HOW MUCH DOES VANLIFE COST IN SPAIN? | Monthly Cost Breakdown
This week you join us as we sit down and talk numbers so we’re going to break down our month of Van lifee costs from our amazing journey through [Applause] space so without further Ado let’s get into the Video hi guys and welcome back to our Channel So today we’re coming to you to talk about all of our costs in month two of traveling Europe you lucky Devils where were we for month two Rosie the whole of month two in Spain in Spain espia so it was always Our intention to
Do France and Portugal relatively quickly and chill out in Spain for a whole month so if you haven’t watched month one cost breakdown yet go back and watch that it’s got all of our costs right from leaving the UK and there’s loads of Handy pie chats and loads of
Information about how we save money doing van life in Europe but this video is just going to cover the whole of our month two cost breakdown yeah we left Portugal after a lovely two week spent there dropped into southern Spain and we pretty much did the whole South Coast
Over this 4-we period so just like last time we’re going to be breaking down the categories of our spending and then telling you the weekly totals and if you stay till the end of the video we’ll give you our total monthly breakdowns as well as our final total for month two
Okay so in week one then do you want to start us off I shall in week one first couple of days in Spain we didn’t do a great deal of driving did we we spent 7697 on diesel which isn’t too bad really too bad and then for our food
Category we spent very little we only spent £53 7 so thankfully starting off strong we spent absolutely nothing on tolls this week thank God for that I actually think from now on we don’t spend anything on tolls which is amazing because France absolutely killed us with
Tolls yeah we spent a hell of a lot of on TOS but that’s frie I guess our bits and Bobs category which covers like meals out and just like the random things that you buy 60 and 56 if you’ve been watching the channel you’ll know we
Are trying to do this uh van lifee Europe trip on a bit of a budget we’re not really treating it like a holiday we’re not going out to eat and we’re not drinking out very much are we so our eating out category isn’t even a
Category we just pop it in the bits and Bobs and that just covers all the miscellaneous things that are just added expenses on the road so once again Spain is a lot better for any kind of wild camping so we were only really going on campsites and paying to park somewhere
Where we needed to shower or do a laundry or just whenever we felt like it which wasn’t a great deal so in week one we spent £ 2139 on overnight parking so the total for week one in month two is £ 21199 which is great that’s not too bad
Is it very very good compared to last month we’ve definitely learned a lot and we are constantly adapting we’re TR like raining on like little bits and Bobs you don’t really need because things add up like the odd Euro here now and the odd like campet here now certainly adds up
And the thing is as much as we want to go out and eat it’s like we know that we shouldn’t it’s the saying like oh we’ve got food at home like we got food in the van so yeah so moving on to week two traveling through Spain we ended up
Meeting up with a couple of our friends that we met on the road Steven and Becky from cell and drive so yeah we met up with Steven Becky and we spent three days in lamanga just relaxing on the beach didn’t spend a great deal of money
Over 3 days really was it I think the most money we spent on was probably food this week yeah cuz we were buying a lot of alcohol we were buying a lot of alcohol we only spent £ 7128 on diesel this week how much were we get in a
Liter 1207 between like15 and £125 a liter converted into pounds which was amazing yeah bargain and then our food Catu was higher this week so we spent 7661 there was like a little shop in leang we just kept going there to buy like little bits and Bobs we did not
Need but it was just those sort little bits and Bobs wine beer snacks yeah that’s what happens when you meet up with people on the road kind of turns into a little bit of a holiday once again no toes this week absolutely amazing bits and Bobs then we spent
3283 I don’t know what on what no idea no idea and then because we just did a lot of wild camping this week and we showered in with a bucket shower outside we didn’t spend a single penny on any overnight camp in or campsite yes and I
Think it’s so much easier when we were in Spain because it was so warm so having a shower outside was nice but now that we’ve entered colder places not so good not so good our last category was wash him so we only spent £1.95 on like
Washing so that was probably like 2 and 1/ half weeks worth of washing washed and dried we can get about two weeks out of the clothes we brought with us yeah or until we run out our pants and so for this week the grand total came to
9267 so it’s on the the cheaper end of the weeks we’ve had so far I think cuz it was so chill we were just at the beach all day you know just we weren’t really spending money on many things at all no which was great week three is
Where it goes down okay so hear us out on this week last month we said that we wanted to keep ourselves on a new budget which was ,000 a month original one was 15,000 15 grand I bet you wish 1500 we sort of worked out how much we could
Spend potentially every week and because our first two weeks were quite cheap quite low yeah and we were having such a great time with st Beck St Becky we kind of splashed out in week three yeah and we thought hey should we go to benador
So not much driving to be done this week we literally just went from lamanga to benadon which isn’t a great deal of Drive-In so we spent £ 5997 on diesel beautiful beautiful okay so food for this week was expensive because we bought a lot of alcohol and we bought a
Lot of like snacks and bits and bobs for the hangovers so we ended up spending £84 21 Which is higher than we’d like it but like we said we took this week as kind of a holiday and we were just there to have good time like the weather was
Great we were constantly on beaches we kind of just gave ourselves a break for this week and it was the best week we had such it was an amazing week once again just like the last two weeks absolutely nothing on TOS this week don’t judge us on this next category
This is bit Bobs which included I think this is not too bad going on two nights out in benador in benador and buying probably three or four meals out yeah so this is like not too bad so don’t judge us we ended up spending 18747 however like Rosie mentioned we
Had analyzed the last two weeks and realized that to stay within budget we could spend up to £200 in benador and not feel it and then a category which hasn’t been any in any the previous weeks was a visit to the vets don’t worry there’s absolutely nothing wrong
With Lola but she has got a EU passport that needed updating for us to be able to travel with her in the future so we found a vet in benador took her there and she got a rabies booster and that came to 3255 however it’s going to save
Us a heck of a lot of money on our future trips to Europe because we don’t have to then buy an Animal House certificate she can just travel on her passport and then our last category of the week was overnight parking we were planning on staying a campsite for one
Night however the next morning check out was 11:00 a.m. checkout was 11: we got in at 4:00 a.m. I don’t know why we thought we could do it we ended up just staying another night so we ended up spending 49 60 yeah but that was the only overnight parking we did that week
Yeah so certainly not our cheapest week we’ve had so far our total this week was 38125 but that did include a lot and it did include a weekend where we just treated the whole thing like a massive holiday so week four week four was sort of filled with added expenses we weren’t
Prepared for yeah our first expense then was diesel £72 73 it’s a running theme we normally stay with Mark and that was because we had a massive drive to do which we’ll get onto why but we drove all the way from Alicante to Barcelona within one week
Not entirely sure why we spent so much on food this week but we spent 9253 bits and Bobs we spent 50 61 nothing on overnight parking this week we literally didn’t go on any campsites it was all nice free park UPS by the beach we did another load of washing so
This one was really cheap it only cost £7.72 for a wash and dry in our last week in Spain we completely altered our plans for the last month of our trip in Europe initially we were going to drive through the south of France and go into
Northern Italy but we found out that you could get a ferry from Barcelona to just outside of Rome so in this week we have got an expense of2 4650 for the ferry we don’t think it really goes to the tally of the rest of our expenses because it’s
Not something that we will need to factor in going forward we didn’t need to do it so we could have got around it um but we just ended up doing it more for like ease I wouldn’t count this as part of our van lifee costs no because
We didn’t need to do it all because we didn’t need to do it so the the reason we we record all these costs and obviously produce the videos for you guys is to show you just how cheap you can do van life and certain things like
Fairies and stuff yes I know you need a ferry or a EUR tunnel ticket to get over into Europe but when you’re in Europe it’s completely up to you if you take the fairies so yeah 24650 but that’s a cost that we could have avoided if we wanted to yes our
Other expense was medical related since being with step and Becky we all started getting really unwell I think that’s an understatement F but basically what happened was I died step Becky were ill I got it Rosie got it but Rosie didn’t get over it Rosie’s developed into a
Quite severe chest infection I couldn’t breathe I didn’t sleep for like three nights I was delusional literally I could not breathe so we thought should probably see a doctor I’m going get some medication for that so we ended up contacting a doctor in Barcelona in Barcelona but that did cost like 60 just
For the online consultation but without that we were never going to be able to get a Spanish prescription for the antibiotics that Rosie desperately needed to get rid of her sickness so with the doctor and the prescription for medication it came to £ 7895 but again that’s an expense that we
Weren’t expecting so we we don’t really put it towards the the the final costs of Van life in general yes so don’t get ill so don’t get ill when you’re away expenses so we’ve got two totals for this week one with the added expenses and one without and we’re going to tell
You both of them so without the added expenses it was actually one of our cheapest weeks it was £188 59 but with all the added expenses it would have come to £514 4 yeah so that doesn’t sound as good no it doesn’t sound as
Good at all so there we have it that is 4 weeks of travel through Spain and all the costs that come with it we had a great month in Spain we’re going to total up the 4 weeks of expenditures through all the categories and give them all team we ended up spending £
28095 on diesel moving on to our food category we spent £ 30642 on just shopping bit to Bob’s then this came to 20 9647 overnight parking much cheaper than month one we spent £70.99 in total across the four weeks washing we just spent just shy of20 so it’s £1 1967 and
That’s doing washing twice every two weeks over the month like we mentioned we got the vet bill of £ 3255 the medical expenses are £ 7895 and then our fer at £ 24650 leading to two totals again for the entire month one without the added expenses and one with the added expenses
Without the added expenses our second month would have cost 97450 so in total with everything we spent every penny that left our hands we spent 1,332 p50 in month two no revisions to our budget for month three we’re going to stick to uh £1,000 hopefully we’ve got no more fairies upcoming apart from
The one we’ve got back home but that’s already paid for and hopefully there’ll be no more medical expenses don’t get ill again so there we go that’s our month two breakdown for our European trip we hope these videos are informative for you and inspire you to

Fuel was cheaper than Food, Bits & Bob's & Ferry. Now that's surprising but the grand total wasn't that bad tbh. Just keep "Rosie" away from people 😜
🎉
No tolls = more munchies 😁👍
It must be difficult when away not to try the local delicacies 😢
Nice one guys 😎 loving the updates 👌
