Las Vegas experience without getting overwhelmed first how long should your trip be the most common trip length to Vegas is usually 2 to 4 days staying a total of 2 to three nights I think the butter zone is three nights four nights

If you’re coming from a bit further away like if your drive time or flight time is over 4 hours of course if you’re coming from a long way away like the UK you’ll want to spend maybe 10 days to 2 weeks and add some road trips in as well

But for most people especially if it’s your first time three or four nights is going to be plenty Vegas is overwhelming and anything longer than that is just going to burn you out you can’t do it all in one trip you’ll just have to come back and trust me you will next I

Recommend you choose your top four or five must dos these are your non-negotiables then choose three or four let’s try to fit them in if we have time and depending how much of a foodie you are pick one or two restaurants and make reservations some places you might

Have to make a reservation weeks in advance so remember that for the rest of your time just leave it up to Vegas and see where it takes you Las Vegas is not a place where you want to over plan and over schedule but if you have any must

Do mustsee or must eat places you’ll definitely want to book those in advance or at the very least block those into your schedule and then work around that if you want some suggestions here are some of my staple recommendations for a vacation that feels like you got a taste

Of everything so number one of course the best activity is walking the strip strolling in and out of the hotels and casinos along the strip is super fun this might seem obvious but this is the most Vegas touristy thing to do and you will never be bored especially if it’s

Your first time besides each hotel and casino being uniquely themed most of them have a free attraction the Bellagio Conservatory is stunningly beautiful it’s an indoor garden that changes with the seasons a few times per year definitely want to come here for amazing photos Caesar’s Palace has gorgeous Roman replica fountains the French

Themed Paris Hotel includes iconic landmarks like the Eiffel Tower the Venetian is a tribute to Italian opulence and captures the essence of oldw world Venice or enter into the world of King Arthur at the medieval castle themed Excalibur Hotel of course absurdity doesn’t end there inside each

Hotel there are all kinds of interesting things to do one of my favorites is visiting the chandelier Bar for a secret flower drink there are hundred hundreds upon hundreds of hidden gems and unique spots hidden all over the strip and the best way to experience as much as possible without getting overwhelmed and

Without missing anything worthwhile is to do a walking tour of the strip on your first day this way you can explore the best spots alongside a local guide who will share all the hot spots that are often missed by many tourists this also helps you get a lay of the land and

Set you up for the rest of your trip as far as other must do experiences I always recommend you choose one experience where you can see the strip from above whether that’s from the skypod observation deck at the Strat hotel which gives you 360° views of the

Entire city for about 20 bucks or you can go all out in a helicopter ride and take in all the shimmering lights or my favorite the High Roller observation wheel you can go anytime of day but I do recommend visiting at night or even Sunset you can also book the happy hour

Experience where your pod includes an open bar another must do is a show or maybe a residency my absolute favorite show is AB it’s a spicy vintage Cabaret style show it’s a mix of circus acts burlesque acrobatics and standup comedy it’s runchy but hilarious and highly entertaining but if you’re easily

Offended by anything this is not the show for you if you want comedy Carrot Top gets consistently high ratings and he puts a lot of effort into each show for magic Shin Lim and Matt Franco are currently the highest rated magicians if any City knows how to do cocktails it’s

Las Vegas so if you like to indulge you have endless choices the chandelier bar Vander pump at either Paris or Caesars even the Eiffel Tower restaurant if you want to view but if you want to take it to the next level Vegas is all about the speak easys right now there’s the lock

Speak easyy at Horseshoe there’s ghost donkey at Cosmopolitan the underground which is a Speak Easy down below the Mob Museum downtown there are honestly too many good ones to list but there are actually Speak Easy tours that you can take and this is a great way to get a

Taste of them without having to do all the guest work to get in next the Fremont experience this is another must do in my opinion one of the most frequently asked questions from people planning a trip to Vegas for the first time is if it’s worth seeing Fremont

Street Fremont Street is where Las Vegas started before there was anything on the Las Vegas Strip it was all about downtown Las Vegas it’s worth dedicating an entire evening of your trip the people watching the free light show experience the free live music from multiple stages Gam in is also a little

Less expensive and overall it just gives more of that old school Las Vegas Vibe getting away from the casinos there’s also all kinds of museums and quirky attractions places like Zack Bean’s haunted Museum or Area 15 and finally on every trip to Vegas I always recommend taking a break from the strip and

Visiting some of the best attractions off the strip or outside of the city after a full day or two of the chaos you might want to get out of town for a few hours and you should there are some incredible places to see surrounding Las

Vegas if you don’t have a whole lot of time spent a couple of hours roaming the arts district there are great craft breweries coffee shops fun thrift stores and vintage shops museums artsy murals and more if you want to get outside you could go hiking in Red Rock Canyon or I

Loved horseback trail riding along the red rocks and desert scenery we booked a halfday tour through vur we went to a beautiful Ranch only 45 minutes from the strip this is one of my favorite Las Vegas memories so if you’re interested in any of those must do recommendation

I’ve left links to all my favorite tours and activities in the video description below I recommend choosing your hotel once you’ve narrowed down your must do and the most important things you want for your trip sometimes your hotel’s amenities or features will be a part of

That for example if you want the best view from your hotel room choose the Cosmopolitan if you want the best pool maybe choose Flamingo MGM or Mandalay Bay if you want the cheapest probably go with Luxor or Excalibur if you want something chill and smoke free choose

Park MGM and and remember you don’t need to splurge on your room to have a good time in Vegas other than that your hotel Choice doesn’t really matter a whole lot as long as it’s on the strip and as long as it’s not Circus Circus I do have some

Specific Hotel videos on my channel if you want more details either way there’s always so much discussion about which hotel to stay at one of the best new tools out there to help you with that is planning.com it’s a hotel booking site where creators like myself can add their

Personal tips and things to know about hotels they’ve stayed at I find it’s a really good way to sift through all the impersonal and Anonymous hotel reviews on other sites and the best part is is that when you sign up for a free account you’re going to save up to 40% off

Compared to if you were to book somewhere on booking.com or Expedia I’ve added all my favorite Las Vegas hotels on there that I’ve stayed at so you can browse through my recommendations when you’re planning your next trip there’s a link in the video description and the

Comments for you to check out and see what you think okay with all that said here’s a sample itinerary that you could follow for a three or 4 trip and I’ve built it in a way so that it’s kind of like a Choose Your Own Adventure so if

You’re going to be in Las Vegas for Less Than 3 days or longer than 4 days you can pick and choose based on your length of trip and in the video description and comments I’ve left a downloadable PDF to this exact itinerary so feel free to

Grab that to help you with your planning starting off you’re going to get a nice brunch somewhere you could try Monami Gabby at Paris Hotel their patio is epic or at the wi TR Jardin for Chic takes on American comfort food in a Garden inspired space with a patio that

Overlooks the pool if you want a buffet it’s got to be at the Wicked Spoon at the Cosmopolitan Hotel after a big brunch it’s time to hit the strip and do some walking you can go Casino hopping check out all the different Hotel themes and attractions if you want you could

Start by the welcome to Las Vegas sign for that iconic Vegas photo and then work your way North as the day turns to evening hit up the link prominade maybe you find a happy hour at the very least you’ll probably need a beverage break so

I always like to stop at OA days for the Frozen Bailey this is one of my go-tos once it’s dark out take a ride on the High Roller observation wheel the pods have some of the best views of the sphere which is really fun to watch at

Night after that it’s probably time for dinner on your way to dinner be sure to stop at the bagio fountain show since it’s basically right across the street from the link prominade as for dinner options I’m going to leave out specific recommendations in this itinerary there

Are just so many options and some people plan their entire Vegas trip around the food but I will say this for the ultimate Vegas experience you should probably plan at least one fancy meal if you can Mayfair Supper Club is a glamorous dark eery with a Speak Easy

Style and there’s great Meal Time Entertainment or the Eiffel Tower restaurant is just classic and romantic with views of The bagio Fountains of course you can hit your favorite celebrity chef restaurant and there are tons of amazing steakhouses in Las Vegas I’m trying to work my way through them

But one of them I think you should consider is off strip and that is called Primal steak house it’s a very unique experience for day two you can have breakfast at any of the places you didn’t eat at on day one or if you want to go the cheaper route head to the

Miracle Mile shops for some affordable breakfast options I like Las Salsa Cantina for a little Mexican flare or blondies or ocean one each of these restaurants have a breakfast special for around $6 or $7 if you want more options for the best cheap breakfast in Vegas

I’ve got a full list on my blog the link is below after breakfast maybe today is a pool day if you’re in Vegas anytime between March and October the pools are open and several of them now have day clubs and pool parties if you’re not into the pool scene or if you’re

Visiting in the winter you could finish strolling the rest of the Las Vegas Strip that you haven’t seen yet or if you’ve already had a good taste of the strip make your way downtown first plan to make a stop at the arts district for a couple of hours either stroll around

On your own or maybe try a sightseeing foodie tour in this quirky and fun neighborhood then make your way downtown to the Fremont Street Experience and if you want to go a little off the beaten path you can even visit Fremont East I love this area because it still feels

Like true old Vegas I love the old school casinos like the El Cortez and as for drinks a can’t miss spot is atomic Liquors which is the oldest freestanding bar in the city then finish off the night cruising Fremont with all the live music and entertainers most visitors to

Las Vegas never leave the strip which is understandable considering how much there is there you could visit 20 times and still not have done everything but after a couple of days is you might need a little breather so if you’re feeling outdoorsy you can try hiking or even

Ebiking in nearby Red Rock Canyon or head to the Colorado River for kaying at Emerald cave or my favorite that I mentioned earlier horseback riding some of the most famous national parks are also within day tripping distance like Death Valley National Park and Grand Canyon National Park there’s Hoover Dam

Which is close enough to visit on a quick halfday Jun or you can combine it with a visit to the Grand Canyon for a full day of exploring if you don’t have time for a full day trip but still want a few hours off the strip you could

Visit Area 15 and check out Omega Mar it’s a mindbending immersive art experience that feels like you’ve entered another dimension I have a full video on that very unique experience if you’re interested there’s also outlet mall shopping top golf or if you love animals maybe pay a visit to the cat

Cafe or the lion habitat Ranch if you have any money or energy left over for day four I like keeping this as a free day to use for things you haven’t gotten a chance to do or want to revisit again I also have so many more ideas about

Things to do in Las Vegas specifically all kinds of fun Hidden Gem experiences and places both on my blog and in several videos on my channel so feel free to check those out too here are a few more tips to help you plan your trip with ease a lot of people visit Las

Vegas because they’re coming for a specific event maybe a concert or a conference or a sports game but if you’re not coming specifically for an event before you book your trip dates I recommend you check the event calendars to see if there’s a massive event happening on your planned dates while

There’s always something going on some events are bigger than others and it can be helpful to avoid those dates if you want fewer crowds and likely a little cheaper hotel room prices I usually start with the calendar on Vegas travel news the link is in the description it’s

Not sponsored or anything this is just a really great resource also when it comes to hotels Peak check-in time is usually between 3:00 and 7:00 p.m. and the lineups can get extremely long so if you’ve arrived at that time and you just want to get to All Things Vegas you can

Actually leave your bag secured with the Bell desk and then just come back outside of those busy hours to check in and yes drinks are free while gambling getting free drinks isn’t exactly as easy as it used to be but yes if you’re playing the slots or table games you

Will get complimentary alcoholic drinks I haven’t filmed a video on this because it’s kind of hard to do in a casino but I did write a whole blog post with a bunch of tips to help you maximize your free drinks and stay tuned to my channel because I’m putting together a massive

Video of all my best Las Vegas tips I’ve collected over the years and Remember Las Vegas is one of those places that is whatever you make it to be so do it your way and have fun that’s all for this video thanks for watching and I’ll see you in the next one when

Vitos I bet you didn’t know I spoke French oh

  2. 67 days & 11 hours to Vegas! But not like I'm counting down or anything. Great video Aly! I've been to Las Vegas dozens of times & Always learn something new with your videos before arriving there. My trips always start getting up early and hitting the lazy river & pools while staying Mandalay Bay. Is 10am too early for a margarita at the pool? Asking for a friend. I'm glad I did the High Roller last time at night. Yes! The sights were incredible. This time doing the Sphere Experience for the first time on this upcoming trip. Again Thanks for all the great info Aly. I'll think of you guys when I go back for my usual frozen Baileys!

  3. Hey~ just watched back to back of your Las Vegas videos! Thoroughly enjoyed them~ they'll be very helpful on our trip this weekend. Big thanks from Korea!

  4. For breakfast/brunch, hit the Hash House A Go-Go. The one on the Strip gets crowded, but the one on Sahara is about a 10 minute Uber ride. Worth it. You won't be hungry until dinner. Speaking of dinner, if you can find a place off-Strip, you'll save a lot of cash. For a steakhouse, try Herbs & Rye, or for an amazing experience, get the tasting menu at a place called Partage. Regardless, make reservations for dinner wherever you go. Even the buffets!

  5. 24 days to go. Bacchanal is #1 buffet the rest of your video is very helpful for newbies. I have been going for over 40 years, always something new

  6. 40 days to go! Hubby and I travel from Halifax, Nova Scotia so we stay 6 nights. It’s a long travel day with connecting flights so 6 nights works for us, although hubby could stay longer if we had the money.

  7. Wow Ally first time to watch your YT and was great will be looking for more and try to see others you have done.
I used to travel to Vegas lot and with all the new things you help…. Thanks

  8. Be careful with the secret flower drink at Cosmo Chandelier Bar. I ordered it and took a few sips and my night was ruined. I was more nauseous than I'd ever been in my life. We had to leave immediately. Luckily it was the end of our night and not the beginning.

  9. Las vegas is whatever you want it to be. I like to see shows and sight see and look around in the cool hotels. I love Vegas but only 3-4 days is enough for me or I get board.

  10. Thank you, this video was very helpful. Just because I lived in Vegas for six years. Whenever I go back with friends I am voted to plan the itinerary. Many things have changed that it can be overwhelming. Again, thank you for posting this video.
